So basically it does nothing for me sense I'm vet 10 and done with those quest. To bad you didn't make all the delves scale so i could go back and replete them for fun at my level. Then there would be something for me to do.

No they will scale to you. They will scale up, not down. Sorry if I was unclear.

DELVES do not scale. I think the misunderstanding comes with the confusion over delves, public dungeons and group dungeons. They're all different and only group dungeons are affected.
Hopefully that is a fully definitive list of "solo instances".ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Solo Scaling
- The following solo content will now scale:
- Main Quest
- Fighters Guild
- Mages Guild
- Stirk
- Werewolf Quest
- Vampire Quest
- Thizzrini Arena
- Orrery of Elden Root
- Cathedral of the Golden Path in Southpoint
I agree, but there's no such thing as a "solo dungeon". The official names are "Solo Instance" (what we're talking about; this scales to you), "Delve" (does not scale), "Group Delve" (does not scale), "Public Dungeon" (does not scale), and "Group Dungeon" (scales to group leader). Please people try to use names like solo dungeon, public dungeon and group dungeons when talking these things so people do not get confused. So far I've seen in this thread the delve to be used as any of those which will make people just more confused.
Group dungeons will scale to the group leader.
Public dungeons will not scale as they are open for all.
Solo dungeons will not scale as they are open for all.
Solo instances were listed above where the scaling will happen to the players lvl.

Group Delves are currently only found in Craglorn, and are the Adventure Zone equivalent of regular Delves. They differ from Public Dungeons in that they are designed for groups of exactly four, and are smaller than PDs with a size like the normal Delves. PDs in comparison do not require a group of four and are much larger. You are right in that PDs and Group Delves used to use the same icon for a short period of time. This was changed because they are not actually related (but personally I think the crossed-torches icon was the best option for PDs).I agree, but there's no such thing as a "solo dungeon". So what is the difference between group delve and public dungeon? I thought that the public dungeon icon you put there was what replaced the group delve icon?
Exactly. If this system is implemented, it needs a toggle so we can turn it off. I'd rather not get any meaningful reward, and be able to do the quest, than die 30 times trying to complete it at-level.killedbyping wrote: »Why do i have to complete solo instances in insreased diffuculty if i left them behind for a reason ? I agree - a toggle is needed for solo quest lines where it makes sense (e.g., someone commented in another thread that future solo quest lines might have to scale to "work" - such as justice system). I can see both cases - someone might skip them because they are frustrating and they want to over level to make them more enjoyable, or they may want them to scale because they inadvertently over leveled before they got the quest line, and they find running at the lower level boring.Exactly. I'm just going to say it... If this turns out to be a forced option, then they are going to be losing two subscriptions to the game.
I play this game with my girlfriend. She is... not really a gamer. She tries, but calling her a "casual" would be an understatement. I'm a long-time gamer and MMO vet, so I'm used to having to learn mechanics and what-not. She... isn't.
We play this game together, and I basically carry her through much of the content. Frustrations greatly arise when it comes to the instanced dungeons, both group and solo.
The forced solo dungeons as they are have irked me since Day One, because I have to watch her struggle through them, and get very frustrated (the fact that I seem to have no issue with them just frustrates her more). I have offered to help her by doing them for her, but she hates having to resort to that.
We've gotten as far as we have by just waiting until we are several levels over the dungeon for the main quest and fighters/mages guild questlines, at which point she can complete them fairly easily. This change will eliminate that as an option, if the difficulty scaling is forced.
Instanced group dungeons are another issue. I don't know anyone else that plays, and can't very well expect two other people in a PUG to want to carry a relatively useless 4th person through every dungeon. So we've been waiting until we were VERY over-leveled to complete those, when we can do them as just the two of us. This change will kill our ability to do that as well, if it's forced.
Don't get me wrong, I actually kinda like the level scaling idea, if it's optional, since that would allow me to do the solo dungeons at the same time as her (when we are several levels beyond it), while still being able to enjoy the dungeon as intended and not having it be a face-roll. But forcing this on us, without the option of being able to do them while over-leveled just for the completion, is going to ruin the game for her, and by extension, me as well.
If this turns out to be forced, then, to me, that would just be one more example of the ZOS devs trying to kill off their casual gamer playerbase, to appeal to the MMO elite crowd (who can never be completely pleased with anything).
Please make this change optional.
So this is an extremely bad idea then to scale main quest instances. As a Templar I had to out level every quest by 5 to 10 levels just to be able to do them. If they now scale to me I would have never been able to do them. Hope they are easier now they were very hard 4 months ago when I completed the main quests.
Ever enjoy reading a good book? Was it because you overcame an obstacle? There is much of that in TESO - the story, the scenery, the exploration, the interaction with others, etc. Bashing MOBs (or players) is one part of the game - not the entire game. Some players really don't care too much about it. However, it is clear there are also players who enjoy the other end of the spectrum as well - those that always gallop at full speed from one fight to the next, rapid click through all dialogs, min/max every aspect of the build for combat, etc. TESO is trying to fill a hard role in attempting to be enjoyable to a very wide range of players. That is why the perspective on these types of changes aren't as clear cut as it may seem when you look at it only from a given player's perspective.I hate to be that guy but all the people in here saying they need to out level quests to complete them are really ruining the game for themselves IMO. So you reach a quest that is hard? What do you do? Skip it and try to out level it so it is easier???? NO! You mess around with your build, you buy or craft new gear, you think up new tactics to the fight. You over come an obstacle and you will feel much more reward than relying on being over leveled to complete quests.
