What can you obtain in this game to flex to other players with?

I finally got my game fully downloaded and I'm now questing in the starting area. Fun stuff. I do have another question though...

So... On matters of "flexing" to other players and showing them cool stuff... What do we have available? Can you give me a list please?

Companions? Pets? Mounts? Houses? A certain slottable skill morphed and mastered? A legendary weapon?

What are all of them? I just wanna be a collector in this game. It gives me a goal.

Nowadays, nothing, as almost everything has been nerfed to the ground and all things are easily obtained with some time invested.

Maybe the mounts or titles from the three or four last trials trifectas, and BlackRose Prison trifecta title, but imho nothing else.

Endeavors killed how unique Radiant Apex were, empty campaings and the tremendous amount of double AP given all the time killed Emperor and Grand Overlord titles, so those ones neither.

There is nothing rare in this game anymore.

    Bummer.

But even if they are easy to obtain, what are a list of them? Types of them, I mean. Mounts? Pets? Hats?

If they are easy to obtain, I'll just flex by having all of them.

I'm not gonna lie, it's actually slightly reassuring for me. It feels like I don't need to do anything epic to look cool. I downloaded this game to de-stress, so I'm honestly fine with that.

    Seriously though, what are they?

I don't think there's anything like that in ESO. Years ago some skins and personalities were a show off thingie because how hard some of them were to get back then and lack of alternatives but with amount of stuff people have now from the game, crates and other sources devalued everything heavily so most newer player won't have an idea what's the difference. Most old time players won't either nowadays I'd guess. Titles might catch some attention but still only from people with the same ones mostly. It's not the game to "show off" now really, quite some time since it had something like that.

This page is a good starting point: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Collections

A lot of collectibles come from the crown store, or from crown crates (but those can be earned by doing endeavours) but there's a lot you can get in-game too.

It's impossible to pick things which are guarenteed to impress everyone because that's subjective. One person's super-cool mount is someone else's ugly mess. Yes there's stuff that's harder to come by, but that's still not guarenteed to impress anyone, chances are people who don't have it won't know or care where it comes from and will assume you got it from the crown store.

My advice is to focus on what you want. Do things because they interest you and aim for rewards you like instead of trying to go for what you think other people would want.

I think there are over 400 mounts in the game? Some are crown store exclusive and those are not always available for purchase. There are mounts in game that can be purchased with in game currency and some you earn by completing certain content. The mounts from the Sunspire and Rockgrove trials might be the most rare in the game.

Pets are much the same 100s of them but some can only be bought with real life currency in the crown store. The crown store items to me don't provide much flex. I don't know which of the pets earned playing the game would be the hardest to get. The earnable ones come from various activities in the game and should just happen as you play.

The helmets I don't know. Only one of my characters wears a helm that shows and it is a fairly common one because I think it looks good on my Orc. Can't speak for other players but when I see a helm on a character I have no idea if it was hard to get so somewhat rare or just one you can get anywhere. I just know if it looks cool or not to me.

Since I never look at characters in game, I have no idea what "cool" would be - and of course, for others, it's all subjective anyway.

They’ve prioritized monetization more and more over time so there’s been less and less actual reward for doing stuff. A lot of the cool trifecta trial mounts and stuff you can earn have cooler or similar crown store variantz

Titles used to be such thing. Even "Explorer" meant something at some point. But, aside from nerfs, game just... changed.

Stuff is easier to get & builds are much more powerful. I clearly remember when I got my max AW rank, ages ago, people were congratulating me getting 5 stars... Yeah, there was no double AP stuff, so max AW rank was not so easy to get. Same with "Explorer" title I have mentioned. With AW faction change tokens it is much easier to get.

I am not sure if there is still something left that "means" something. I guess maybe solo arena (like Maelstrom Arena) titles can mean something. Harder group content, I am not sure, as there were tons of cases of players "buying" runs.

i know i have a bunch of stuff thats no longer currently obtainable in game (the striped senche mount which was only obtainable if you subbed during the first year of the game (april 2014-2015) and i think some of the other "loyalty rewards")

i also have at least 1 weapon drop i dont use but is also no longer obtainable in the game

really any items which are no longer obtainable would be the most "flex" things

Basically, nothing in this game is truly hard to obtain. Most things—whether they're mounts, pets, companions, or even certain titles and achievements—just require time and a group to run with.

The challenge mostly boils down to getting organized rather than actual difficulty. Flexing here is more about patience than skill.

It's either anything that isn't obtainable in game anymore (like the beta monkey or some mounts) or the titles and mounts from Rockgrove, Dreadsail Reef, Sanity's Edge and Lucent Citadel trifectas.

In game rewards are honestly very lacking but it's getting even worse because pretty much anything that gets released as a reward for doing stuff in the game has a re-skinned or slightly altered version of itself released in the crown store. It happened with the Sunspire mount, Kyne's Aegis skin, heck, even the event mount that came out with West Weald event is just the Rockgrove mount except blue instead of red.

you could collect millions of a specific crafting material, it would be funny and you'd seem cool to me.

collecting rare items or collectibles usually just means you were able to buy/acquire something at the right time like the Dragon's Treasure Trove and the old ESO Plus loyalty rewards. not really cool to me

i imagine it might seem cool to some people if you got the Dragonguard Beserker or Gravegrasp styles from Imperial City,
as you can't purchase them unless you're above rank 20 in Cyrodiil/imperial city.
But it just requires spending lots of time getting millions of alliance points to rank up and then telvar stones to purchase them.

I was actually planning on owning literally a third of a stack of an alchemical ingredient for virtually all obtainable alchemy ingredients in the entire game and then compose an advertisement calling myself "the Alchemy Trader". And basically provide anything that they need for a certain amount for any player.

It just scares me to think how big of an undertaking that is considering I wasn't able to do that even in vanilla Skyrim.

But no doubt I'd have something more precious than gold. lol

    Trifecta achievement stuff

    Rare style pages from dungeons

Well decorated houses (anyone can get a house but decorating is a chance to flex your ability to get stuff and your creativity). There are furnishings that are hard to get or rare.

The Grand Overlord title and achievement furniture from PvP.

Most people don't have any of these things. The ones claiming it's too easy are mad that they are easier to obtain than they used to be. But it's still hard enough the vast majority don't have them. And you'll still get the occasional compliment about it.

ppl that say its too easy or doesn't mean anything are just upset that it's slightly easier to obtain a certain stuff than before- it's still big time investing for many achieves and still meaningful to many players who got it

the question is not what it means to someone else, but what it means to YOU, don't let other ppl devalue your experience and achievement just because they don't want you to take pride in something you did or bring you down

these are people that want to bring you down before you even set out to start, dont let them convince you that it doesnt mean anything. appreciate your own experience and what it means to YOU

I do have some old set items that don't exist anymore stashed in one of my boxes.

Personalities change how your character moves and idles, so it's sort of like emotes but not quite.

There are a bunch of cosmetics you can obtain in game from public dungeons and achievements. But sometimes, a tastefully put together character will get more attention than anything you can get from difficult content.

The special outfit or weapon styles from the 10-year anniversary event. A lot of players (like me) didn't get them all. But you won't be able to get them now, either, because they weren' tradeable, so...

I would just get whatever mounts, pets, polymorphs, etc., you think are cool, regardless of whether they're rare or common.

    Red Rook Bandit Style.

    It costs 475,000 Tel Var.

Anybody could get it in theory but, in practice I haven't actually seen anyone use the full style.
