i feel stealth is over used by people... even people not focused in stealth.

I think the state of 'general' stealth is fine, but I'd kinda like to see the improvements from skill points buffed some. The bonuses from going deep medium need some love anyway, and bumping up the stealth mechanics for them would help make it more effective - bigger radius reductions, faster return to stealth, even faster stealth movement would all be good to see (possibly moving the stealth speed buff from vamps to medium armour, so everyone can benefit, and then giving vamps something nice in place).

sneak (crouch hidden) makes you 100% invisible to other Alliances if not within detect range.

I agree with OP. There should be more difference between nightblades and other classes sneak ability and cost.

Add PvP loot drops for some risk/reward in this game.

Does that actually happen? Only thing I notice is that when people sneak they just turn really dark and blend in to whatever they're around a bit. Would imagine someone crouched in the middle of a road on a sunny day would be very noticeable when you just see a dark figure hunched over.
Zubba beat me to it, but that's only for players in your alliance. Enemy players are invisible.

Dark and blended in is about what I'd expect from Sneak, though. Maybe remove the alliance indicator and health bars over a player's head if they're successfully sneaking so that those UI elements aren't a dead giveaway to enemy players. Increase effectiveness if the player is behind terrain, moving slowly, in the shadows, out of other players' first-person field of vision, etc. I'm not asking for real world realism, I'd just like to see something besides middle of the day squatting on the road invisibility.

Stealth in PvP is a complete @#%$! joke. I'm Wood Elf Nightblade. Stealth is my class and race's major strength... yet, I have any and every Joe Blow with a full set of Heavy Armour popping out of stealth to beat on me like it ain't no thang!

Zenimax, not only have you completely rendered NBs useless and pointless... you've turned PvP into a comical Monty Pythonesque farce.

if thats how it works, they really did mess up stealth, they're treating stealth like invisibility in this game. Where those are supposed to be two different things.

I would perfer the dark blended way for sneak as well instead of squatting down on the road in the middle of break neck daylight.

Stealth for all is fine. Even the field a little, stuff like that.
But no skill point requirements for it whatsoever is definitely NOT ok...

I love the current system, so I vote to keep it as it is.

Give NB the ability to detect hidden players as a buff like haste or Blur so it only goes 10 Sek or so.

And make Heavyarmor drain Stamina faster per piece of Armor 1% more Stamina Drain.

Everyone has access to detecting hidden players -> 1st skill in mage skilltree. Wish that would get fixed/checked though, doesnt work all the time and usualy it will fail you when most needed. All in all i would be perfectly fine with adding a passive of some sort to the NB for the same effect (but not higher).

EDIT: I would also like to have the visibility removed for everyone when detected by someone, the visibility should apply only to that person.

Stupid example: me and my group (blue flag) are hiding, trying to ambush a red group. Single red sneaks by us by accident, we all get detected thus ruining our assault on the yellow group.

Ahh, and also remove the ability of same realm players that are not in your group to see you from miles away while stealthing, detection restrictions should apply to your realm aswell, exception should be when in same group (to avoid confusion).

Sneak is pretty dumb right now. Hopefully with Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood it receives an overhaul, but squatting on a road in the middle of the day shouldn't make you invisible 20 meters away

The only time I've noticed someone actually becomes unable to be seen completely is when they use invisibility or the night blade ability.

Invisibility and sneak isnt the same thing people.

An important part about stealth is maintaining awareness.

Stealth will in the end be a PVP - killer.
Remove stealth completely, give the NB skill tree a smoke bomb thing that last for like 5 sec (area single and group). And add camoflash(Stand still stealth) to all players!

I would prefer to see the non stamina drain on the 5 piece medium bonus. It gives them their playstyle.

At the time it's a little ridiculous how much stealth is being abused, but that's just me.

Yes, lets make it harder for small mans and solo's because you think NB's should be the only stealthers, Because that clearly worked so well in all the other past MMO's

How exactly do you maintain "awareness" of people completely invisible to you?

Be aware of where people could potentially be hiding; have detection potions available.

I comprehend where your issue stems from now.
