I am disappointed that I can not buy Armory or character slots and more with my endeavors. I am of the opinion that all things in the crown store should be able to be bought with endeavors including houses!
It is an earned in game currency for the intent of buying things in the crown store.
All crown store items should be made available for us the PLAYERS to purchase with our endeavors!

What say you all?

My guess is that if they wanted to do that, they would come up with a different currency, earned in a different manner.

Edit: Seals of Endeavors are for Crown Crate items.

Seals of Endeavor were created to enable people to obtain Crown Crate items without having to purchase a set of Crown Crates and gamble on what they would get in them. They were intended only to deal with the 'gambling' and game of chance aspect to purchasing Crown Crates when trying to obtain a specific item.

Hence, the only items they can purchase are Crown Crate items. They were never intended as currency for purchasing all things in the Crown Store.

Don't forget, this is a business. They need to still encourage Crown purchases for other items. For me, I have no problem with that. It would be nice to have a way to get everything for 'free' by earning in game cash but I also get that they need the cash purchases as well.

    Good news!

    There actually is.

Many players will trade Crowns for Gold (In the form of gifting a Crown Store purchase and trading Gold)

Thus allowing a player to farm up gold in game to exchange for Crown Store items.

No, there should always be things that we have to spend real money on. If no one paid ZOS any money (because they could just earn everything in the Crown Store for free anyway) then this game would be forced to sunset imminently.

Just be glad the things we can't earn don't impact gameplay in any steep way. Trust me, there are games which have far worse monetization practices — such as one PvP shooter game which sells you consumable power-ups in the cash shop, meaning you are at a severe disadvantage if you don't spend real money each round. ESO's monetization practices are totally reasonable by comparison, and necessary to keep the live services paid for.

seals of endeavor can purchase anything that is in the store for crown gems, not just items in the crates

there are some items which are added to the store that cost crown gems, but are not actually in crates (such as the thematic spriggan polymorph for example, not in crates but costs gems and can be bought with endeavors)

personally i think that any item in the crown store should have both a crown gem and a regular crown cost, so you could choose which currency to spend

adding a crown gem cost would also allow you to buy anything with seals of endeavor at the same time

Why would I buy crowns... to sell for gold.. to buy crown store items.
Or, why would I sell my crowns for gold only to exchange it for Crown Store items.... doesn't make sense to me.
Besides, you can only use gold for giftable crown store items and not everything is.

You know there are ways to earn/spend gold without exchanging for crowns?

    Shocking I know.

But you can earn gold in game (Without selling crowns) and then trade to other players for crown store items.

Those players selling the crowns, will use that gold to buy items from traders (Notably things like furnishings and motifs can cost a fair chunk of gold to acquire)

Seals of Endeavor serve to circumvent European laws on gambling, because Crown Crates fall under the definition of gambling by the EU.

Do not expect them to do anything more than giving an alternate access to Crown Crate Items.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

Player A has 5k Crowns. They gift an item to player B, who trades 5 million gold in exchange. That's how it works.

The only way to get crown gems is from opening crown crates. That means those items are still tied to the crates, just indirectly. Endeavours were introduced to make ESO compliant with Microsoft's policy that anything obtained by buying loot boxes will be available by playing the game, and that includes all the items, not just ones which directly drop from loot boxes.

You wouldn't. Different people buy the crowns from the ones selling them.

There's 4 types of players in this situation:
    1) Buys crowns and/or subscribes to ESO+ and uses those crowns to buy crown store items.
    2) Buys crowns and/or subscribes to ESO+ and uses those crowns to gift items to other players in return for gold, so they can get more gold more quickly than they could by playing.
    3) Earns gold in-game and trades it to players who gift them crown store items, so they don't need to buy crowns themselves.
    4) Never gets anything from the crown store by any method.

You're currently Player 1 - you get crowns and spend them yourself. You could if you wanted to also be Player 3 - trading your gold to Player 2 in return for additional crown store items.
