NB Get's a fix in 1.2 Patch way to long to wait!!

patrykplawskib16_ESO
So i recently decided to roll around the forums again to check out people opinions on NB class and so did i give my opinion as well on a couple threads and than found out it'l be till patch 1.2 !!! yup patch 1.2 until NB is fixed, is ZOS idiots are they masters at creating peoples hatred for this game as they so desperately are obsessed with getting craglron out and yet its only a month and that will be till patch 1.1 and so i begin to think is it time to end my sub to the game and wait as i play my free bf4 with premium i got from my bud. What worries me is the NB fixes won't be out before end content and well u can u think your self about this, in vr5 zones i can barley solo 2 trash mobs i mean i died to 3 skeivers that were vr5 !!! so how would a nightblade do in the end content quit scary if u ask me and what pisses me off is why are u working on content this early when u should be optimizing, fixing, nerfing, and buffing like other successful games did, well many of us dont know but we do know is that ZOS is the 'All Hale Of *** Creaters of *** MMO's' Thats my title so far for them pfft and they call this a elder's scroll game juts a disgrace, and man can i go on in PVP man do we have the most *** healing abilities ever and our survivabilitie is so crap and were out powered by the dk's and sorc classes and the only 1 build to even get to close to doing good is light Armour attributes in magika and warlocks set only 1 play style and still it does nto get any close quit sad and dissapointing.

VR10, Max health, Magicka, spell resist, 270 resistance to crits, 5 heavy, 2 light, tank build. Sounds pretty scary right? Nope... Class skills suck for PVP, DOT are useless, heals are useless with all the burst running around, Stealth + Hidden blades = I can do math, shield bash costs way less and does way more, in fact just hidden blades X 2 or 3 does more and costs less... great class synergy.

    So disappointing...

My main concern with this is they put out craglorn without buffing Nighblades. Peeople are going to build up this idea that NB is not the DPS to take to those encounters. By the time 1.2 rolls around this will already be stuck in people's heads. Once people get it in their heads that NB = Weak it is extremely hard to change their minds a month later even if the buffs are significant.

I have already had people join groups in VR dungeons and say "Oh nightblade LOL" and leave .. I can only imagine when there is a time limit and limited rezes available in a trial.

Z-Max is doing something...good news at last...I can wait for 1.2. However, whatever they are doing should have been done at the start and not after literally hundreds of complains.

Yes, I am one of the complainers and I got crap for it...some really nasty posts.
All the uber Vampires did fine and the rest of us went down the drain. I killed my NBs. Now I will wait for 1.2 to start all over..

yes, a silver-lining on the horizon at last. Good News :)

I really hope they plan to do more than they mentioned in that reddit. They mentioned buffing some skills hardly anyone uses and nothing about fixing all of the broken abilities. IMO fix first buff later.

Well they aren't used because they aren't viable. When one 'buffs' them to become viable then those skills will be used. There is no set date for 1.2 neither, so it can be very shortly after 1.1. So much speculation on these forums, I guess from the lack of actual communication from the people in charge, but still wtf lol
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

I'm really hoping so! I am really happy with my build, and I currently don't use any skills that I think need a "buff" or anything, but I'm excited for the fixes because quite a few of my skills still bug out or fail to cast while taking my precious magicka.

My build is actually pretty viable and has been nothing but fun so far, but then again it's not like it's some mystery build:

    Bloodmage/Warlock:
    Resto staff
    1. Funnel Health
    2. Siphoning Attacks
    3. Combat Prayer (Resto Tree morph)
    4. Mutagen (Resto Tree Morph)
    5. Healing Springs (Resto Tree Morph)

    Ult: Soul Siphon
    That's my support build

    DPS/AoE Swap:
    Fire Destroy Staff:
    1. Funnel Health (my favorite skill)
    2. Siphoning Attacks
    3. Inner Light (Mage Guild Morph for awesome spell crit)
    4. Elemental Blockade (Destroy tree morph)
    5. Pulsar (Destroy tree morph)

    Ult: Veil of Blades

I run my Support build in group dungeons since I can still DPS with Funnel Health and I tend to out-heal Templars since my Resto staff restores magicka and my Siphoning Attacks basically gives me an unlimited magicka pool. My only problem is drawing Aggro but I run a 5/2 light/heavy so if I start dying a lot I stick Unstoppable (Heavy armor morph) in for Funnel Health and I can pretty much hold my own until the tank or others draw fire away from me.

I run my DPS/AoE build for when I am running solo dungeons or PvE. I usually don't need Unstoppable for this bar because nothing usually survives long enough to get that close to me. However, if they do I usually instead swap inner light for Destructive Clinch (Destroy Tree morph) and that'll CC most mobs away from me. Again Siphoning Strikes is a MUST for this build because you are basically relying solely on your magicka bar.

Overall I feel extremely OP doing dungeons and PvE. I will be honest with you, I don't PvP only because it's not really my thing, but if I decide to start doing it I imagine I won't do bad with my DPS/AoE swap.

Again, it's not like this is a particularly secretive build, it's pretty well-known, but it's definitely the most successful one I've had and I have more fun with this build than literally any other class I've rolled so far. I basically outlast/outmaneuver any amount of mobs I've come across. I definitely die, I'm not on here to brag, but I don't die often enough to rage about it and when I do die it's usually because I get cocky and don't play smart. NB is my favorite class hands down, I'm excited to see how it'll perform once the bugs are ironed out

I also run a staff based Nightmage build and it works really well. It is in no way what I thought I was getting in to when making a NB (Bow/DW) but it works so much better I can't justify trying to play like a typical rogue.

I would love to see NB be viable with DW/Bow and Medium armor but I am currently running around in 7 light with a Resto staff and blowing passed content that I struggled with before.

I play a NB and I really enjoy the class. I have been levelling slowly, enjoying the game. Trying to do all quests, collected all skyshards and just explore everywhere.

    Currently level 30 last night.

I would love to see any improvements ( or should I say balancing ) and fixes they make to NB, and any balancing and fixing that needs doing to other classes.

I think people need to just give them time to get the patches out.

In Vet content can you only solo or can you group up with someone else to progress through...

"Yes. For patch 1.2, we are looking especially at helping to add flexibility to builds with some buffs to the lesser used abilities. For the nightblade, this includes abilities such as Master Assassin, Path of Darkness, Incapacitate, and more"

How the hell will that "fix" nightblade?
    Skills are broken.
Damage in melee is to low.
    Skills cost to much resources.
    Badly balanced stamina/magicka, stealth/lightarmor/mediumarmor.

Adding MORE skills to our already limited 5 skill hotbar wont change anyhing, the skills will still be useless.

To be fair, those were probably just a couple of examples, or a few things that person was "cleared" to talk about. I mean, hey, who knows, that could be all they plan on doing. But I have a feeling the "more" part will include some much-needed fixing. At least, I hope it does.

OMG! You need to read this post a few times and understand his response was to re-evaluate abilities no one is using. Most of the abilities he mentions...arent even broken and yeah not a lot of people use them! Doesnt mean that in the next coming patches they are not going to fix the actual broken abilities for the NB. Usually a developer will fix broken abilities with a class before evaluating reconditioning of abilities, less there are real obvious problems with abilities.

CC is very strong in ESO. If you aren't using active combat, CC and a variety of skill lines you will fail in VR content as a NB

Can't tank 3 skeevers and just spam DPS abilities? Welcome to NB

Problem is ... regular campaign is ez-mode and doesn't teach you to be awesome .. because you don't need to be to get past Coldharbour

I think it is important to state that the hardships of NB is not something you will see in the regular levels 1-50. Most people can roll through content with almost any build and class.

The problems are happening somewhere VR3+ (I dont know myself, I've just reached VR2) according to all the posts I've read on the forum.

I'm curious how it will be in VR3 myself. Can't wait to get there.

The scary part is the don't even want to acknowlede there is an issue with NB. We are going to buff some unused spells but nowhere do they say we realize there is a serious balance issue and a significant amount of passives/spells/attacks that just don't work correctly. If it is their intent to have us be Nightmages to get through VR content or use everything in are arsenal to pick off groups of three one by one then sit and wait for everything to regen then watch sorcs and DK wipe the entire groups in seconds and move right to the next group with no downtime then just tell us so we know where we stand.

That was actually linked further up in this thread but read what they actually said about Nightblades.

Yes. For patch 1.2, we are looking especially at helping to add flexibility to builds with some buffs to the lesser used abilities. For the nightblade, this includes abilities such as Master Assassin, Path of Darkness, Incapacitate, and more. I’m really looking forward to getting that patch out to everyone: I think you’ll be really excited about the changes.

They don't even mention any of the things people are having trouble with it is all about a few spells no one uses. Great if they buff those but I think the vast majority of us would prefer to have to the real issues dealt with first. There are more fixes/buffs planned for the strongest class in the game DK than NB. They also said that we can expect major patches to be 4-6 weeks apart and that is an entire patch after 1.1 which could still be week. So we are talking months before a fix that doesn't even mention fixing broken skills just talks about buffing unused ones. Maybe they plan to put some of the real fixes on 1.1 but when you look at the notes people have posted from the PTS they don't really seem to address it there either.

They're already two weeks late on the mythical 1.1 patch, It'll be what??? August when 1.2 drops. Waiting for something to be fixed when it shouldn't have broken in the first place is not fun. Everyone is talking up patch 1.1 like it's going to fix everything and its happening when, this week, next week, next month? Vaporware.

I feel the general theme of ESO's launch is "wait til the patch".

Melee builds are competitive if not better at single target. That's not the problem.

The problem is that this game is all about AoE, which melee builds don't have as Whirlwind and Cleave suck compared to Impulse/Biting Jabs/Burning Talons.

And then there's the issue of melee's survivability with the amount of damage mobs put out.
