It's a bit ominous, seeing the hole in the water where the statue once stood.

Don't worry, it's just been returned to Amazon 'cause it broke under warranty - wait for the replacement to arrive in 3 days.

I thought it was just me. I have not been to High Isle in ages but went there for ToT today and could not see it. Having altered some graphics settings last month I have just spent the best part of 30 minutes fiddling with them to try to figure out what setting it is that was making it invisible. Then I gave up, set everything to max and it was still not there, even though I could clearly see the ship sailing around it.

I noticed some other oddities around High Isle too, such as fences that were invisible.

I don't know how they managed to turn various objects invisible... But they did.

Perhaps an intern stumbled upon Wabbajack by mistake?

If your render distance is rather low (probably below 30), then the scaffolding would still be visible (which also occurred before U44).

I set my view distance to maximum (100) and it's still missing. :#

I thought maybe it had something to do with the witch's festival event decorations, but even after the event ended it's still missing :#

Had a couple friends check and it's invisible for them too.

I didn't notice it was missing, which begs the question:

If a giant statue fell into the Abecean Sea and vanished, but I wasn't looking at it anyway, did it make a splash?

Have you finished the high isle storyline? There's a reason for that

It doesn't go missing after the storyline, the upper half gets destroyed but it's still normally there. Regardless I've swapped to characters who have and haven't completed the storyline and it's always missing/invisible now since the last update.

No, I haven't finished High Isle yet-- but I heard the spoiler a long time ago.

What's stranger is it's missing from the map as well (are the maps dynamically generated based on visible geometry like Oblivion was?)

I don't think so. How does it look like currently?

This is the map as saved on UESP, uploaded in 2022:

I'm currently going through the main quest, and when the heroes told me about this statue, I tried in vain to see it. To be honest, at that moment I came to the conclusion that my video card was too weak to show something grandiose. :D

There is an actual "hole" where its supposed to be. If you look at from the Gaming Hall porch (on Ultra settings) you can see where the waves go on either side of the "hole" and ships go around it. The statue itself simply isn't there.

Looks just like that map now too.

I have this issue as well. Going through the High Isle quest chain for the first time, talking to Lady Arabella as she's taking in the view of the Gonfalon Colossus from outside her home, talking about that view being the reason for buying the house, and what the statue means to her... but the Colossus isn't visible at all... Rather deflates the emotional moment, and any feeling of drama surrounding the later state of the statue.

I did the quest a long time ago and took screenshots before and after the destruction from just outside Lady Arabella's home.

Went back today and the statue's gone.

Found this construction site but it's on the wrong island.

Agreed. I looked for it today - and of course it's not there. This was on my newest account, which hasn't done the quest line. *sigh* Give it back please!

Same thing today - that was very confusing, so I was glad to find this thread. (XB-NA)
