Combat Responsiveness - Dark Crystal and Staff Attacks

Since launch, the responsiveness of staff attacks have been a bit of an issue. I was just wondering how the team is coming along with combat responsiveness, especially as it pertains to staves?

Also, in one of the recent patches, Dark Crystal has been affected. The attack would usually hit the opponent, resulting in an immediate knockdown. Now, however, that doesn't seem to be the case. When you hit an opponent with Dark Crystal, they aggro, turn to you (if they're ranged, start attacking), then get knocked down. It's more annoying than anything, mostly because it ruins immersion.

I've heard of other abilities being affected, but this is the only one that I've encountered. Is this something that ZOS is aware of?

    I mostly use a Resto staff now. The heavy attacks are more responsive than the light attacks. Also on occasion, the heavy attacks charge up like Destro staff heavy animation and the attack does nothing.

    I also just hate the staff idle stance. Reminds me of a gnome mage. *rage* Being hunched over also just doesn't give me the feeling of a TES mage.

    @KenjiJU‌ The game has been out for long enough now that I figured the staff animations would be smoother... sadly, not yet.

    The developers had said that they were working on more natural staff poses a while back, but nothing has come of it, yet.

    You mean the way that guy with his back facing you manages to somehow get that one hit in (even though his weapon was not drawn) as he's getting surprise-knocked on his butt?

    It's right up there with the other enemies being able to immediately, non-line-of-sight, pinpoint your location when you cast a non-projectile spell (Rune prison, for instance)

    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

    YES! The staff animations and responsiveness really ruin immersion and play-ability too. The lack of being able to surprise NPCS is also frustrating and causes me to just want to play a dark elf inferno staff wielding DK so I can take a bunch of punishment and deal massive damage without caring. Tactics are being sacrificed because the response times are not correct with a few things. The LOS issue that was brought up by Merilin13KAGL there is also spot on in its lack of realism. They should at least search about a second if you are in a hidden area or... something.
