Currently, the only thing I want in the game is Blueprint: Breton Trellis, Wooden.
My options are:
1) Open containers in a Glenumbra house & port to reset the containers endlessly. Mind-numbing boring.
2) Buy the recipe for 3 million+ gold
3) Unsubscribe. Stop playing the game for a few months or a year. Keep checking the price on the recipe until it eventually drops to a reasonable price.
We need better options than mind-numbing opening containers to acquire a furniture recipe we want. This is an MMO with FUN dungeons. Multiplayer stuff to enjoy. A reason to use my healer build!
Yet none of the fun multiplayer activities reward me with the best furniture recipes. I'm stuck alone and opening containers until Sheogorath would be proud of how close I get to insanity.

Your entire gameplay grinds to a complete halt over one furnishing plan?
You can't give the required mats to someone who does know it to craft it for you?

Lovely you have good RNG. Guess what! Not everyone does.
Here's the statistics math (that ZOS seems to forget) Now this assumes a furniture plan drop has been generated from the table. This does NOT account for the fact that furniture plan drops are only about 25?% of container drops in general.
1. Apparently the "new" Breton plans were put in the Homestead Set. This is the most frequently dropped set. Good start at about 75% there. (100% in base game, about 75% in DLC zones, so I went with 75%)
2. Breton is 1/9 (or 10 if including non-racial) sets in Homestead. Down to 7.5% chance.
3. There are ~30 new plans, and let's assume 200 original in the "Breton" set. 1.125% chance
4. There are 8 purple plans. Down to 0.3% chance.
5. Factor in ESO/ZOS math where 1% chance of nirncrux drop is really more like 0.25% chance and we're down to 0.075% chance.
This math does not factor in the weighting towards green/blue that is very obviously present, as I haven't bothered to track that weight.
Still, for most people - farming this plan is not realistic. Also these are NOT in the Furnishers Documents envelopes, or at least not in the 500 or so I purchased.
Basically, don't ever expect to have these plans unless ZOS likes you and you actually get drops. For those of us who have the worst drop rates in game, might as well stop playing.
I personally have found 2 new purples - 1 per MONTH (with daily searching). I sold them far below market because I don't think people should be paying 5+M for these.

Oh! I also want the Breton Drapes, Maroon. Recipe is going for 6 million. Do you remember which location you were in when that one dropped?
By "grinding", do you mean opening containers?

Where did I say that I have a good RNG? I shared information that you do not have to do it in Glenumbra/Rivenspire/Stormheaven (which lack good container farming spots) and listed the plans that definitely can be obtained outside of those zones.

You DO have good RNG... I have found 1 blue, 1 green, and 2 purple from this set, TOTAL in the same amount of time. You have found almost double that!

Did you farm in the locations I mentioned? Did you do it the same manner I did (explained in my previous post)?

Feel like it's too much work to get results? IT IS. But apparently we're not playing Black Desert Online now, and that's not what I signed up for.
Wait, no, it's worse than BDO... at least grindy games have a "pity" point. ESO has no such thing.

I farm in Glenumbra mostly because I'm pickpocketing as well for the new furnishings there.
My drop rate overall in game is generally the same in all zones.
Sorry I'm not a "farm where this guy says" because YOUR RNG is not MY RNG. Some characters/accounts have better chances at different things.
If you're taking my comments as being sarcastic they weren't meant that way.

Edit: and MY RNG has nothing to do with it. Outcast Inn is good because it's door resets the containers, and Broken Light Temple has a gazillion of urns. Som they are logistically better farming spots than anythong you can find in Glenumbra.

Glenumbra is AWFUL for new plans (pickpocketing included), and've been complaining about it here on the forum. So, once I learned that plans drop elswehere, I abandoned Glenumbra completely.

Oh btw it didn't drop, I wanted it so I brought it. My luck on the new plans has been absolutely awful!!
I agree it would be an improvement if actually playing the game rewarded furnishing plans. Being able to get them from containers should be a nice bonus on the side, not the sole method of earning them. It makes housing feel stapled on, not a core feature of the game. It doesn't dovetail well with any other kind of activity, and it's not immersive.
This is unpopular opinion probably, but no one needs to get everything in a game (same as in life).
I understand OCD (I have one, I was once 14 furnishing plans close to know all of them).
One of the possible playstyles is to get hundred of millions of gold by speculation on the market, then buying everything you want.

How do I find such a person?
I've asked in every guild Discord I'm in. I've even sat around and asked in zone chat.
The furniture drop rate for the new purple furniture recipes is that bad. I'd friend whoever knows the recipe for life.
I need about 50 of that furnishing. If anyone knows it, speak up. I will happily give mats.
