Dear devs,"I, Ebonheart Pact, would like to play daily quests with my daughter, Aldimeri Dominion.

I am a Vet 7 NB, enjoying this game since April, and have some solo quest content to look forward to, but in 1-2 months that will be done.
I have not the private time left to build up another character in AD solely for playing daily quests AND I am very much attached to my Nord.

So... why is it not possible, for the daily quests, to group with somebody of another Pact?
It would greatly improve the social gameplay aspect!

"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

It has been asked several times but @ZOS said that they had no current plans to allow cross-faction grouping.

Only 2 solutions remain (currently) to play with your daughter:
    - Duel in Cyrodiil (can be fun or not, some like it a lot)
    - Restart a character in the Dominion, even if you already stated that you don't have that much time for it. You would need to reach level 45 for the normal dailies and VR1 for the veteran ones.

    Sorry.
    Wololo.

    I did the duelling :-)
BTW Mainly to find out what really happened with some abilities, because I did not always fully understand the tooltip.

But starting another character all over again........
Plaing this game is already a compromis between myself, my time consuming job and my social life in the real world.

IF @ZOS wants to have a diversified player base.... they should be compelled to make this possible!

I cannot be that this game is only for diehards and people with lots of time freed up.

I can understand it is not what you want. But when i created my character i also picked the same side as my friends did. We agreed on that before we made a character

Personaly i think you should not be able to play with the other faction. It is even strange that we can do there quests. For the sake of RPG and PVP feeling. They are the enemy ;)

Besides you both have picked the wrong aliance ;) . Maybe you could both create a new character and join the DaggerFall B)

There are places where you can quest together in Cyrodiil. I mean the quest hubs like Bruma or Cheydinal (not sure about the name), those quests are daily and you will both be able to do the same quests, you will however both be hostile to each other, so be careful with AOE's. ;)

Currently there is no proper option for cooperative gameplay involving different fractions, just fighting each other in cyrodil (while it is possible to fight alongside each other with care, it would remain difficult as has been mentioned - AoE, different guard NPC reactions, allied players who'd gank your "enemy fraction" partner, etc.).
But... who knows, there might be one someday.

Two options have been suggested before here on the forums...
    - A "cooperative cross-fraction PvE area" where everyone plays together against some new dire threat to all (pity they did not think to make coldharbour like that... it would have fit the background... but there are more daedric planes and more daedric princes to threaten nirn and get all the warring fractions together)
    - A special "defection" questline that allows players to change their alliance as one optional outcome.

Might be that someday one of those will be implemented in the game. Until then, the only option is have one of the players reroll in the other alliance. Logically the one who has the extra time to level an alt to the point where they can have fun together...

So, not first MMO but still missing the point that there will be "no lifers" or people with a lot of time on their hands? I thought that was common knowledge similar to how the sky is blue.

My advice is to roll a character on another alliance with your kid. Obvious, I know. You say that you don't have the time but maybe you can convince her to join you this time.

They could help you and put a bandaid on the 30 cp disaster by creating a special version of Cyrodiil without PvP.

That way people could do the dailies to gain CP and people like you could join up with your daughter.

The champion system final product is going to make leveling an alt easier than ever given that all endgame progress will be account bound not character bound. So just start an alt and level it up once the final phase of the champion system is close.

As for "knowing" that various pacts couldn't adventure together - I only found that out when my sweetie and I each rolled up characters, got to the end of the first bit in cold harbor, and couldn't see each other. Called up customer support, so we found out right away. Crazy world. And sometimes in the bank I'm GLAD that I can only see 1/3 of the people who are there.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Is this your first MMO? There are not a lot of faction-based PvP-enabled MMO games that allow cross-faction grouping. I can't think of any off the top of my head, though I'm sure somebody will chime in w/ a few of the more obscure examples, lol.

You are at war. It is that simple. It is the premise of the game.
I really hope they never add a "feature" that allows this.

It's not that simple in RL. In real world the enemy can become your friend and your allies turn and become the enemy. I (and many others it seems) would like to see the mechanics to allow this to happen in game.

The decision to be a part of a faction is a political one; not one that is imposed on a character. The idea behind "choosing" a faction should be that a person can choose also to leave a faction for whatever reason to join another alliance ... or even no alliance (it's a personal choice).

People become invested with their characters, and advice to "roll another toon" flies in the face of this reality.

To my eyes, this is the biggest flaw in the game, and has seen me un-sub a couple of times in recent past ... despite that I love the ambiance of ESO and see huge potential down the road.

The premise of the main quest is "we must unite against an enemy more dangerous than any of us." Fighters and Mages guild, of which we are members, operate outside faction boundaries. Eyevea was created for the purpose of meeting like-minded individuals no matter where they come from.

If you think this game is only about war and uncrossable borders between people, you missed a lot.

@OP Your fault. You or your mature daughter should have known. It has been on every site in the news, in manuals, in discussions of every social media, that you cannot join a group, if you don't start in the same faction. The "RTFM" section is true for games too ;) (no offense meant)

Why don't you two just roll up a new char in a faction you don't know well yet, enjoy yourself up to lvl 50 in a team and after that you can not only do dailys but everything ZOS will bring up in the future as well?

I doubt ZOS will help you, though I would appreciate this too.

So? People can do that. Even in war time there are groups (resistance) who crossborders of nations that are in war. Put personaly it should not have been made possible :open_mouth:

Still those guild members can not play the same quests. And if it would be made possible, why have faction at all?

Easy solution: allow faction change. I for one made characters in each faction to try them out at the beginning and would love to be able to move them all to the same faction now. I even made a post suggesting it could be done as a quest, with possible limits on the number of faction changes.

Correction, you are never going to meet any AD players of the same level (unless they have popped back to use Guild Vendors or crafting stations).

You will meet AD players levelling up their characters through levels 1-50, and EP players doing Cadwell's Gold. Because I used to meet VR players well before I hit VR levels.
