You see this term being thrown around all the time, so I would like to hear what people think when someone uses the term 'endgame player', or 'This build is good until the endgame' etc.?
As of right now, I feel like the term has very little if any meaning, since people have completely different views on what it means, so here I would just like to map out and hear what people think the term means.

The options are ordered in terms of difficulty (debatable). Vote for the one which you think marks the entry to endgame, meaning if you choose Normal dungeons your choice includes everything up to trial trifectas by default.

An endgame player is someone who does...

In ease of play, I'd have to say (roughly in order)
    • Base Game Zones
    • Base Game Dungeons
    • Clockwork City
    • Asylum Sanctorum
    • Vvardenfell
    • Northern Elsweyr
    • Western Skyrim
    • Blackwood
    • Base Game Veteran Dungeons
    • Base Game Veteran Hardmode Dungeons
    • Base Game Trials
    • Infinite Archive
    • DLC Dungeons

    • As a shorer list

The answer is not in the poll.

True end-game content requires a character to be level 50, including vet dungeons and trials. That is end game by definition.

Arguably. Forum’s had a discussion on it before on if this definition of endgame starts at level 50, level 160, level (whenever the last cp level content unlocks), or level 3600. I’m pretty sure vet dlc dungeons don’t actually let you in at level 50, theres a CP requirement on top of that.

Good point, but I kept it simple since the CP requirement for various vet content differs. I felt it unnecessary to provide a complex answer to get my point across, as none of the poll answers provided an accurate answer.

Entry into end game IMO is veteran dungeons, particularly the 2 dungeons, meaning the second version of the base game dungeons. The 1 dungeons on vet give you a slight taste but 2 is where you need to have a good basic idea of how to play your character. These are where in some cases DPS starts to matter for completing the dungeons as well as the tank and healer having a better idea how those roles work besides what weapons and skills to use.

I personally think ESO has somewhat of an identity crisis. It tries to be too many things to too many audiences at once and thus fails to satisfy anyone.

none of these, end game is fashion, housing and maybe foreplay to an extent and adventures and romance that you make with your friends

Also, waiting for new sets; their effects are also part of my fashion.

My Templar is a healer...but Tarnished Nightmare set and Gold Road DLC overall made his stained-glass vibe and look skyrocket through the roof.

I worked my build around him being a crit healer.
Hollowfang won't do. Blood balls don't fit the aesthetic, and Combat Prayer has blue shield that messes up the whites, golds, and blacks of his outfit.

So I'm farming Wrathsun to see if it fits and works. If it doesn't I'll go back to Blind Induction for heal and shield strenght, and wait for another set.

I think the variety of things the game has to offer has been a good thing for players, I enjoy several different things myself. However, I wonder if all the new systems that have been introduced in the last few years are causing some of the performance issues we have seen lately.

If we're talking purely gameplay, "endgame" to me will always mean PvP and specifically Cyrodiil.

If we're talking what keeps me in ESO? RP, Housing, Outfits are "endgame," too.

Any PvE like Vet Dungeons, Arenas, or whatever else I do beyond simply wanting to see story/quests is done for either PvP Builds or to chase down a dye or piece of furniture. None of it really interests me in terms of gameplay, it's simply a means to an end.

Once you start progging DLC HMs I think you’re in the endgame, but you become a true endgamer once you can just casually do a HM.

But I also consider dungeon and trial endgames to be entirely different paths and entirely different endgames that have a decent, but not total, crossover in community. Being able to do Coral Aerie trifecta 20x doesn’t mean you’re a trial endgamer.

This. The DLC dungeons HMs are a starting point. First place where how you play starts to really matter, both individually and in a group.

I had my time as a PvE player, did trifectas and all that. Naturally transitioned into PvP because of it´s random nature and dynamics and for me personally more interactive gameplay. That along with the occasional housing craze ^^.

Traditionally, it's vet trials and sweaty PvP, but ESO is different in that endgame exists in other communities because endgame in ESO is basically being sweaty in whatever you're doing.

An example would be endgame trading where endgame traders make millions every week and know all the ins and outs of playing the market. These are the ones that use spreadsheets or some kind of sales tracking.
