Isn't it a bit much to ask 2k crowns for red style Summon Winged Twilight?

lol it looks like the matriarch skill style was the one with the most effort put into it since they got rid of the “skin” and made it transparent xD

This is not a microtransaction, this is a macrotransaction.

Absolutely insane price for a single skill of a single class, which is also just a colour change.

If it was a set of several sorcerer skills and giving the pets whole new different daedra appearance, then maybe, maaybe it could be somewhat acceptable. This is not.

As an aside, the free skill style bundle seems to have a lot of red sorc skills, fyi. I think that's intentional. People who get the bundle might be enticed to also get the red twilight, so they match. The price is indeed too steep for a colour re-skin though, and it reminds me in a way of the outfit slot debacle, which also seemed steep for what it was.

For that price, it better increase my DPS.

On the other hand, that would be pay to win, and I'm glad ESO doesn't do that.

Yup, ESO definitely doesn't do that!

Must have forgotten the several mythics, Psijic Order, Armory Loadouts, overpowered DLC seller set items, and Scribing that are all behind pay walls. lol

Believe it or not, masking skills to blend in is a form of advantage in PvP and is once again, blatant P2W, ask anyone who’s been slapped up by a red Ice Comet that looks like a meager Valkyn Skoria proc.

I’m sure they won’t come out with a red Hurricane that perfectly hides this Twilight skin. /s

I think it’s absolutely insane price point. We can get an entire weapons cosmetics pack for 2500… I was expecting 1k crowns for this… 2k crowns should be the entire skill line in red or something lol

Even 1,000 crowns is extremely generous.

This is one skill among 18 class ones, among 7 classes. 1/126 class skills in the game, and only one iteration among the many they will make for that one specific skill.

DLC items being locked behind DLC isn't really pay to win. Otherwise having to own High Isle to play Tales of Tribute would be pay to win for Tales of Tribute. They're allowed to include content in expansions, especially since these content releases are relatively infrequent, and the dates known far in advance.

Gear power should be lateral, not vertical.

Buying a DLC for power, when you have no other purpose for that DLC, is paying to win a patch, or however many it takes them to nerf it.

Just like buying this Red Twilight will be an advantage whenever Red Hurricane comes out.

If people pay up (and they do) seems okay. Not good for public image though, but that's not something that would be of concern to them as far as we can see how store is going in general in a buy to play premium sub game.

In no world should anybody be okay with this. It's genuine price gouging. If it were 2,000 for a pack, then that might be different, but we're getting one puny reskin of a single skill, in a single class. I'm usually in the team of "If you don't like it, don't pay for it", but this time it's insultingly overpriced. The standard that's being set here is very much "We're going to see just how much we can get out of you before you start complaining, and then go a little bit further," and regardless of whether or not it's just a FOMO cosmetic, they're doing this because they know people are going to rattle off the same old "if you don't like it, don't buy it" rhetoric they have been for years.

Plaese do not be "okay" with this. This is a genuine attempt to see how much pay piggies will cough up for the least amount of effort possible, and you should not be okay with it.

I'm not okay with anything crown store related, at all. But looking at amount of red abominations in-game today people are okay with it. I just wish people would actually start putting their money where the mouth is and not falling for it no matter how much they want another shiny, instead of buying a crown pack for it you could literally buy poe2 early access key and have infinite more fun for the buck, also giving money to the Devs that genuinely care and produce top quality stuff

Well, besides Chapters/DLCs/Classes/Companions, nothing offered in the Crown Store gives you any improvement to your combat ability. The items I listed just offer a different way to play; they don't give you a steep advantage over someone who lacks those things.

If Summon Winged Twilight, Warrior increased the damage that ability did, that would arguably be considered pay to win. In that case, you'd be more effective with that ability than you would be if you didn't have that Skill Style — you really couldn't defend that. The Crown Store isn't there to make your abilities work better than other peoples' abilities.

My wild guess for the reasoning behind the pricing is that Summon Twilight is a pet skill - as in, your pet is following you around and you can flaunt your red glowy bird lady for everyone to see. We're yet to see the prices for the non-pet skills, but this is disappointing regardless. I don't like the idea of having to cough up 2k crowns if I ever want a different colored bear for my warden... Or if they ever add a smaller twilight... Eugh.

It's interesting that you bring up Feral Guardian. The Morrowind Collector's Pack (which includes Slate-Gray Summoned Bear, which is now a Skill Style) used to cost 3500 Crowns, but now costs 2100 Crowns.

By comparison, Summon Winged Twilight, Warrior comes by itself and costs 2000 Crowns — if we suppose 2000 Crowns is the value of a single Skill Style, then Slate-Gray Summoned Bear must make up around 2000 Crowns worth of the Morrowind Collector's Pack.

Omg, 2k??? If it had transformed the matriarch into a blue-flame atronach, maybe, but (and I realize this is a personal opinion only) such an awful looking transformation should have been much cheaper or free.

I completely agree - I had a feeling that ZoS would go in this direction - selling skills styles for crowns - but this is absolutely insane.

They're already massively overcharging for most items (homes, mostly) but this is the most blatant slap in the face that I have ever seen.

It's almost predatory - seeing how much money they can market something that people will still buy.

I'm so insanely disappointed in this direction that ZoS is going in. It sets the mood for the game going forward.

They charge 5000 crowns for some mounts - the price basically of some WHOLE video games - and you have to basically take a mortgage out to get a manor house in the game, so are we surprised?

Yeah, I would maybe pay 500 crowns for a simple recolor like this, but 2000 is kinda ridiculous.
I also don't like how this skill style (and the upcoming ice-themed ones) are shown as locked in the skill styles menu. As if they were meant to be in-game unlocks but then they changed their mind the last second.

I was really happy to find out the other class skill styles would be a free pack, since my sorc's original outfit was red and I've wanted to restore her original colours for a while.

Now I see the pet would cost 2k just by itself and this completely sours it. Overall a great way for ZoS to get my good will back after so many let downs, then immediately lose it again.

Slate-Gray Summoned Bear is a Skill Style that is acquired from the Crown Store, yet it isn't shown in the Collections Menu until after you have acquired it. I wish there was more consistency with this system — like why isn't Slate-Gray Summoned Bear (or the Morrowind Collector's Pack that it's located in) located in the Skill Styles section of the Crown Store?

I actually just came to say something about how garish this thing is. Regular Twilights are bad enough, but now we have to deal with bright glowing red ones? [snip] If the fact that it's so expensive is keeping people from buying it, then all the better.

We really need a way to hide these things in populated areas, ZOS. It's been out of hand for way too long.

I was expecting the price to be like 2.5k Crowns for an entire Class styling setup(all 3 skill lines), similar in pricing to something like an Arms Pack.

2k Crowns for a single skill recolor? It's not like they changed the Twilight model into another creature, or added new animations/sounds/etc, it is just a recolor.

Btw, the grey "skill style" of the warden bear used to be a special toggle if you owned the upgrade (I've had it since 2017). They only recently changed it, which made everyone hope for stuff like wolves, senches etc as skill styles. But we're more than likely to just get stuff like "black bear" for 2k crowns... I'm happy with my brown bear (I don't like the grey one), especially if the prices look like this. I wonder if they're gonna add a glowing orange bear instead of natural looking skins.

I was hoping for a visual update for the sorc summons, and I feel that's less likely now. 2K is a bit steep, but also fair if someone likes it considering that's less than an arms pack, and only marketable to players who play sorc. I might wait until it's on sale.
