Harvesting Medium Armor Mats (Leather)

I'm going both Blacksmith and Clothier. I have zero problems harvesting more than enough plant fiber for light armor, and more than enough ore for heavy armor.

But I've found it's really quite a grind coming up with enough leather for a full set of medium armor.

Is it just me?

The funny thing is, while grinding specifically for medium armor mats, I always wind up with so much more ore and plant fiber just by stopping to harvest in between bear/wolf/skeever kills....

Kill mudcrabs, they drop rawhide scraps as well. If you kill all the mudcrabs you see you should have no problem

I have found it way harder to farm ore than hides. It seems like everything I kill drops hides.

Wolves, bears, skeevers, alit, harpies, bats... Kill everything. Everything. Stuff isn't going to meander around Tamriel with a sign saying, "I have rawhide skin! Kill me please!"

You need leather? I can't speak for the other 2 areas but if you are Ebonheart Pact, just go to Crow's Wood and kill wolves by the truckload. They come in packs of 5 and if you have a good AoE you can gather 2-3 packs at once and *poof* problem solved in minutes.

Also a tip from another post was to improve your skill using the light armour mats, then only use the leather to make your real stuff.

This is what I've been doing and it works pretty well.

+1 for farming the wolves in Crows wood for mats as well. They're on a fast timer and you can do it just inside the entry point.
