ZOS, please don't let Magma Armor go live with its current damage on PTS

I'm a DK, and while I agree that Magma Armor is crappier then Standard in my opinion, and it does need a buff.

It doesn't need the buff in damage that it currently has on PTS.

In your latest patch notes, You fixed it having 10x more damage then it should, I mean it was doing 606 damage for me on test before that, and everyone can agree that's silly.

However I logged in yesterday, and its still around 404 Damage.

I'd rather not have my class nerfed later over this Ultimate, 200ish to 250ish would be fine for the ability, 300 would be overpowered.. 400 is way overpowered....

    It ticks for 264 on a DK I just made on PTS (full magicka 2468, spell power 99) , so i presume it has been adjusted already ( although it still ticks higher than Shifting Standard , which is at 182). What are the equivalent numbers on live?

    Also they should fix the NB ultimate and check all ultimates and be sure that there is no bugs like this.

    It chooses between your weapon power or your spell power on PTS

    since my weapon is vastly higher then spell power, its going for 404..

    I'll sign on and see if they fixed it again just to make sure

    Nobody uses it, perhaps a buff in some way is what it needs. Every DK and his wolfhound is using Standard. I used to use Corrosive armour, a completely defensive ult before they nerfed it's duration a couple patches ago. I've just not found any situations in both PvE and PvP where i consider this Ult worthwhile.

    I gotta ask again, how do they make these errors? is there some line of code far away from the lines of code that dictate what this skill does that also dictate what the skill does, in some other file? lol.

    Still, it would be good if it did a bit more damage than it does live. Maybe ~100 per second rather than ~50. It shouldn't do more damage than standard tho, given that it is primarily defensive, so even 200 would be too high. That would make it better in some ways than batswarm too lol. I saw the 500 too and tried to bug it but the /bug or /feedback windows wouldn't open on patch day.

    Actually checked it again, thought it was scaling with Weapon Damage

    Its actually scaling on stamina, So with 2400 Stamina on test server, its damage is 404.

    if Magma armor is doing more, in addition to its mobility and powerful damage reduction, everyone will use this....

    I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

    Wanted to check to see if it was scaling with Magicka the same as Stamina, and that is why

    Was only getting those numbers

    Seems it does scale with Both..However it scales far more with Stamina...If you're a heavy Stamina Build, its around 150 more damage in comparison

    How about we stop screwing with class spells and fix the underlying problem of destruction staff being the culprit behind nearly all balance issues in this entire game?
    After you remove the elephant from the room you can start the search for the ants like this.

    Nova from Templars is also a scaling pretty nasty as well with stamina on PTS as well

    with softcap stamina, got it up to 477 damage a tic.

    People will still use Standard for the damage increase, decent damage, damage reduction, healing reduction (no idea why people always fail to realize this is one of the extremely few ways to reduce healing), etc.

    Standard simply has way more utility than Magma Armor, even w/ this change.

    400+ is still a bit much, though.

    If magma armor did more damage per second than standard, it would win, because its not stationary. Plus the damage reduced on you is greater than what standard can do (when it works)

    I disagree, since Standard also increases the damage that YOU do to the target while it's active, making the Standard's damage more of a sidenote. Also, it cuts healing in half.

    Assuming you actually can attack at the time or your enemy doesn't move out of your standard like any smart enemy would do.

    It would increase magma armors usability, but then you would see every DK running it. They would probably have to un-nerf dragonfire standard and buff shifting standard. Who would use shifting standard if magma armor does a whole lot more with chaseability? shifting doesn't even give you the damage increase/mitigation, while magma will make all damage do no more than 3% of your max HP, and whatever you morph it to.

    It went live, alright. The damage numbers you can see from it in Cyrodiil are incredible.

    Since I just did a respec and still have lots of points left, I guess I'll have to add this skill. Should be fun as long as they let it ride.
