Doesn't change the main problem here- Zenimax needs to extend early access to the people who already qualified for it... it's too easy, and only makes sense with the sheer amount of problems caused by ending access before most people have received their copies in the mail.
BTW watch out bro. People already have your account handle, that's just one step closer to brute-forcing your password and hacking your account. Stay safe.
If that was a threat thinly veiled with the delicious glaze of stupid internet-badass; GL brute-forcing a 16-dig pwd w/ caps, lowers, numbers, and special characters.
I taste the shame you feel at overlooking the OPs actual problem in your haste to try and say something witty. It's delicious. Backpedal more, "bro".
And I overlooked OP's problem in favor of yours, simply because it's hilarious. 21st century and you don't even have a credit card? Do you live in a mud hut too?

I think I found the issue here. Your plan was flawed. As they were totally upfront about it and everywhere that sold it very plainly stated.
"A persistent internet connection is required to play Elder Scrolls Online account and subscription are required to play"
This is not their fault it is yours for not reading and making a plan without information that was right there the whole time

This is not new to any MMO.
Plus you posted here, so anyone can reply to a public thread.
It is my understanding that the charge will be refunded, but seeing as it's Sunday, it won't happen until tomorrow or sometime next week. It's an authorization charge that happens automatically done by computers, but it takes a real person in the bank to handle the refund. I could be wrong.

EXACTLY.

Just because it's not a new practice makes the practice right?
Yes, especially when the terms of use explicitly indicate the need for a legitimate billing account be established for access. Not only that, but who in their right mind would ever pay $60 or more to buy a game which is CLEARLY subscription based only to expect (and demand) one month of free game time? It's also blatantly obvious that the 30 day grace period is a gratuity for the initial investment, and not some kind of Jedi mind trick to lure hapless, poor people into playing, again, a subscription based MMO.
My words are not meant to offend, but they are firm because this seems insane to me for people to be so upset about this. You need an active and valid payment method to play...period. The goal is to allow you to pay for a subscription, which in turn pays for the development, advertising, pertinent costs and future production of a massively multiplayer online role playing game which is most certainly NOT free to play.
My parents educated me, perhaps that may be the problem. My father would tell me, "nothing in this world is free," and I learned from it. Then again, there are free to play games...and torrents...and bingo. Who can hate bingo, really?
I never buy anything without first reading the details. Not an insult, just an observation. Another skill I learned, not from parents so much as the military. Attention to details. The practice is wrong, plain and simple. If you've just been able to buy anything you wanted the moment you wanted it your parents didn't teach you about personal responsibility.

the main problem is they released the game but not the retail time cards along with it.I never buy anything without first reading the details. Not an insult, just an observation. so I didn't use a valid payment method when I purchased the game? Is my card less valid now because it doesn't have the amount on it they're asking? They are asking me if I have the money 30 days before they charge me for it. I can certainly say that my card was plenty valid when I purchased the game. This isn't just a pre auth, it's an inquiry into my personal finance and it is wrong. Even though I have this card associated with my subscription, it failed to the preauth because I didn't not have the full months on it.
