Better support for colorblindness?

I (and I'm sure many others who're colorblind like me) would greatly enjoy it if it was made a little more obvious what alliance someone is on. Even with icons turned on, I have a hard time figuring out who's who.
Could there perhaps be more simplified icons, like a square, circle, and triangle instead of banners with icons on them?

I've seen people give this feedback in so many games. I'm surprised it isn't standardized to use shapes as much as color TBH.
