Given Valve's recent push for Linux, I'd have thought that they would've fallen over themselves to bring the Mac client into the fold, too.

How come Steam lets me download the client on my mac if I can't play it anyways? Did I really download the hefty game just to delete it? Should I wait for a patch rather than reinstall later?
