Molag bal fight?

Jeffreylane409
How the hell do you beat him? i'm a VR1 breton dragonknight using 2 hander and duel wield in 7/7 med armor, and no matter what i do i get stomped as soon as the damn titans come out.

and heres something else to make it harder.. i'm a vampire. so i have less then 30 minutes to get from the start , thru everything, including the damn story scene, and beat him before i get a debuff to my fire resist. oh and ya think being a breton with magic resist passives would help on that.. Wrong!

seriously, i do everything i can, i block his attacks, avoid big red circles and flames breaths, but once those titans drop.. game over.

what am i doing wrong? what broken mechanic in this game should i be abusing to get past this?

oh and add a suggestion: make the vampire stages longer! they are way to short, no other Elderscrolls game had such a short time for it, why does this? hell, most of Coldharbour has 0 things that you can feed on, and once your past the final waypoint to fight molag bal, there is nothing at all. change this.

First hint: you take extra fire damage regardless of which stage you're in.

Second hint: if you block the titans' attacks, they will be reflected, killing them.

Molag Bal is like the easiest boss in the game, once you know how to beat him. htoncic 2nd hint is the key!

it's not listed in stage 1, so i thought it was gone.

and didnt know about the blocking part, will have to try that later.. after i go back and feed again, then run all the way back thru the place.

You are a god in that phase, i kill the titans in 3 hits, so i used my aoe and beat the crap out of them, im a templar and than i just use heavy and light attacks and healed myself.

I'm a heavy/shield Nightblade. Werewolf, but I don't use it. The only time I worried about blocking was for heavy attacks. I just ran circles around him at close range, as that keeps you out of directional AoEs for 90% of mobs in this game. As someone said, you're buffed like crazy so the titans die in a few hits. Focus on the adds one at a time when they pop and you should be able to down them in a few seconds.

The only way I could see having any trouble during that fight is maybe if you play first person and either bounce targets or are not seeing attacks from behind you.

I laughed when I realized this. Of course I read this after I took a Nightblade and Templar through the fight. Still beat it but this would have made things easier.

I am such a newb sometimes.

That's ok Yankee... I'm a shield spec and I still didn't know that till I hit the forums. I just killed them the good old fashioned way... repeated stabbing and bludgeoning about the face area.

I usually play in first person, but I found this fight much easier in third person view. In first person those flaming balls hit you out of nowhere, but in third person you can see them coming and dodge.

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.
