Still no added incentives for Pure class

I’m still not seeing any meaningful changes to incentivize Pure class. Subclass was introduced as an option, not a requirement. Groups in discord are seeking X/Y/Z skill lines for even the most regular vet trials.

Please consider adding unique benefits to pure class to keep its play style viable and respected!

    I don't think this is necessary.

    It is necessary for the balance of the game.

    Sorcerer just got a nerf because of it. DK already had their sustain gutted by the previous patch. Why am I being punished for staying purely on DK?

    Can you please articulate why it's not needed? Just from a DPS perspective. If you don't subclass, you are hitting around 20-40% less. Tanks/Healers are in the same boat.

    You know how it could be fixed, ESO used to have such a fix in place for being overpowered but they removed them, the solution would be to simply reintroduce Softcaps to the game

    Sure a Herald of the Tome, Assassination and Aedric Spear Class could reach 160k DPS now but if they added Softcaps

    Being able to reach 160k DPS would mean nothing if they capped damage at 100k DPS, no enemy in the game should beable to take more damage than that within the span of 1 second from a single player.

    Eh, no. During the softcaps era we also had a single-class meta. It was the era of the dks back then.
    Even if they would reintroduce softcaps for some reason, it won't change the arcanist meta. Beam playstyle is still by far the easiest, it's ranged aoe dps and it has good sustain and survivability, and with subclassing it also has a really strong execute. The only way to shake this meta is to boost other dps playstyles.

    Don’t hold your breath for this.

    I don’t see them doing this. They barely did anything in these patch notes other than nerf a bunch of stuff and introduced very half baked changes. Zero buffs to underperforming lines and that’s significantly easier than creating a system that enhances your stats based on how many skill lines you have true to your native class.

    What it looks like to me, regardless of if we feel it’s a good idea or not, is they’re tripling down on wanting everyone to subclass and if you don’t want to, there will be heavier and heavier downsides over time.

    I feel like subclassing is much easier for them to balance since they can focus on individual lines and the META, but that just guts pure classes.

    Pure class gap is very concerning and still not addressed.
    On the contrary, class skills getting hammered to fit the subclass balance is tearing pure class balance apart.

    What any incentive will help 1damage/1tank/1healing line compare to someone running 3x damage lines?

    Ideally zos would balance each line individually on its own as a cohesive kit. Funny enough as bad as daedric summoning is, it does play into all 3 fairly well. Problem is that every other skill line doesn't do this, so now its so far fallen behind.

    It is, because now it started what players have predicted: Class nerfes due to subclassing.
    They even changed all the unique Ulti-gen options due to subclassing, where you could build combos around Ulti-gen.

    They are forcing you to subclass now.
