I've been in this house for over 23 years and never had a stray cat pop by. This one was outside my front door about a month ago meowing and I opened it and she just walked right in and proceeded to eat a can of cat food in like 20 seconds and then another and after a bit just laid down on the couch and she's never left even though I showed her the door in case she was someone elses. Very weird but just odd the way it occurred.
A few years ago we said no more pets....... too many horrible trips to the vets..... you get into your sixties and want to avoid the sadness!
Shortly after that decision we were an unwitting participant in the "Cat Distribution System" and had this guy move in......
Yep that's my keyboard underneath him!!
I have had cats and dogs all my life but this guy was "special" he trained us totally and completely!! Unfortunately our journey with him was short and I still miss him every day but I wish you love and a long life with your new friend..... make every moment special!!
Funnily enough we now have a wild friend who lives in our shed....... he/she finds the house and sometimes people too scary, who knows maybe one day they will overcome their fear.
Once an animal lover, always an animal lover!

We received a cat via the Cat Distribution System a long time ago that was starving for both food and attention. She’s been the best cat we ever had. I think we have had her for 9 years. She recently became sick and we found out she may have IBD. She seems to be doing better on a special diet and medication, we have our fingers crossed. I’ve had quite a few cats in my life, but she’s really stolen my heart.
Congrats @Veinblood1965 on your new furbaby! I hope you have many happy memories together!

Go to the New Discussion dropdown, choose New Poll. Be sure it's set up the way you want before saving, because you cannot edit it later.

Thank you TaSheen,
So I will need a new post correct? Cannot alter this one to include a poll?

So: Thank you for allowing us in on your adventure with your new "companion". Thank you for giving Ember a loving home. And thank you for bringing some fun and positive engagement to a forum that is far too bogged down by downsides most of the time.
And all the best for you and beautiful Ember! (That black/white nose and dark/light upper lips are amazing!)

Congrats on your new fur kid! Love that the name Ember was picked!
Agree, also the white patch down over the nose is Ember. You can not make an Ember lookalike as I know as that white nose is not an option. She looks a lot like Ember, down to the yellowish eyes.
And congratulations on your adoption!

Had one stray, she came to my back door beaten up, Iet her in, some water and food as in leftovers and stuff.
She slept on my stomach that evening. Next day I bought some cat food and an cat toilet who she know how do use.
Had her for 7 years moved apartment and she ran away never to be seen again
