No new scribing skills?

I am genuinely confused why there are no new scribing skills? That was supposed to be a huge new system the last update and absolutely nothing is being added to it?

Is there going to be any new skills at all going forward?

I as well as everyone else probably agree there should be new skills added, or heck add in the ability to change the class skills and morphs with the scribing system

    They are all hyped for subclasses now. I doubt scribing will have any attention from players side currently, as everyone is experimenting with other skill lines and combinations. Right now the scribing update feels pretty much useless.

    As much as I'd love to have more scribing skills, I feel ZOS is far too busy trying to "balance" subclassing this patch.

    In saying that, I would have liked to have seen just some simple updates such as a few more damage types (shock damage) added to more abilities, that way there's at least something for scribing that would be relatively easy to do and wouldn't require much dev time for balancing.

    We kinda have enough scribing skills already, although some new aoe skill with major debuffs would be nice

    Werewolf is still waiting for their own Grimoire to finally get to use Scribing. Give a Grimoire to Vampire as well, so they're not left out.

    Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

    Just a reminder, this is update 46, the content pass is designed to cover 47 and 48 too. The idea was to shift away from a strict release schedule that placed everything in 1 go, freeing up developement time to allow them to experiment outside of the standard afair we're used to from "Chapters" which contain x amount of sets, x zone, x trial, x new mechanic, etc.

    If I were a betting man, they're busy with Subclassing right now, but Grimoires will always be developed till the end of time, it's just a matter of when it's ready. They no longer need to wait for a big release to do so unless that is suppose to be the selling point like subclassing is, the expecation is to bring back players every update along the content pass. Adding 1 grimoire, even if it was ready to this update would hardly have an effect on returning players, but would be an excellent opportunity to bring back people for 47 or 48 once they've gotten used to the novelity of subclassing.

    That's my guess anyway, you can bet there is something in developement. I'm surprised it's not out this update, but the more you think about their new release structure from a marketing perspective, the more it makes sense to hold that back that content even if it was close to finished. I think we'll be more than busy for now with subclassing.

    ZoS tends to have ADHD with their promises, they release new system, then forget about the new system and then creates a new system before the old one was finished, polished, and balanced. It really is getting tedious. I’d like hybridization to be finished as well as additional focus on scribing instead of destroying the game with subclassing.

    I don't think there will be much extra stuff, at least not tied to the 'year pass'. Otherwise they would have included this in the marketing materials.

    You can clearly see that this year is just a chapter divided in two pieces for drip-feed purposes. There is nothing new for scribing, but also not a new deck for tribute either, even the housing stuff is minimal. I think the faster updates are something that we will see take shape from Q2 2026 and onwards.

    Because now everything is still exactly in the old format and just cut up artificially into pieces to give them a head start for real seasonal content next year. That is also why a lot of people are not very keen on the whole seasonal pass because it feels a bit forced this year.
