Would be zero surprise, then the question is whether they address it before Vengeance returns. If players are still getting nuked by double bows when Vengeance hits, build Cyro will lose a critical mass and die.

What's truly baffling is that the performance test, Vengeance, is now looking like a legitimate better choice for Cyrodiil. I didn't like Vengeance initially due to its simplicity, but it's becoming a more appealing option day by day. This is only because ZOS has utterly destroyed the current Cyrodiil experience. The dumbed-down version of Vengeance is becoming a better alternative by default. The issue is, I don't want to resort to an alternative, and I think many others feel the same way. I'll probably benefit from the sublcassing update in terms of becoming even more capable at 1vxing, but at what cost.... the ecosystem as a whole may be at the brink of destruction, if there is no one else to fight what is the point in PVP. doesnt even matter if i could 1 shot other players with the double spec bow shalk combo if there is no one to fight with and against.

No worries, something dead can't die again :p

I am wondering, why your concerns are only about the double bows.
That subclassing will allow even more burst damage combos, even more unkillable tanks or even more powerful ballgroups doesn't concern you a tiny bit?

I've been living on the PTS for a month now testing builds and dueling. The most obnoxious subclass combo I've run across is Blastbones + Javelin, since if you try to block you get jav stunned and combo killed, but if you roll dodge the jav you're still getting smacked by the bb. However, since bb has historically sucked in open world, I'm not concerned.

The double bows are slightly easier to counter, but the frequency is exhausting. You need to assume that every single spectral bow carries the threat of an instant death combo. Casual to mid players are not going to be able to block/dodge those bows the way the hardcore fighters on the PTS do, and they'll be flying every few seconds.

The end result is there are gonna be a lot of invisible instant deaths out of nowhere, which never fails to kill the action in a game like this. It's not a shooter, it's not an esport. Even sweaty players who are mechanically capable of countering the bow spam would rather play the game than spend their entire session countering potential instakills every few seconds.

If your attitude towards this is "git gud" then that's why the game is dead. See you in Vengeance :)

Oh yeah....hang around big fights, LA/weave your into Merciless and just harvest kills. Anyone notices you, Ball of Lightning away, sprint into invis. Simple build, even works as a one bar oakensoul, winterborn/tarnished. There are a whole host of set combos that will work for that.
