People exaggerate everything. Its the nature of the beast. Doesn't help that its been proven to be the only way to get ZOS to listen to anything.

I do agree that its not the end of the world. I played Cyrodiil for several hours yesterday and had a great time, even with this bug.

But it is making it really tough to defend objectives, especially with fewer people. Rams are suddenly viable again (in fact preferred strategy).

The only way to stop people from getting into your keep now is pretty much AoE bombing, which isn't going to work if you're way out numbered or the group you're fighting has any idea what they're doing.

Just feels like keeps are flipping to easy now.

I won't disagree with this because it is 100% true. However there are still viable ways to defend to a degree.

The problem is the groups that are going to put this to its most efficient use are the ones these other tactics would be MUCH less effective on.

I am still at a loss for how this could take so long to fix. I can understand the change to Vampire but this seems relatively simple from the basic knowledge I have of coding and the actual issue at hand.

I really don't think they know how to hotfix. So far they really can only do it in a patch... It's their first game remember, so they're probably a bit amateur.

Which is pretty much how its going to be after they cap the rest of the AoE in this game.

Yeah, comparing this to the Vampire/DK issue is misleading at best. Any fix to that needed to involve changes across multiple skills and an attempt to balance those changes.

This should just require a straightforward fix of an obviously broken ability. And if the testing is time consuming, caltrops should simply be disabled in the meantime. Caltrops is hardly a key ability and it's absence wouldn't impact play in any significant way.

Some of the worst abusing of these exploits that I could think of were used heavily last night by a certain group to completely run the map on the server that we use for PVP last night. Later in the evening as the population dwindled -- mostly logging in disgust -- they started pulling worse tricks out of their bag such as jumping into defended inner keeps.

It was bad. Really bad, and it completely breaks the game. PVP is now unplayable since the exploit has now taken over.

Your group should have all reported them for exploiting.

A smart and wise GM would log into the games and broadcast that this is an exploit and people found exploiting it will receive a 7 day suspension.... then follow that up with a few bans. You have to ACTIVELY police this type of crap or you loose your game -- people will be less likely to quit in disgust and frustration if the see you are trying to do something right-away rather than wait.

Its much the same as having a police force that doesn't bother to try to stop crime in progress but wait and investigate after the fact and make arrests etc.

victim: "911! Help! I'm being robbed. I need help now"
911: "Thank you for calling. The Police have decided that its too much work to actively police the community and try to stop crimes in progress. Please remember what is being stolen and get a good look at the criminals and some police will be by next Thursday to take your statement."
victim: "I think they are going to kill me! You have to help!"
911: "We are sorry but if its that dangerous our liability coverage wont allow our officers to go to that environment. If you are about to die, can someone else then get a look at them and tell the police what they look like next Thursday? Do you think they would let you take their picture before they kill you? It would make our investigation much easier."

Lol what?? You can't be serious...??

Carrying out unneeded bans will cause more people to leave this game than not patching it..

Now we know the devs know and it won't be fixed for weeks. Might want to take down the big sign advertising it to all for the sake of the mean time.

It doesn't matter. Every keep I have defended in the last 2 days, the attackers have used this exploit. It will continue to be that way until they disable caltrops or fix the bug. The reason the big sign is up now and everyone is talking about it is because of how big a problem it has become.

It Does indeed say they have the fix

It however does say that the fix will NOT be implemented until AFTER the next content patch know as Cragfail

No Sir, respectfully, caltrops need to be DISABLED until this fix goes live. You can disable a bank to stop a duping bug. You can disable mail to stop spam. You can disable caltrops too. Its just that simple. PVP has no tactical and/or organizational value left when he with the biggest zerg wins.

Here's the problem with reporting and banning players for this. I do not have caltrops on my bar. Haven't even spent a point on it yet. Yet all day today during an attack, I had caltrops under me. I wasn't in a group or anything, just trying to join in where there was fighting. People are just throwing caltrops everywhere, and anyone standing on them gets the benefit from the exploit whether they want it or not.

You guys all seriously rely on siege weapons to defend your keeps? I mean, I can avoid the oilpots easy enough by dodge rolling away... Is that an exploit too?

How close are they putting siege weapons that this even really matters? What, does it make the vamps that hide in the towers and pour oil down the middle angry?

I have seen the amount of exploits in this game in a lot of MMOs I have played. I remember in SWTOR, there was a bug where you could get knocked out of the Huttball ring, run up the side and pass to your teammate for easy wins. Last I checked it still wasn't fixed, they just ban you if you get caught doing it.

Every time I see someone say "I just won't log in", I laugh. You paid for this, you're missing out. In my head, you're the same people who scream in Burger King because you don't like pickles or mayo or whatever.

It's a new game, it has bugs. Adapt your gameplay style or level an alt. At least there will be a patch for it, that is a lot better than other problems this and other games have faced.

You need to start implementing your bug fixes in small patches not 'waiting' till the big patch. Each new issue sits here unattended for way to long and it is having a very large negative effect on the game.

Just quit now and don't bother to *** about it. What was the point of most of you bothering to say anything if you're quitting subscription? Most people die in a more quiet manner than this.
In all seriousness, explore different tactics than spamming oil pots, like mercenaries. Go back to old school snare and AE... This will be fixed within two weeks as of ZOS post. Go back to PvE or get used to it. That, or leave quietly, because nobody cares how detrimental this bug is to your life.

Yes, actually. They have far superior range and do a fair amount of damage over a wide area. Oil pots may not have the range, but they do a great deal of damage and a few of them can hold a door or other choke point quite effectively.

I think its funny after a week of trying to damage AD with siege weapons and seeing no result all of a sudden ppl are coming to the forums and saying"OK...OK..yea they're broken..time to fixem"...why?..cause someone else caught on to your dirty little exploit secret and now uses that against you?

I watched an AD group of 10-15 set up in a corner tower of a keep tonight with caltrops and sat there for 30 mins taking no damage from siege!!(inside the keep!!) You literally have to fire and fire and fire hoping you hit them at the very moment their caltrops despawn.

Takem out!..quick fix this please today!!..Caltrops aren't good anyways..they're sh** for damage and a minor nuisance for CC..TAKE THEM OUT..Disable them..whatever.

I'm wearysome of playing the "I have more caltrops than you do' game.

So..for the next two weeks when defending or sieging a keep..whichever team has the most caltrop users wins..awesome./sarcasm off

So we get it in 2 Weeks or later?

This shows you much you care about AvA it is like in every game which say the have epic PvP battles and dont work right on the system. With such bugs there must be an emergency patch cause it totally changed AvA.

You now cannot stop a huge Zerg with only 20-30 people from capturing a keep.

You lose more and more player which loved your game, but with your service you destroy all the work.

A good thing is, you tell us that you are aware of it, so it seems communication gets better ;)

If i remeber right ZoS also says EU server will be in EU shortly after launch, if this is your shortly then we must wait 2 month or more :D?

Fix coming after craglorn? This is total rubbish.

Looking at zenimax responses for the level exploits, dupes, vampires and now the caltrops. Zenimax is treating ESO like a singleplayer game where exploits and bugs are not a top priority as long the core game is running fine.

I have seen enough to know what Zenimax is. ESO level of fail is almost on par with Funcom AoC and EA Swtor.

Why should we pay $15 a month for this level of garbage service? Stop subbing to this pos game.
