4/5 lights of meridia too, and I chose the warrior at the argonian village.
Hope this choice is not preventing us from getting the achievement.

I want to have that archievement

Same here. I even chose to kill the Hrist tree (the pro-scholar choice that few here chose) and still didn't get any crystal from it.

Yea possibly related to another choice, or simply a bug.

Like I said, you can't simply "miss" the lights. Each time you need to get one, the related quest will give a quest objective "pick up the light of meridia". So if you did the related lines, you got them all. If it didnt count, prolly a bug. If you didnt pick up all 5, you managed a different choice in a quest then me most likely. No other way I can see it being.

How about the major choice for the fighters guild main west quest ? (Side with elves or lamias?)
As that quest 100% definitely results in a light ( I had it up on screen on achievement tracker and remember that one clearly). I choose elves and murdered the lamias with extreme prejudice.

(Result of this choice was a light inside the lightless oubliette, and some pretty bad ass elves helping me in the final battle, they wiped out a whole pack of daedra iirc)

One of my guildmates has just completed the quest at the Argonian village, and he chose the mage. He had the last light of meridia.

So yes, apparently when choosing the warrior, you cannot get the light of meridia. Please fix.

I'm also at 4/5. I chose the argonian fighters, so maybe that's the problem.

I was thinking: Hey, I'm gonna kick Molag Bals a**. So, why should I sacrify the hist, if it could just recover, once Molag Bal is gone?

    That's annoying....

The argonian warrior told us he would help us against Molag Bal, but he was not present. This is a bug I think.

Daedric princes have this way of coming back to life... Happens a lot.

So to assume/think you could permanently kill molag ball, is essentially arrogant, and thus also the more "evil" choice imo.

So imo the only way to truely help the Argonias in the long term is to either find a way for them to leave cold harbour (not a choice in that quest) or help them align with a different daedric prince (Meridia, if they leave and go to the city).

seems to make no difference, collected all five, only one resides within the chapel at the end anyhow. not sure if its an over sight or bugged, but i did get the achie. Also, the Argonian village will only yeld its shard if you side with the scholars.

You use up a bunch of them during the final battle quest, so that would explain why not many are left in the chapel at the end. Possibly exactly 4, explaining why 1 is left. Tho i dont remember the exact count. (They are used up to destroy the anchors).

Yes, he'll come back. But first we don't know, how long this takes, and second by killing him he loses control over the hist.

This quest with the Argonians where you choose to side with the mages or the fighters doesn't seem to matter, because I just did it and it doesn't contain a Light of Meridia at all. The quest is called "Wisdom of the Ages", and I just finished it, having chosen to side with the mages. I didn't get any Light of Meridia from it, nor was one ever even mentioned.

Once I chose to side with the mages, the fighter wanted me to fight his champion for them to agree, but I was able to skip the fight with an Intimidate option. Then I just had to walk over to the the tree a short distance away and press 'E' to destroy the "Vampiric Shard". Talk to Teeminder Xohaneel who's standing right there and you're done! No Light of Merida involved, ever.

Upon making the choice on who to side with, the quest ended with a couple mouse clicks and a press of the 'E' key, all near the Hist tree.

I believe this is the complete list for all 5 Lights

    • Library of Dusk - On the hovering platform at the end of the quest (before you jump down)
    • Tower of Lies - Next to the Portal at the end of the quest
    • The Light-less Oubliette - First room inside, on the left side under the tree (move the branch)
    • The Vile Laboratory - In the middle of the last room finishing the quest.
    • The Aragonian Village (Side with the Scholars, allow the Hist tree to die.) Thanks @Sadae for confirming this does not reward a Light of Meridia

I allowed the Hist tree to die and gained a light of Meridia, I had not found The Vile Laboratory when I originally made this thread, The List was copied from earlier in the thread (thanks @Danjok ) and I added the Aragonian Village. Waiting on confirmation of a 5th location.

I cannot confirm nor deny that, All I know is I chose to let the Hist tree die and I gained 5/5 after finding the Vile Laboratory.

I just got my achievement for this, and I never got a Light of Meridia from the Argonian village. I got mine during the quests:

The Library of Dusk (Outside platform before you jump down)
The Shadow's Embrace (The Lightless Oubliette)
The Soul-Meld Mage (The Vile Laboratory)
Truth, Lies, and Prisoners (Tower of Lies)

There doesn't seem to be a fifth location. I think the one in "The Soul-Meld Mage" counted twice, because you pick it up, place it in a "Dwarven Power Mechanism", then later take it again. I can't be positive, but I combed through my bazillion screenshots twice and can't find anything else.

What I can say for sure is that those 4 quests gave me one. And the quest "Wisdom of the Ages" (Haj Uxith) in the Argonian village did not (I sided with the mages), and I see no evidence it gives one at all regardless of who you side with.

I finished this before finishing "The Army of Merida" if that matters.

I think i might missed the one in the light-less oubliette, since people here are telling me to 'look under a tree'. No idea, but it is not good that we cant finish this archivement. I tried to go back, but no idea how to get inside again :/

Isnt there anything which cant be done about it? :/ its no fun to miss this even when you did all quests in this area.

As you can see, you HAVE to pick it up before you can continue the quest. It's an actual quest step.

We should have green confirm that if there is any achievements that is missable.
I thought the last light I needed would be tied to the Pirate Ship questline, but after having completed it, there was no mention of a light of meridia anywhere.
So back to guessing where the last light would be, starting to feel like my 61/62 Shadowfen quest achievement -.-

Here are screenshots for the other ones. As you can see it's a quest stage each time, and you cannot proceed unless you pick it up.

The Library of Dusk (Outside platform before you jump down)
    gcuBZ.jpg
    The Soul-Meld Mage (The Vile Laboratory) {1st time}
    BfsxA.jpg
    The Soul-Meld Mage (The Vile Laboratory) {2nd time}
    fi0qE.jpg
Truth, Lies, and Prisoners (Tower of Lies)
    Ft3Ml.jpg

As you can tell, I take a LOT of screenshots, so I always have a good record of what I did when I need to know. I see nothing for a fifth Light of Meridia beyond taking the same one twice in The Vile Laboratory. (Having temporarily placed it in a "Dwarven Power Mechanism".) I can't help but think that one really did count twice because of it.

BTW, it doesn't register that you've got the Light of Meridia until you turn in the quest. After turning in the last one here is the achievement being received:

Thanks for sharing these pics, I finished all quests in coldharbour (i also have the quest achi) but I am on 4/5 meridia shards. I really have no clue how this can happen :/

The Shadow's Embrace (The Lightless Oubliette)
The Soul-Meld Mage (The Vile Laboratory)
Truth, Lies, and Prisoners (Tower of Lies)

These count for 4 of the 5 lights. I was in a similar situation. I had 3/5 and the only place I had not been in that list was The Vile Laboratory. I went back just now and completed it and was rewarded with a single Light of Meridia in the Achievement. I now have 4/5.

Still searching for the last one...

I'm stumped. I can't for the life of me figure out how I got the fifth count, even with all my screenshots. I wish I thought to keep checking the achievement to see whenever the count went up. If anybody else hasn't started this quest yet they should do that, and take screenshots every time and note what you did to get it.

Hmm not sure it matters much in the game if you have 4 or 5 registered, however it should be fixed or at least clarified for everyone having issues.
  • r_hayterb16_ESO
Has anyone ever found out where the fifth light is? I have 4/5 and believe I have done every quest in the area. Customer services are telling me to go back and look more carefully, but you can't go back once you have completed the quests. Finding this very frustrating. I sided with the fighters at the Argonian village.

Well, arent achivements is something meant to be a knowledge based things ?
I mean, if you really want to get an achivement, you have to first learn how to to get it and then dont forget to make a correct choise.
If you happen to miss or make a wrong choise you will have to comeback and do it again.
This is totaly normal and this is how the things work in every game with achivements.
And having missing achivements is not an issue in any way.
However, there is only 1 way of doing it again in ESO- create new character.
    - Achivements are account wide, so they would count for your main.
