Selling Price of Basic Racial Motifs

This may have been discussed before but I didn't see it.

I have picked up some of the basic motifs. Nord, Dark Elf, etc etc.

I don't need them and I don't expect they are worth much. How much should I offer to sell them for in chat? I have no idea.

anywhere around 400 to 600 gold each is what i was seeing asked for on those motif's in both common chat and zone chat.

500-1k, though some folks sell a hundred below or above.

I've seen them in guild stores from 850g to 3000g ...if someone wants one, they will buy the cheapest or the one that they can get. 3000g to learn a whole style isn't that much gold either. In the chat I've seen the prices go from 600g to 1500g.

That is on the EU server, I haven't played much on the NA server yet.

1.500 Is the normal price. Remove 300 if you want to sell it fast or add 500 if you need gold badly... might not sell on 1st try thou...

If you are like me, part of atleast 3 trading guilds with 400+ members, then selling those for 1.500 wil only take 30 seconds just by linking the motif in guild chats...

PRO tip :
You said you dont need them. Is it because u know them already? Cuz if not you might wanna use them. Learning all motifs and telling folks you can craft in any style will bring you much more gold in a long term investment than selling the motifs...

I know them on my crafting character.

Too bad I never find the interesting ones. I think I have like 3 or 4 of these things now...I just stuck them in storage and thought I would ask about it. I usually turn zone chat off while I am actually playing so I miss things I am sure. I just can't not look at it so it ruins my immersion a bit so I just turn it off (habits of an RPer I guess.)

And no, I'm not in any guilds. Probably should be but right now I am just having fun doing things at my own pace. I realize many things, including selling these things would be easier with guilds but....far be it for me to take the easy way. lol

I will put these up for sale today or tomorrow. If you know anyone that needs them I would be happy to give first refusal to anyone here that has helped me. I can list the exact ones I have when I get on and look!! :P

Thanks I may do that. I haven't gotten ancient, daedric, barbaric or primal yet. I don't know if I just haven't gone into the zones where those are. My highest character is only in the mid-30's so it is likely I have not.

And completely off topic but is spidersilk really stupidly hard to find or is it just me?

The artifact motifs are found in Vet zones.

Can't remember spidersilk being particularly difficult. If it is a resource found over more than one zone, then you may have more luck when you move to the next map.

Well that explains it.

Yeah in the zones where spidersilk is found and is supposed to be primary cotton seems to be there instead. I have found it and honestly I am not quite up to the level to use it yet so it isn't a huge biggie. I like to have the mats ready for when I go up. It just seems not to be spawning properly.

To extend a bit on @KariTR‌'s correct answer, Barberic and Primal are found in vr1-5 zones(first VR faction), and Ancient Elf and Daedeic are in vr6-9 (second VR faction). Imperial drops everywhere but very rarely.

Guess it is going to be a while before I find those then. I really am in no hurry to level up. In fact I still need to go back and work on the main quest parts! lol

NA = 250-600g for 1-9 (Wailing Prison through Coldharbour)
NA = 8k-25kG for 11-14 (11/12 = VR1-VR5, 13/14 = VR6-VR10)
NA = 30-60K+ for 10 (Anywhere in the game)

EU = 1K-1.7Kg for 1-9
EU = 20-35K for 11-14
EU = 55-70K+ for 10

These prices are as post 1.2.3 and obviously an average.

If you get repeats you can try trading for the ones you need. Got all of mine by looting them or trading for them.

Yeah but since all mine are the lowbie ones's I doubt I will find a good trade. Seems I have 2 bretons, dark elf and ermm....something else. lol Gosh my brain doesn't want to work!!! :P

I have 5 or 6 extra and I have two crafters who use them.

I guess I should do something about them, they are just taking up space.

I'll trade for whatever, I could use a Nord one though for completeness, that never turns up for me. My son is trolling VR cabinets and trunks for me. I make him stuff.

Interesting that the EU prices for the base motifs are 2 - 3 times more expensive than NA. I play on the NA server and those motifs are almost worthless now. If I find one (and I got several in my bank now), I usually can't be bothered to try to find a few hundred gold for it.

NA prices are seriously dropping on the common (1-9) ones, I've been having a hell of a time trying to unload my extras for 500g. They've been going for 200-300 lately, from what I've seen in zone chat.

I've got most weapon traits (don't have my list in front of me now tho) but still need to trade for a few and have a bunch of basic motifs piling up from my recipe farming.
