Crafting in the long run

I like that we have crating dailies now and the added ninth trait crafted sets is nice to the certain extent but I feel that I not getting rewarded properly for fully leveling my crafting skill to level

To start off with the crafting writs are great for the beginners and the inspiration is nice but for people who already have level 50 in crafting this is kind of a drag. The money is meager, the inspiration is worthless, and the time and effort is kind pointless if your already a master crafter. I believe Zos should at least reward people who have finish maxing crafting to 50 like using less tempers or something else.

Also the researching is even more bland since it takes a month to get any traits if your on the seventh and eighth and now ninth traits in any in crafting fields. I have only one problem about this. If it going to take me this long I would like to be properly rewarded. The eighth trait armor sets lack luster and there is no seventh trait armor sets. I would have love an improvement on the eighth trait sets and some actually seventh armor sets before we got a ninth trait set but alas we did not get them. The added less research time is good but I would at least increase more items for research times.

Crafting in general now feels like a grindfest to nothing because once you reach the top you are not really rewarded. I took my time leveling my crafting skills to 50 but I have nothing to show for it other than making vet level gear that only sustains my rank not improve it.

How do you all feel about crafting in general and how would you want zos to improve it?

    Good post. I love the crafting aspects of ESO, but would like to be able to differentiate my skills a little more.

    Once you hit the "end game" - L50, all traits etc. - you've exactly the same to offer as everyone else who has hit that ceiling. (Not that I'm there yet).

    I'd like the opportunity to specialise further, with crafters required to choose between a range of alternatives. So you cannot do everything.

    Random, not-thought-through examples:
    • Hatmaker - can craft head gear with extra points
    • Dark elf specialist - can unlock special dark elf styles or add fire-related bonuses to armour
    • Resto staff expert - can add progressively more valuable healing bonuses to resto staffs, or make staffs that give the user access to a special bonus skill
    This might be too granular for most people, but I'd love it. The value would also depend on some easier way to find the kind of crafter you're looking for when ordering equipment from players.

    Yeah I like that. I would love to specialize more in crafting with passives that help futher depict your specialization and maybe a title.

    As my main is a dedicated crafter I would prefer it to be limited because of skill points rather than a fixed choice.

    ie make it expensive skill point wise to specialise so that if players wanted to specialise in more than one thing they had to choose it over raiding / PVP /weapon skill point usage etc

    That would also make it more enticing to keep collecting skill points as some players are finding that they have more than enough to do everything that they fancy doing without making character choices or hunting for the last skill points available.

    I do think they are trying to head in the direction of making specialized crafter's with how they split the Dwemer chapters up. I do agree that it is a pretty vanilla system at the moment. I always use Vanguard as a standard to judge other systems. Particularly in the beginning release of that game you could really customize how your character specialized in different skills. Plus the leveling system was completely separate from the adventuring and diplomacy system.
