All of this push for players to level alts makes me think ZOS is seeing the negative results of AWA and trying to find a way to get players back to playing more than one character. For me and I suspect other players none of their weak attempts will accomplish what they are hoping for.

I don't see how AWA has reduced the incentive to level additional characters.
If anything, it has increased incentive, since you don't have to complete all achivements on each character so you have more freedom in what character(s) you play without losing out on getting achievments for your "Main" character.Alinhbo_Tyaka wrote: »All of this push for players to level alts makes me think ZOS is seeing the negative results of AWA and trying to find a way to get players back to playing more than one character.
They always have simply wanted people to play more characters. Which has nothing to do with AWA (Other than being the likely reason they implemented it in the first place), but simply with Outfit/Armory slot sales (And potential Skill Line/Skillshard sales).
The recent push for alt characters simply coincides with the new skill style system. Where again, they would like people to be playing multiple classes so that they will want to purchase more skill styles. (Since, for example, people who don't play a Sorc won't be buying that new red flappy bird skill style for 2k crowns will they?)

Before AWA, you were incentivised to play your alts so you could get the achievements on those characters. Now, playing your alts doesn't get you anything (because you already have all of the achievements from your main). AWA has definitely resulted in some of my alts getting less attention than they would have received otherwise.
More an second alt is nice for storing stuff if nothing else.Could always create a toon, power level it to 50, claim the free styles, then delete the character. Can do that in a day.
[snip] The variety of classes is a significant part of the game. They provide everything in the month to make it easy to level another character. And still they get people complaining about having to do SOMETHING to get a free reward.
And then on the other hand, they have people complaining that they already have 20 fully levelled characters so cannot use the option of gaining levels to obtain the free mount - when they still have 25 other activities to choose from (and only 20 are required).
And we wonder why ZoS sometimes ignore feedback. SMH
