You got the start wrong bro.

    Weekly meeting at ZOS:

"Guys, we did FAN-F'N-TASTIC on Craglorn. It's a super success. People are loading into it left and right. We need more of this. Any ideas?"

(They wouldn't know Craglorn is a failure if they don't read the forums.)

I've never been to Craglorn. Am I screwed for not being able to find anyone to do quests with?

i'm afraid they are going to make same mistake with the new content in patch 1.4 (rank lv up to14, and only group quest)

But i enjoy the idea of arena killing waves after waves with my team>>>> a dream become true^^ ! i hope it will give good xp and loot <3

Probably because you want to do something other than endless grinding. Like play the content and level that way.

ZOS very courteously did this so no one will feel like they're missing out on anything when they start playing Destiny September 9th. Awfully nice of them to give everyone a good excuse to take a month off to play something else by not adding anything worth a *** to ESO.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'll find out how to grind to VR14 in a day and get geared, but after that, it's non-stop Destiny unless update 5 gives me a reason to log into ESO.

THANKS ZOS! I was really worried I might fall behind or miss out on something next month. If you could go ahead an not release anything worth a *** in update 5 too I'd really appreciate the time to play Dragon Age 3 as well. Thanks!

LOL. I really like Craglorn. My witch is VR1, will be VR2 soon and she freaks around Craglorn a lot. She even has one tomb completed, people, they just show up sometimes. ;)

Good supply of various mats as well. A nice place, I don't get the hate.

I am baffled. You are gonna go play a FPS on a console?

    Why?

Come play some multiplayer somewhere. You will not be able to compete unless it's all console. That should give you a clue.

Truth enough , other things to play we arent lacking.

It is hilarious that they admit issues and flaws of the game , just to come and hit the wound even more.

VR lvls are a problem , we will trade them for the champ system.

But oh wait , here are +2 VR ranks.

    Just zen things :P.

It's an extremely multiplayer FPS with RPG stuffs like gear, raids, classes, levels. Should hold me over while I wait for ZOS to get their *** together.

...and if they don't it will be coming to Steam in March :p

The upside of a sub based MMO is I can just wait it out and get more content for less money than if I stick around for stuff I don't want. I've got no shortage of other stuff to play coming out soon, so it's no problem. I'd much rather be in ESO rounding up criminals and jacking people up in the Imperial City, but ZOS just wants to give me Craglorn 2.0. If it was DLC I would literally only buy it to stay up on the level cap and get max level gear...again.

Update 4 is a scores a "Meh" on the content Give A Crap O'Meter. Which is just above "Lame" and just below "Good Enough".

What's the fun for people to just level to the top level and gear as fast as they can then stop playing until next update? I don't understand the appeal to this type of play. Zero fun to it.it's like they just do it to reach that point so they can stop playing again until new content comes out

You guys realize that stuff of the size of this update are in the pipeline for months right? Had they just scrapped everything after craglorn after seeing the reaction to it (which IMO in no way was as unanimously bad as it sounds here on the forum), that would probably have meant months without update while they retooled almost finished content and we would now see myriads of "OMGzs gaeme is daed!!11" posts instead.

Rather be VR14 and geared for when the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Crime System, and Imperial City go live so I don't need to be distracted with a stupid number floating around in the upper left hand corner of my screen and can just focus on enjoying myself.

What better time to do that boring stupid level grind than when there's legitimately nothing being added that interests you?

They can easily release the same content and just scale everything back to VR12.

Or don't. Let that be a small added challenge with the new Craglorn content. The enemies are VR14 and you're VR12.

I'd like to see a poll comparing the number of players who love to group versus solo/casual grouper like myself.

Craglorn is such a PITA right now for anyone who wants to go it alone. Do anything and a mob immediately descends on you.

Could the developers change the AI of the outdoor creatures/NPCs to at least allow us to dabble in higher level content without having to grab onto a bot train and motor through Trials or grinds?
  • eldermpsmithrwb17_ESO
I Love the content, however it relies up grouping with others to be able to do, as i live in Australia this can be difficult. Apart from dungeons i solo the rest of the content and got Tamriel Hero, this kinda makes Craglorn frustrating for me as i cant complete cause i cant get other players to quest

I think their only mistake was thinking that people playing an RPG would prefer to engage in an interesting story and experience instead of mindlessly looking for the next bug to exploit for experience gain.

For those of us (read: all the normal players) who have leveled normally, Craglorn is incredibly fun and challenging. The quest lines in both regions are awesome, and the group instances are as good as, if not better than, many of the VR dungeons.

I have a vet rank 5 toon that I've basically given up on and I'm leveling a new character. I got bored to tears with the silver and gold quests (especially as I'm AD and really didn't want to help the other factions). I went to Craglorn but couldn't really figure out what in the heck I'm supposed to do there as everything can smear me if I solo and there are no groups to be found for quests. The only thing to do in Craglorn is grinding mobs until you get a high enough VR to even be considered for a trial or other end game content.

The major problem with Lower Craglorn was the quest step issue not the area itself. It is much easier to get a group for upper craglorn stuff because there is no prerequisites.

Craglorn was a business decision born in the marketing department (far far away from the logic department) and it really shows.

It represented a dramatic shift in focus to group PvE content and the start of a long period of ignoring PvP issues and development.

If you look at the pre-launch marketing material for this game, you could have sworn that the entire game was centered around two themes: the alliance war and the ongoing Daedric invasion. Craglorn represents nor enhances either of those themes.

It was a quick way to pump out more PvE content to keep people thinking there was more to do and it was definitely rushed out as could be seen by the general lack of QA and huge memory leak it introduced.

It may have succeeded in keeping some PvE'rs entertained but it turned into a huge grind fest for end level all the while PvP'ers were getting their cries for balance, moderation, better performance, and general TLC completely ignored by the development team.

It was a sad turning point in the history of this game.

Us: Why did you do this?

Devs: My loss of control blasted all that you see into terrible existence!

Us: What does that even mean?

Devs: Nobody knows what it means, it's provocative.

    Us: No its not!

Devs: It gets the people going!

Craglorn is awesome for people like me who don't give a flying f**k about questing in the first place. And the zone is quite full of people :).

What will be an outer failure for me will be the new questing zone since it prolly won't have anything interesting to do.

All a matter of perspective. For solo QQers, Craglorn was a failure. For raiders it was big success.

Most amazing thing is that people QQing cuz they are "stuck" at VR10 will also QQ because the new zone will be VR14 at the very least :)

Craglorn... Bringing mediocrity to all... No good for PvE 'cos grouping tools suck so even if you have the time to wait endlessly good luck finding someone to quest with... delves are tolerable but nothing special and also rely on the same shoddy group mechanics... trials for even harder to fill groups...

Basically both releases were a big FU to crafters, to PvP players and to anyone who doesn't play in organised groups of 4 or 12.

This is what happens when the devs won't listen to players unless they are part of one of their special gang of guild pals.

VR10??? Lol, i'm still stuck at VR2. I refuse to do Cadwell's silver and gold so i'm well and truly screwed for levelling purposes. Can't wait till they revert VR points back to XP and I can actually start gaining in levels again....
