What is the main activity you do when playing ESO?

    Questing
Questing closely followed by housing. Without these two activities I doubt I would be playing ESO.

I am a bit concerned that if the future doesn't include new chapters and DLC zones, then new stories, houses and furniture might be in short supply. I guess we will see what April brings.

It's nice to see so many questers, by the way. Especially as I often read things like "Nobody does the quests anyway". While the writing quality is not perfect at times, it shows that there's at least a crowd who would be interested in the stories.

Agreed. I started a new character a few years ago and went slowly exploring every spot though each zone and performing every quest I could find. Was pretty interesting seeing all the tiny unnoticed spots. For example there's a stream somewhere were a wagon has overturned and pots and pans and stuff are littered all around. Nice touch.

I've done the absolute majority of quests (except for group content related ones that I can't solo, and those in PvP areas) and the funny thing is that I sometimes didn't even notice some details during the first playthrough. Like Barbas watching you through the whole Morrowind storyline.

Nowadays I'm on maintenance mode (log in, do endeavors, event stuff if applicable and crafting writs/"vendoring" if I have tedious work phone calls going on, otherwise I can't be bothered). Used to do literally everything, but I feel like the current state of things is not to my liking, so I stay in maintenance mode should things take a turn for the better in the future. One can hope.

This is how I feel. The game may not be in maintenance mode but I am, waiting for either new content or the old content problems being addressed so I can enjoy participating again. In the meantime, just boring writs and surveys.

    Exploring
I chose exploration because it's a bit random. First I'll do my endeavors. Sometimes, those lead me to doing tasks for the day e.g. there's a Tales endeavor and then I'm having so much fun, I'll play more Tales. Sometimes, I'll stumble onto a guild event or guild member who wants people to do things with them. And that's what I'll end up doing. When there's an event going that's worth grinding out for the coin, I'll do that as it's a big source of income for other activities for me since I don't like doing writs as much.

Sometimes I'll actually feel like questing for once and will do that too. Others I'll finally feel inspired to decorate a house and will use the furnishings I have to do so.

What I do that day really kind of depends on what I stumble onto, so that's kind of exploration?

Most forms of pvp but IC is the best format I think this game has to offer.

Also interesting to note that Cyro is ranking second in this poll. Obviously forum polls are not indicative of the entire player base but still interesting.

The problem came when I created an Arcanist and at level 3 it could basically be as op as my 2.000+CP main... Now THAT was a bit disappointing...

CP are accountwide - so your Level 3 Arcanist has the full 2000+ CP - just look into the tree

for me its Other - daily log in reward, endeavours and event tickets

When you create a new character CPs are not assigned.
If you look at what combat was like for a new player years ago and compare it to now you'll see a huge difference.
Now I can literally just beam (one button) and take down multiple enemies without risking my life at all - this was not the case back then.
It's ok if a maxed out Arcanist do that, but one just created... seems to me something could be adjusted.

To be clear: I am happy the floor has been raised, but the sense of progression is missing compared to before.
This is something players have spoken about since CP 2.0 because even between a CP 800 character and CP1.600 you barely see a difference (or even since OneTamriel really).
The gap is very minimal, which is a good thing to give an even playing field to players, but it takes away the experience of progression that TES players are used to, typical of single player games.

I don't have a perfect solution, just stating what I find a bit weird and kinda off-putting... Generally people want to feel they are improving, right?

EDIT: it's similar to the disappointment in finishing an overland quest and getting a named item reward that is weaker than anything else - what's the point in questing then? Only roleplay?

This is all i do right now. Not quite happy with the state of the game. Excited for overland questing to maybe have any kind of stakes in the future.

    Trials
It was hard to answer as I do most things, but repeatable trials, dungeons and archives I do mostly. I do new quests when a zone comes out on one character. If we get increased difficulty in the future I see myself running through them again on another. PVP I only really do to keep friends company rather than enjoy it.

Cyro - GH - XB EU

I basically spend almost every hour in there when I am not crafting or finding leads/overland content for PVP. I am fairly casual, and don't get a lot of time generally.

Where the campaign is active, I will jump in and follow where the action is. If it's dead, I will try my luck. If I get slapped (happens often), I will return to Housing project, sell some stuff, do a mat run or two, progress any content of value (Leads, Overland sets, etc).

I loved the idea of ESO when it launched, and got it day of release for XB EU. To me, there is nothing better than AvAvA battles (though, I know veteran PVP'ers regard 1vX as the pinnacle of PVP).

PVE, Dungeons and Trails are not my bag, even Solo Arena's bore me. The elitist players really kept me away from trying Trials in the early days, so much so I really can't be bothered now. My Guild did host a Casual team, with a completely beginner friendly attitude, 0 expectations - just have fun, and certainly encouraged more people to try (including me). Some even expressed interest in joining the Prog team.

    Housing
I voted housing since I can't choose more than one, but my main activities are questing, housing and dungeons, out of the options shown here. It kind of fluctuates which of these I do the most at a given time.

If I had to choose just one it would be dungeons.

But I also like Battlegrounds, Cyrodiil, Imperial city, and just farm stuff to make coin for my Guild.
