Update 44, new u35 ?

U35 was terrible with massive nerfs and changes. For update 44 devs persist to ignore players comments and take perverse pleasure in nerfing everything.

For update 44 we have a nerf for :

- Maelstrom 2H
- Azureblight
- Pyrebrand
- Stormfist (yes a nerf not a "fix")
- Templar
- Necro
- Nightblade
- BAD PVP choices
- Other hidden changes ?

And more generally :

- Bad server performance
- Bugs
- hybridization unfinished
- 40$ for poor DLC
- New mythics and sets introduced in new update to nerf them some time later
- Addons (a good game doesn't need addons for UI, mechanics ect...)

This game is no longer fun to play and sorry but combat team becomes boring and bad.

I have +6000H in ESO but I will not renew ESO+. Throne and Liberty becomes a new evident choice.

Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

From PvP point of view, I believe devs make the biggest changes according to data of what is being used most. So for example if 60% of Cyrodiil is using Sorcerer, they will most likely nerf Sorcerer next patch. And if something is used that much in PvP, it can only mean that it overperforms in comparison to its alternatives.

That’s been the plan for sometime. DPS levels for much of the high level content is considered way too high for the level of difficulty that is supposed to exist. Trials should typically be as difficult as Vet Vateshran for all players involved. Monstrous DPS makes it easier than it should be. Most trials are typically balanced with around 50-60k DPS per damage toon tops. Yet, players are getting double those numbers and some almost triple.

The slow nerfing of damage each patch is not devs ignoring players… it’s following their objective.

Now, personally I don’t think this is the correct tactic to take. I would much rather they add an Expert difficulty for the end game content and try and control any further power creep.

Then I would deviate build diversity instead of streamlining it. Maybe add some extra CP nodes that come with great rewards but severe penalties. Example:

Increase your damage with non-applied damage over time effects and status effects by 60%, but reduce all other direct damage by 80%.

Just an example, but stuff like this is what really spreads out the play styles and makes the game more interesting both in PVE and PVP. Numbers in the above example may seem extreme, but they kind of need to be to really impact things.

    Me too.

I'm not much of a PvP person in ESO, but new BG's look fun to me and I'll be enjoying playing those later

I do not agree here. U35 was a huge blow to the numbers of active playerbase who engaged in harder content the game had to offer, this one is more like... Nothing? There's surely stuff to be upset about as always but it's biggest blow might be just another of the patches that gives close to nothing so feeding into apathy that formed already.

If anything - regarding nerfs that is - is just following the path that U35 laid out.

Anything - in PvE combat - that might be an outlier in terms of being fun to use in any shape or form has to be hammered down into compliance with the grey sludge directive.

For the health of the game ofc.

We players exist to serve the game after all.

I agree. This just feels like a normal nerf cycle with some new game feature to play with. The apathy in here seems to be based in performance, and to a lesser extent, bugs. Replacing battlegrounds and adding the Golden Grind is not going to fix either of those. They might distract for a while, though.

Not even close. The nerfs to Tarnished, Hardened Ward, and NB Cloak have been demanded for months/years and are a welcome change to the PvP meta that will remove a huge load of unfun garbage.

I look forward to HDR and the vibrancy setting. Maybe I can drop ReShade now.

And the solo only queue and reworked battleground stuff looks interesting too.

As a pure PvE player non of the patches have been bad yet because buffs or balance changes aren't that much of an issue.

No, you can't kill what is already dead. The exodus of players who left after patch 35 isn't going to be repeated: those who remained will grumble but will end up eating whatever garbage is put in front of them.

Since nothing is being done about the ball groups and with most of these changes not being PvP friendly, combined with all the rudeness and lack of people really wanting to work together in PvP, I'm pulling out of Cyrodiil completely.

I'll give BGs a try and maybe play IC once in a while but other than that I'm done. I doubt BGs will hold my interest for long but I can understand them wanting to fix that situation, Teams were getting kind of rough. Cyrodiil needs some serious help with these ball groups just consuming the place like locusts. Until that gets fixed I don't want any part of it.
Today Victory is mine. Long Live the Empire.

You really can’t know if this is true. A few of your other observations may be valid, but I doubt anyone at ZOS is actually happy that any of their customers are unhappy with any of the decisions they make.

For me U44 basically reads "saw people playing as Templar, took steps to try and resolve this problem"

    So that's my sub canceled.
Hope for the love of all that is holy that the 2025 roadmap has More than 2 bits of content in it.

This combined with your username made me chuckle, but you're probably right.

U35 was a travesty of decision-making combined with a ZOS pledge to stop making large sweeping changes as often, thus locking in the bad decisions for much longer than older cycles. It that didn't kill someone's enthusiasm for the game, it's doubtful much else will other than a better MMO option appearing on the market.

This one's just kinda standard nerfs to some outliers, a few hits and a few misses, and the eternal cycle of keeping a couple classes up and a couple others down for whatever reason that will eventually flip in inexplainable timing.

Given the record so far, there'll be a new zone with the chapter in 2025 and... that's all. The rest will require an ESO+ sub.

The fact they literally called out Jabs as a primary reason for the Maelstrom 2h definitely felt a bit on the nose for this, you're not wrong.
