Lack of Skimpy Armor :(

there is some somewhat skimpy armor in game you just need to look. I wouldn't mind them adding more as long as I didn't have to wear it.

a lot of the armor is texture so its possible to mod it too.

There is enough revealing armour in ESO. Veteran rank 6 outfit which you get by mail is a good example - there are way too many body parts revealed, more than any warrior woman would agree to. In ESO with any armour looking like a tattoo all those revealing outfits look silly. Just look from the side, you will see how something what is supposed to be a fur coat or or metal plate will follow the shape of breasts in every single detail and will even move when you breathe.

Also, as a woman in real life, I am fed up with those half-naked virtual young ladies running around with massive 2h swords in every second game. This is not realistic, you would never go into the forest or snowy cave in such clothes. I also believe that sooner or later (if not already) there will be addons which would change the look of your outfit on your computer. That would be a perfect solution, since the users of such addon would be able to enjoy the sexy bits while other players will not suffer from that.

I don't mind skimpy armor as long as it is skimpy both for males and females. I hate when I see a guy with an awesome armor and then when I try the same armor it looks like a bikini on my characters.

I also prefer it to make sense. I'm perfectly fine with light armor being skimpy since it is basically cloth, and I understand that medium armor is more about movement speed than about proper protection so I don't mind it either, but I would rather not see a lot of skimpy heavy armor sets.

And for people that say "fantasy, magic, everything is possible", no, it is not. A fantasy world have its own limits and rules, magic itself is full of rules in TES, and TES has a established lore that should be respected. Also, in TES games, the (few) skimpy armor sets usually have lower armor value than the regular armor sets, I could notice.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

There are so many things about this game that bugging me right now, however, I have to tip my hat to ZOS for not allowing people to w'hore-a-fy their characters. It looks so stupid and ruins immesion.

Skimpy armor would only mean a lot of nerds playing as half naked chicks, wielding a giant sword like in asian rpgs. I don't want that cause it's stupid and annoying. Sure I would be happy about more variety when it comes to looks, but bikinis aren't the right choice imo.

Most americans are conservative since the company is located there, you should not expect some skimpy armors at all. When it comes to chainsaw massacre where brain parts flies all over, it is pretty normal in america but topless chainsaw massacre will be censored. Just respect others' demands, you can not have a game that everything is just made for you. It is a choice to wear a skimpy armor or not, if you don't like it, turn your head, but let the people who likes it have it as an option.

Edit: Within reason, of course. The problem lies inside the "within reason" part which is totally subjective.

    Well this is pretty disappointing.
    ...
but seriously what is wrong with a bit of sexy? my friend who is a girl seems to like wearing them and there are some who don't like wearing them but guess what, nobody is forcing you to wear them!

    ...
Gosh, do you really think skimpy equals sexy?
I feel sorry for you

No thank you. When you grow up you'll understand (hopefully).

    Nothing against skimpy armor.
They have always been part of franchise in one form or another.

On related note, i'd like armor that protects my neck.
most chest piece + helmet combos i've tried leave my throat wide open.

If light armor isn't skimpy enough you could try wearing no armor.

I guess you could ask ZOS for more underware options in Creation too.

I'm glad that this game is not a Tera or WoW clone. Sexy does NOT equal minimal armor, and sexy does DEFINITELY not equal slutty. Completely agree with what @Faolanhart said below.

One of the many things I like about this game is that it gives me something I want but hardly ever get, the ability to have both my male & female characters look badass.
If you want chainmail bikinis there are a million other MMOs out there you could play.
If however you want your female characters to look cool & not like medieval themed hookers than like me you'll be happy with the armor in this game.

Exactly. There are more than enough MMOs which fill the niche of having underdressed female warriors. You're more than welcome to play those. People who don't have... Lord of the Rings Online and Elder Scrolls Online, far as I recall, where we can make our female characters look awesome rather than nuded up.

If you really need to see your character's boobs when you're playing, take low level bosmer medium armour. Or that absolutely terrible orcish heavy armour.

Just keep looking I've been mostly wearing only the tops of my armor b/c I find them cute on there own. ^_~
But lets see as far as pants go there is not really anything out there skimpy wise yet that I have found.
Just keep looking and pray for modder coming up with something.

So many arguments about "revealing" outfits in ESO... In general, I believe, the Elder Scrolls world and environment never had too many of those. Sure, a few examples here and there, but they are the exception.

The Elder Scrolls are possibly the only, and longest running, series of games, where "realism" prevails over "fluffy" or "provocative" stuff. Still a fantasy world, but come on...

It really is not, never was, and I hope never will be, one of those Korean / Asian games where we get all that "nudity". If you ask me, I don't mind at all, on the contrary, I have played them for years, and of course, most of my characters have been the "prettiest" possible. However... Having a heavily armoured knight / warrior in full advanced plate, hoping around smacking things with huge weapons, shields, etc, and virtually wearing next to nothing...

I do not think this is the kind of stuff we are used to in Elder Scrolls and ESO. Again, I am NOT saying it is a bad thing. It would just not fit with the whole Elder Scrolls concept.

And if we really want to take the argument further, fine, why not then introduce not just "revealing" armour sets but costumes as well. The aforementioned games are full with them, their shops rely heavily on them too. But... really... we want to see females in ESO running around in tiny bikinis, thongs and the like? We could also have breast (and other parts) sliders and "enhancers" to further boost sizes...

All good stuff, just the one question still is... Where would all that really fit with the ESO world and whether we would like to turn it into a real carnival. Otherwise, personally, I don't mind at all.

It is simple, just make it skimpy for BOTH male and female and then nobody should have any problem with it. Unless it contradicts the lore. Or the colors are off. Or it is simply ugly. Okay, someone will always have a problem with it.

Btw, I'm a woman and I only play female characters. I want them to look powerful. Skimpy is alright, as long as it still looks like I'm good at kicking people's behinds. I think Almalexia's outfit is a good example of skimpy armor that still looks awesome.

I don't disagree at all. Almalexia's armor is perfect.

The reason you don't often see skimpy male armor, is because of the difference in fantasies. For instance... I'm a 300lb man that loves cheeseburgers... but in my games, I'm a muscular powerhouse of a man. That's my fantasy.

For my wife, she's an attractive brunette, but her characters are generally slightly taller than she is in RL, and she wants to be a gorgeous blonde with skimpy armor in her fantasy games.

It doesn't always have to be that way... all I ask (and most others) is that there are options... heck, we're not talking about bikini's all the time, just give some more attractive options for those that arent roleplaying some sort of nun.

I will agree that there could be more clothing options than there currently is. And as a woman, I understand that you want to look more feminine. I would love it if clothing/armor was more customizable.
But I think some of the armors are already quite skimpy, in comparison - for example Bosmer or Argonian tops, which show a lot more than other armor types.
