Lack of Skimpy Armor :(

socomhdsb16_ESO
Well this is pretty disappointing.
First no transmogrification which I'm hoping it will be release eventually.
I just don't understand why there is so very very very very extremely few of them in the game? Even Skyrim and Oblivion has some.

This is probably the only MMO that lack any Skimpy armor while other games such as WoW and Guild Wars at least has some for those who do like them. It is also the most popular armor to transmog with, hence the high price on the auction house in World of Warcraft. Revealing armor are also the most bought armor set in Guild Wars gem store. Why? because they look good.

but seriously what is wrong with a bit of sexy? my friend who is a girl seems to like wearing them and there are some who don't like wearing them but guess what, nobody is forcing you to wear them!

please don't tell me it isn't realistic because this game is a fantasy game!

Well I'm hoping things changes because my friend and I are really disappointed with the absolutely lack of revealing armor.

You must not have seen some of the stuff available in ESO yet. It's on par with that.

It is. Check out some of the Breton armor, or some of the caster gear. One in particular looks like Forsworn, just with a skirt.

Unless you're just trying to argue and don't actually want the gear, you just want a provocative topic.

As long as the armor value is adjusted to compensate for the lack of protection go for it. I do shudder at the thought of codpieces of stamina though

Is that modded Forsworn armor? Doesn't look like it. Their armor was fairly skimpy in the first place.

And for people saying there was never revealing armor before: Forsworn outfits, nocturnals, completely topless mobs in Daggerfall... yeah. I'm with you, we don't need skimpy outfits to have a good game, but it's important we argue from a position of facts.

ESO has skimpy armor on par with Forsworn already, which OP seems to want. OP should therefore be content.

I prefer classy over skimpy, especially in ESO. It would destroy immersion to see half naked female characters fighting things. I guess I could tolerate it if you would take more damage with more skin shown and have to repair far more often.

That's a better argument. Now we can talk.

I'm not interested in skimpy armors in the slightest, but I wouldn't mind if they were an option. Choice for everyone and all that. Within reason, of course. I haven't seen all armors in ESO though. Are you sure there aren't any more revealing styles? Like the ones ShinChuck mentioned? Barbaric or Primal might be, I'll have to check. From standard styles i think Bosmer clothing is the most revealing. Orcs have a boobwindow in heavy armor, it's just awful, but if you like these things...

No skimpy armor is one of the best things about this game.

If you want skimpy armor, you can choose not to wear certain pieces of armor and suffer the stat penalties, as you should.

gosh people take this game to seriously! just because of this, it has to be like this because it would be more realistic! in a fantasy game. Yeah good argument there.

Remember, because of the genre you have a number of ESO players that take the game seriously. They have been playing their genre forever so can you blame them?

Regardless, some of us want it to be at least reasonably believable and not having people wielding 12 foot swords one handed.

So yea, you might notice some taking it more seriously than others.

But as someone else said, if the new look has drawbacks inline with the look, go for it.

Skimpy armor is useless. Might as well run around naked or do you think skimpy armor will even have the slightest protection in combat lol
    Its immersion breaking
I really hate to have to look at skimpy armors in other MMOs all the time already. Thanks to the gods that they didnt add any here.

Yeah, bosmer armour is pretty skimpy. Frankly, I don't really want anything skimpier than that in the game - it's right at the limit of what I consider to be acceptable without feeling like this game is something I'd see on skinimax.

Having said that, I kind have less of a "realism" issue with skimpy pieces of actual armour granting protection than I do with cotton pants granting protection. I'm OK with ignoring that for the sake of game balance, though.

My sorcerer's completely neck to floor dress shows off plenty on my Breton already, thank you very much. Then again, I based it off someone I know, so chest is scaled fully to the right. S'my own fault.

Imperial light level 14 dress, guys, it's hilarious. Shows off more then my Khajit version did without any skin at all.

I really need a screenshot of it, I'll get one when I get home.

On topic: As a female gamer, I love sexy armor. But sexy doesn't need to be skimpy.

So far Im happy with the armor styles, I've personally never really liked the 'chain-kini' look because its just silly. However, I understand that not all players feel the same as I do, amd I'm sure some time down the road a custome or transmorg option will be available, I just think it's a little early to complain it isnt available or your prefered style isnt available. The game just.released, there are bigger issues to worry about. TES has never had incredibly skimpy outfits in the vanilla versions, so no one should be surprised they arent in ESO.
Most games never start with a wardrobe or transmorg option, i assume this will be the same.

I wouldn't mind if they added more armor styles, even skimpy ones, but always maintaining a good taste. I'm more worried about the lack of light armor jerkins. They can be looted, but not crafted, so we're forced to wear loong and boring robes that hide our pants :(
