try nice purple glyph of shock resist on your favorite jewelry that gives around 1000 shock resistance. no need to worry about shock attacks anymore.. the melee hit still hurts though, but blocking helps somewhat.

Some critters should be really tough, especially in veteran ranks. Storm Atronachs and Harvesters are some of the only challenging fights you get in the solo content.

Harvesters? Those are not even remotely comparable to SAs.
The only substitute for victory is overkill.

I solo'd a Veteran 4 stormie the other day that spawned as the last boss of one of those mini-tear events. Very challenging. Cannot be CC'd at all, melee hits like a truck.

As a Veteran 4 Sorcerer I was able to outlast him by dropping Daedric Minefield repeatedly while keeping myself shelled with Hardened and Healing Wards, Dark Conversion when low, taunting him to come near for his PBAOE then dodging out of the moving clouds.

Sometimes I was too low on stamina and had to take one of the clouds (still able to get out of the shock wave), so I ended up using 4 healing potions during the fight. Kept light attack and Elemental Ring spam up to proc instant Crystal Fragments, which didn't stun him but did good damage.

Here's the thing though. There were all these people around just watching me! Some were from my group that just did a Dolmen, some were random passers-by.

When I emerged victorious I felt pretty good about it! :p

This is actually a really good idea to carry a ring with an enchantment for each type of resistance. I think I will start doing that to go with my fire resist ring for vampirism.

Pay someone for enchantment of the fact that you're not a magician with a staff, stupid idea.
Easier and cheaper not doing these quests.

Nerfing drives customers away. Might as well play Skyrim, if you like solo games.

Lol I find it hilarious that we went 5 pages before someone finally suggested that you use some armor with shock resistance against a STORM atronach. lololololololol

I dont want to read every page to see if someone suggested this, but they can actually be soloed even on a nb. First off you can dodge their snare! When they punch the ground just do a roll dodge and from there kite them untill dead. Really its not that hard once you get the hang of it. Also make sure you clear the area of other enemies or kiting will be much harder.

Are they hard? Hell yeah, especially if your not familiar with game mechanics like dodging or kiting, but they can be beaten and honestly if you cant do it then what are you going to do in vet dungeons or trials? Cry for nerfs there as well? Dont you want some challenge?
I wrote a poem that I titled, "The ganker's delight."

As you lay upon the ground, cry not little pawn.
The pain will pass as quickly as my blade did take you,
but my delight will last and you will respawn.
My heart simply cannot contain my joy, when I ply my trade.

The fault lies with you, your skill was lacking.
Now your salt is mine forever, can't you hear the laughing?
Once you were so proud and now you are reduced to this.
    A miserable, loud deuced fool.

With every tear you drip, with every excuse you let slip.
All of your insecurities and worries bring a smile to my lip.
From your despair I have ripped endless glories,
but our affair is over now. Be afraid for I will return for more.

I have received many titles, to my allies I am The sniper Emperor and Grand champion hero of the Pact. However these titles mean little to me, it is the ones given to me by my victims that I prefer. To them I am "Xv1er", "trash", "no balls", "zerger", "noob", "cringe", "no skill", "camper", "100% new", "the reason this game is dying", "pathetic", "a sack of piece of [snip]", "mediocre", "absolute inbred", "beyond a virgin", "ganky dork", "fat smelly 40yr old virgin", "little girl", "daddy", "exploiting loser", and every [snipped] word known to man.

My problem: They run fast, immune to any form of CC, and they're incredibly resiliant. I just can't solo them. I had to give up Storm's call.

Harvesters are hard, but for them you just need strategy. Storm atronarchs just steamroll you.

Even post nerf these two guys were bears, and it was only with the help of this forum that I got by them. (VR9 DK fighting VR9 SA's) The best advice in here is to use Siphon Spirit (Force Siphon morph) and Searing Strike, both of which restore health as you attack. I also kept Unstoppable (Hvy Armor Morph) up to avoid getting CC'd and I had to hit Coagulating Blood a couple of times during the fight too, as well as popping Standard of Might right off the bat.

These kinds of bosses throw me way off my game. My style relies heavily on CC and when I run into a mob who just laughs at my Onsidian Shards, I have to run away and retool. Or sit and wait for someone else to wander by, which can be a long wait in the Vet Zones. But I'm glad I consulted this forum because it reminded me about Siphon Spirit, which I had kinda just forgotten about.

I kept it in my 3 slot, which was my flex slot until I found Volcanic Rune, which is by far the funnest thing in the whole game...yes, even more fun than knocking someone twenty feet backward with a fire staff. You cast it on the ground, either where the mob is standing or where he will have to walk and it blows him into the heavens, screaming for his big fat sweet mama. Stuns them so you have plenty of time to set up the next one. A fun, leisurely way to kill a solo enemy and a nice way to start a battle with a group. Boom...aaaaaaah!!!!! hahahahaha.

off topic there, but I really like it. Thanks for the help with the SA's, posters!

These don't need nerfing, they need a little bit of rethinking of tactics. I am talking as a VR7 nb who solo'd the VR9 SA's in Malabal Tor.

If you can only charge in with a dps face off or die trying mentality, you are going to die trying against these creatures, it's that simple. Tried a few different ways, DW, 2H, Bow ... none were very successful. Read as: I died alot. Went off and got myself a 1h + shield and ran a few other quests in the area, got sword and board to 25, then went back in and they barely scratched me. No lightning resist gear required, no resto required. If you block all of their stuff then they really are kind of kittens. Oh and Don't just stand directly in front of them like a target dummy, or you will get beaten like one. Their frontal attack loses damage if you back around in a small circle, and just stay out of their direct frontal.

    My bar:
    Swallow Soul IV
    Degeneration IV
Shielded Assault I (when it stops, just keep backing away and then use shield charge for the damage shield ... not necessary really, is only on the bar so that I have a sword and board skill on there at the moment, will swap it out later)
    Inner Light II
    Siphoning Strikes II

My current Templar can handle the VR10 version of these pretty easily. The key is siphon spirit, it turns their tankyness against them and give you a steady stream of magicka to help sustain DPS. I usually buff with annulment, inner light, and regeneration, open with siphon spirit, then DPS (keep spear and vampire's bane DOT going, biting jabs and light attack weaving inbetween). I end up casting siphon spirit a second time then weaving between biting jabs when it's low on health. I don't need to use my ultimate, and I don't try to kite/dodge/block, I just try to make my combination of DPS and mitigation better than the atronach's.

I'm pretty sure any magicka based build with siphon spirit that can stack DOTs can do the same thing.

The advice here about using the stairs to dodge them while kiting helped me finish the Storm's Call quest. Thank you. I still hate Storm Atronachs

This is still a problem. Particularly at VR levels. Solo quests shouldn't require killing mobs that have these immunities and deal this much damage.
