Not going to happen.
A common sense approach for these game developers would be to make the standard "pve" or "pvp" servers with different rulesets. In pve servers, you have the option to toggle a switch that makes your character open for combat, if its not toggled, you don't have to worry about fights. In pvp servers, there is no toggle switch, its permanently "activated" and you can be attacked anywhere at anytime.
Sounds like a simple solution, right? Wrong. Look what happened with UO (open pvp at all times) and other mmorpg games that had open pvp, idiots play the game knowing full well what the pvp rules are, get rolled a bunch of times, cry and whine, and wind up having the rulesets fundamentally changed for everyone. Anyone who played UO in the old days will remember how drastically things changed with the introduction of Trammel. Now it seems like mmorpg that have pvp are shying away altogether from these kinds of rulesets, are simply deploying large battlegrounds, and totally removing the element of mixing PVE and PVP together.
You want pvp? Here's a gigantic & barren battleground peppered with a few trees, oh with mechanics that encourage zerging (AOE caps). Have fun.
For those of us who want a harder game with more consequence (since I cant get xp loss upon death).
Some of us want to play the old school hardcore way. Either we want a harsher xp loss penalty or we want a dedicated PvP server for our own. I would like protection against guild friendly fire and perhaps safe towns (all open to debate).
Alot of us older EQ1 and UO players miss the days when MMOs were a bit harder. We miss that open sandbox feel too. This is the place to show your support and discuss what you want in a harder server ruleset.
((If you dont wish to comment, hit agree please tho, so I can at least see a number count, thanks! If you comment tho, I'll hook you back up with a reaction too!))
(EDIT: This is a thread to show support and to discuss how we could make this work. It is not a thread to give reasons on why you think this idea should not happen, that's not the intent of this thread. The Intent is that ZOE might read this and make a decision on whether or not to give us a harder ruleset server so those like minded people can have a place to play ESO like they want to.)
(ADD: I can agree to no xp loss since pvp would be hard enough, and the griefing (perhaps to a degree) would be allowed, so that would make up for it)

"Seeings as this is an open forum, and in all fairness both sides should be presented in a single thread, and not skewed to look like everyone agrees with this, I shall give my answer to this."
And you are just as free to make your own thread with your own rules. This is my thread. There is no debate on pros and cons of whether or not it's a good idea or not. You make your own, and lay out your intend. I can promise that if you make your own thread with your own rules, I wont come and try to throw it off track.
What you seem like you want to do is to throw your opinion into a thread that is unrelated to the message you are trying to convey. This is a discussion thread for pro-pvp server.
I am not trying to be rude but you insist on giving your opinion, which in this thread is not welcome. You either did not read my OP or chose to ignore it and/or defy it.
You will not convince anybody here that this is not something we (or at least I, even if I am the only one) do not want for ourselves.
That is the clearest way I can break it down. If you wish to discuss anything pro-pvp/hardcore ruleset and how we could make it work, then by all means discuss.
We specifically want what we want, but like I said, my intent is clearly stated. I have read your say and it is noted. This thread isnt skewed because I clearly state what the rules for discussion are. So this is indeed a biased thread.
You have good points for sure, but mainly this thread is for those that are "all in".
Very Respectfully,
Me.

No and maybe. There is no need to segregate the community by adding another server. I actually believe that their shouldn't be a separate EU server either. There's plenty of room in Cyrodil that it feels like open world PvP. I've been caught with my pants down on more than one occasion solo questing in Cyrodil.
sure u can delete NA server and move EU server to europe. i dont mind that at all.

There are of course a lot of issues that come with it. Zone camping, player farming for easy points, etc. There would need to be a lot of effort in balancing the issues along with it. But if done right, there's no better gaming experience in my opinion.

And that's exactly why are you here. Embrace it. It wants you.
No one said it would be easy.
