The whole "discord is a data mining service" argument makes me smile... as if zos/microsoft wouldn't mine the [redacted] out of voice chat too? Aren't there already weekly complaints that their AI ban-bot is trolling through our text chats? Anyway, I personally wouldn't want them to spend dev time on this and I'd immediately disable it in every possible way, but hey if they add it for people who wanna use it, whatever I guess! From their past statements, doesn't seem like it's on the agenda.

I've played on consoles and I've heard the kind of voice chat that goes on there. As long as people can opt out of hearing it, I don't see an issue with it — it's reminiscent of other multiplayer games.

Though, I understand that it could be considered a waste of resources that would be better spent elsewhere.
