Characters personal crafting bank.

As we know, bank is account wide, caan be upgraded and so forth. I also assume that many are as i am, bank fuöö of crafting materials.

Many would want simplified crafting or large increase to bag and bank space, this is also assumption.

However, TES is about choice, you may choose how to play and what to do and when you decide to advance in every crafting possible it is a choice with consequences. I like this design and do not want it to be changed.

Still, there is other stuff like maps, Trophies and weaponry you want to store for future research or simple nostalgia or perphaps that "Sedura Morag" represents true Daedric artifact to you and alll the other similar stuff as well and you just want to save them all...

In any case, even when only crafting with one or two professions, bank is quite full all the time, as is your inventory.

My proposal to this is to give each character a small personal crafting bank space. Something that would accommodate one or two personal crafting professions so you could store you characters crafting materials at characters personal crafting vault. I was thinking something small.. Like 20-30 slot bank space which can not be upgraded. This could allow a bit more personal "Per character" crafting, low space would encourage you to think more of your choice.

Crafting bank would be similar to "materials" tab, there can be nothing else but materials.

Now it is time to choose an answer.

In most MMOs, I find myself putting nice looking gear or fun items in the bank and use them regularly. In ESO, I find myself forced to sell or deconstruct any gear besides what I am using just so I have space for crafting professions in my inventory/bank.
I agree with your idea, I think for an account-wide bank, there is too little space and the upgrades are too expensive.

nice Idea but i have 3 professions BS, Cloth and Woodworking my bank is full of 100 of each material need to craft and each trait and race stones, i don't have enough space to hardly send items to other toons on my account which is why i have to have a Mule character which holds trophy's and other materials (logged onto and access when needed, Shouldn't have to do this).
I also have an alt that does Enchanting and Alchemy..i also want to do Provisioning but have No space. game need space, nice Idea but 30 slots still is good But i like the Shared account bank, so all we need is :

    1 Character Bank 100 slots..maby
1 Account bank 200 or more slots
1 Bag space for each character 80 slots or more
all with possible upgrades of course

Now This will solve Everyone's problem, even if say Clothiers made bags, or sacks to increase space.

I would also like the room to store everything but i think it is better to force players not to save everything. Economy needs to keep running as well and having enough materials for sale, it helps.

Even when if like to save everything for my own needs, i like the idea that i have to think more of what i keep and what i sell. For provisioning as example, i just keep materials for one food and one drink that i need for my character, i only make drink and food for my level and sell other materials for others to use. Now if id like to start "mass" producing food and drink, it has to be a choice when i accept the consequence that i have limited space for other than provisioning.

I think limited space will also keep guild stores healthy and with good supply with materials to avoid overpricing.

Yes, there are currently too many crafting materials. Especially base materials. And in particular provisioning.
They are aware and are reworking the system accordingly. Provision is the first to be targetted. Others sill propably follow.

Better to rework it and lower the totaly types of materials then giving more bank space/specialised bank space.

Only in theory. In reality, it just forces us to use Alts for Mules and hammer the servers logging in and out of them as we move resources around. I can't think of anyone who crafts in more than 3 areas (even spread across alts) who don't use Mules to one extent or another. I am constantly shuffling around things between my 3 current characters (WW/Clothing and Blacksmith and Enchanter) and using 4 mules for storage. Notice I am not doing Alchemy or Provisioning, I don't really have space for the mats for those activities and support leveling the other crafting.

We dont need less crafting material. What we need is players who realise that you can not save everything.l

If you want to save everything, it is choice and has to have consequences.

In my opinion, this small crafting vault per character would just serve as space for couple of professions. You dont need that much room for provisioning as you can carry materials with you for the food and drink you use.

I at least, dont understand at all the fuzz about provisioning having too much ingredients. It is the only profession that only takes 10 or less slots from my inventory. None from bank.

Only profession that annoys me with ingredients is enchanting, always too many runes but never the third type so i could actually make something.

What i keep at bank? Reaits for armor and weaponry. Resins and tempers plus such that everyone uses. Enchanter runes too. I have 3 character, each with their own skills on professions. One does metalwork, one woodwork and third clothing. They keep material for their current level on their inventory (Craftying vault is to correct this). They also have ingredients for food and drink they cyrrently use. Only thing that i have to swap to other characters are weapons as only one destroys stuff (For achievment). This would need more a mail that i can send to my characters rather than more bank space.

No offense, I think you have this backward. If my single character bank had 200 slots, then I'd only need a small account bank to move things from one character to another. This would also give you a total of 800 slots (plus horse upgrades) between all of your characters. It would solve most of the space problem, but still we'd have to work (as we should) if we were using mules.

Meanwhile, what I really want is my own ship. I busted my butt putting a crew together for the Spearhead, and then the captain wants to kick me off!!! On a relevant note, I don't want to store trophies on a mule character, I want them with my main character so I can browse them and enjoy the memories from time to time. So I'd like to keep them on my ship. This would be the single character bank. The ship would, of course, be at the port of every major city you go to, and would be the secondary form of travel.

this was only a kinda estimate of what i have seen on these forums that alot of players have asked for or sugested (as well as myself) i doesn't have to be that exact amount, just adding a Character bank would improve things on there own or even increasing items to 1000 from 100 a stack.

dont take this as what it should Be as is just a rough idea.

besides i'm also one that likes to keep Fluff crap ie trophy's ,costumes ect.

I think you should get more inventory slots unlocked, per skills you put into crafting that way you actually have to put something into the crafting to get the extra space, maybe 3 or 4 spaces per skill point you put into a crafting area, or something of that nature.
I would also like to see something in our journal that would allow us to keep our trophies in without it taking up any space.

I don't think a poll was needed for this suggestion so I'm not answering it. However, some tweaking of the inventory system might be in order. Here is some data the devs can look at. Perhaps they already did and came to a decision and this is just another wishful thinking post about the inventory space. IDK

    Blacksmithing 9 raw 9 refined=18
    Woodworking 9 raw 9 refined=18
    Clothier 9 raw 9 refined=18
    Enchanting 14+19+5=38
    Alchemy 18+9=27

This is only if you have 1 stack of each. Needless to say, the refined stacks can be balloon these numbers quite easily.

While some extra place for stocking some raw materials might be nice, that is probably better placed in the personal inventory of all us hunter and gatherers.

    Therefore you rather have
    Blacksmithing 9 refined, 4 tempers, traits = 13+
    Woodworking 9 refined, 4 tempers, traits = 13+
    Clothier 18 refined, 4 tempers, traits =22+

with 16 traits (soon 17/18) and 14 (more?) style materials common to the last three crafts

Given that indeed you would want - at least for some of the refined materials - to have also more than one stack it's easy to see that 30 slots per craft can fill up easily.

Therefore, why not increase the number of slots - automatically - by 3 for every level of crafting known in each craft (3 to 27) or by 2 for the number of skill points spent into crafting or by 1 per level, 1 per style, 1 by level in tempering or some combination of that.

Best would probably be for that to be either a personal space (per character) or based on the highest skill of all character to an account.

Right now the cost for extra bank space is prohibitive.

I wrote to the tv show hoarders. I wanted them to run an episode just for my ESO hoarding. I keep *everything* that I want to keep.

I don't think a crafting bank is the solution. I also don't agree that the cost of space is prohibitive. The only problem I have is with the mail system, and I am guessing most people do not receive the amount of mails I do. I craft for a guild and am constantly flooded with materials, deconstructables, etc.

There are1280 slots across 8 characters with Imperial horses and 240 bank slots. You can get to 1280 slots for ~400k gold. Horse upgrades are 98k gold in 49 days, the rest from bag upgrades on a progressive scale. The 240 bank slots cost 768.5 k on a progressive scale. Most of the cost is backloaded, so you can end up with quite a bit of space for a fraction of that total amount. My issues were largely solved by leveling the horses, a couple of bag upgrades per character (I only maxed the provisioning main at first), and upgrading the bank to 100 slots. I think the issue was moot for me at about 300k spent?

If you are having severe space issues, you aren't playing casually, so devoting a few hours now and then to increasing you available slots is reasonable. You can make 30k gold per hour at high VR level with a mediocre AoE farm group and creative use of the mail system. Even just by questing you can make piles of gold doing easy, repeatable quests, or even the normal quests. If you are a crafter, you should be making out like a bandit unless you are just crafting to craft.

The only thing that irks me is the hireling mail system. You have to login each toon to receive hireling shipments. What I would like is to have all the hireling mail come when you login the first toon, separate from the regular mail system. Then distribution would be largely trivial .

The hireling issue comes into play for me because I am close to 3/3 in every craft in each of 8 characters. So, about 40 mails every 12 hours? It requires relogging 8 toons at least twice for distribution, two times a day, or I hit the mail cap or overload the bank. It's worse if guildies have flooded me with mails in the interim. Because of the mail cap, you can't login each toon to get the mails and then distribute them later (e.g., once a day). If you hit the mail cap, your friends, customers and whatnot cannot send you mail. The hireling mails are still sent but you won't receive them until there is room under the cap.

Also, this issue does not contemplate the creative use of the mail system I mentioned earlier - I don't actually do that because guildies are farming the deconstuctables and sending them to me.

For reference, I play about 3 hours a day.

The only argument I find persuasive is when people say that they don't want to fill up all their slots in case new classes are released. However, even just a few alts will make a big difference. If you want to be a hoarder, but don't want to put the effort in to getting space to be hoarder, I don't know what to say.

    Alright, here’s the deal:
    • A lot of gold is spent on baggage needlessly.
    • Cannot filter mats uniquely from other useful items; it’s Food mats + Enchant mats + Fishing mats + Black/Cloth/Wood mats + odd Trophies. This category is way too impacted without a filtering mechanism. Please fix this.
    • Trophies are worthless if they take up baggage. Some are cute, but if they do not contribute to gameplay – I am forced to delete them. We need a Trophy Locker. I am open to purchasing larger lockers – but it should be a reasonable cost and not at the Guild Bank fee. A Trophy that’s in a Locker cannot be accessed for warfare, however should be accessible if the Toon is in a Town having a Bank so we can show off our fine collection. Another idea is to purchase a Home (ala Skyrim), and that Home could come with one display case, with the option to purchase more.
    • Hireling deliveries are not dependable. I am at my wits-end trying to figure out just when a hireling delivers the goods. Originally I used to get them first thing in the morning – and that was great! Then after the 1.3.3 update – they began arriving in the afternoon. Then there was a day where I didn’t get them at all and had to wait 24-hours. It’s been another 24-hours and still nothing. I am beginning to believe that the next delivery cycle begins 24 hours after picking them up. If it were in the real world – I’d sack the hireling for not sticking to the contract. I can accept that deliveries should not stack up, but the cycle needs to be consistent.
    Thanks, KF

V1, here. I'm not an extensive seller ... yet, but I craft everything, and I think the current system works.

I have 8 characters. 7 of them have about 100 storage spaces (two from bags--the rest from horse upgrades. My main character has 130 spaces (two bags and a fully upgraded horse). The main guy is 32+ in blacksmithing, clothing, and woodworking. He learns all the motifs and carries all the style resources. He also totes the raw ore, ingots and tempers.

That still leaves him with about 50 slots free for adventuring.

Another alt stores material and tannins for light clothing but seldom crafts. (He banks things as my main character requires them.) The same goes for the medium armor alt and the woodworking alt. (The medium guy also stores weapons and armor with learnable traits.)

My main is also my primary enchanter, but he's neck and neck with another alt, who stores the runes and trades with him. They're both at about level 25.

My provisioning alt is at level 50 and stores only food ingredients. Another alt stores the beverage ingredients.

My alchemist is at 40+ and has ample room for everything. He also stores the trophies and those noisy pets.

I don't love logging everyone in and out, twice a day, but it works, and I everything I make is better than what I can find in the world or buy from merchants.

The problem with keeping crafting materials on the character doing that craft is that you're probably going to want any other characters you have to also pick up those materials as they go about their business. Which means They have to have space to pick them up and your Bank has to have enough space to put them in so that the character who needs them can pick them up. There is really no way to get around needing the space on more than a single character, unless you find that only gathering one type of material on one character actually provides enough. However this is likely to lead to spending a lot more time farming (instead of playing) with individual characters, when you could just do a single run picking up everything and then transferring it to the bank for whoever needs it. It really makes most sense to store materials in the bank so you have one less step of transferring items.

But there is No question that anyone who does crafting Needs more space!
As I mentioned in another thread about this: For 1 stack of each material for two levels (so you can save for the next level or craft for an Alt at a different level) the space required for each craft is as follows:
    Alchemy: 18 reagents, and 2 solvents = 20
    Enchanting: 19 essence runes, 4 Potency, 5 Aspect = 28
    Provisioning: 4 main ingredients, 6 secondary ingredients = 10
Armor and Weapon Trait Stones = 16
    Blacksmithing: 4 ore, 4 ingot, 4 improving = 12
    Woodworking: 4 rough woods, 4 sanded woods, 4 improving = 12
    Clothing: 8 raw material, 8 refined material, 4 improving = 20

For only two tiers of all the crafts 118 slots are needed for a single stack of each material, not counting items to research or deconstruct. This is not hoarding. Yet it is far more than the space you begin with, you won't be able to purchase all that space as soon as you'll need it, and it leaves little room for saving special items. Thus I definitely agree that it would be nice if there was some way to separate the material storage from other storage, or at least account for it in some way that would allow space for other things without the ridiculous juggling between Mules that is currently the only solution.

I like this idea, it seems like a very useful reward for investing in a craft. It always is a wrench to decide between putting points into crafting and putting them into something that will help you survive. Alternatively it could be nice to reward an inventory space for every 5 levels you gain in a craft, since leveling a craft doesn't count toward your character level or skill points, it would make leveling up a craft a little more exciting. Leveling a single craft all the way to 50 (which does take some dedication) would therefore gain you 10 inventory slots. If you do all 6 crafts it would be similar to feeding your horse oats every time, but probably isn't going to happen as quickly.

YES. I find it very disappointing that I feel obligated to throw away souvenir items because there just isn't space for anything that isn't useful. I feel that being able to keep special trophies, memoirs, and rewards would add a lot to my enjoyment of my characters. I would also include disguises in this category. Keeping certain things from a character's adventures seems to give them more 'personality' and that in turn makes me more dedicated to the game when my characters feel more 'real.' I know not everyone finds this important, but there are certainly people who do.

    Hello Mike. Welcome to HA
Hopefully the Provisioning revamp will open up some storage space. They have indicated that they will be eliminating the faction mats and it will simply be the same mats in each faction for the same level and type of recipe.
Still a ways off, so who knows how it will end up, but here's hoping for less variety of mats.
