ESO needs a QoL overhaul - suggestions

1. Nodes on the client side: Not everyone needs to farm the same node. Whats even the purpose of keeping nodes server side at this stage of the game? There's no need for competition in an activity as boring as node farming.
2. Housing needs to have furnishing spaces at least doubled; I'm tired of consoles holding us back. Lots of other mmos (I wont name) have dropped console support or limited it in order to give PC support. If its that bad on console, then give it to PC.
3. Furnishing table. Thats it, where is it? We have gotten an armory and scribing table, but where is the furnishing table? Why do I have to play guessing games on where that one furnishing recipe that I want is. It makes crafting for furniture a headache.
4. Mounts, yes mounts. I'm tired of reskins. Why can't mounts receive a more interactive upgrade? And before the army of people come in here and say, 'It can't be done,' there are other MMOs I won't name that did a complete mount overhaul on their game, even adding flying!
5. Duty finder, just create two. One for easy base dungeons, and one for dlc. Not everyone is equipped nor has the knowledge to tackle all dlc dungeons.
6. Furnishing locker - just how we have a craft bag. I have 100s of furnishings I'm storing, give me a locker with my ESO+ to store them in.
7. Big ask - Character overhaul, make ESO characters even prettier. I don't see this one happening ever, but have to ask.

And last, but not least. Stop monetizing everything into the crown store, we have enough items to buy from and spend on. We need content, QoL, more value to our ESO+ and modernizing the game to attract new players.

This would be a total killer for me. The two games which did this to my girls.... I quit them, then and there. They were no longer "my girls" that I spent a long time creating and playing. They ruined them, and I quit and haven't ever been back to either game.

    Don't touch my characters.

I’m with you on all of this! Nodes being client-side would make farming less of a tedious competition, and housing definitely needs more furnishing slots—console limitations shouldn’t hold back PC players. A furnishing table is long overdue; it’s crazy how we’re still playing guessing games with recipes. Mount upgrades? Absolutely, reskins are getting stale. The split duty finder would be a game-changer for newer players, and a furnishing locker is a no-brainer, especially for ESO+ members. As for character overhauls, it’s about time the models got some love! And yes, enough with monetizing everything—give us more content and QoL improvements!

Yeah I agree with this, like why are consoles holding us back exactly? We don't have cross platform, why can't the console version of the game stay as it is while giving the PC version that extra furnishing space? Would it be unfair for console? Well yes and no right? They made a decision to play on console.

Completely different games but I remember playing Battlefield 3 on the Xbox 360 and games were 24 player, 12 on each team while on PC it was 64 players 32 on each team, console limitations are a thing and I don't understand why it's so hard to accept that.

Other issues with this is that as far as I know, older generation consoles share the same server with current generation consoles, so it is a possibility that a PS5 can handle that increased furnishing space but because they share with PS4 it wouldn't be possible to do it for the PS5 players and that would honestly and excuse the word, it would honestly suck for them. All in all it's a difficult situation on console as many people still use their PS4 but this isn't the case for PC so it's not an excuse imo.

The things that are holding us back in furnishing limits are not consoles, but old gen consoles. So yes, it would be unfair for new gen consoles.

    it's also older PC's, not just PS4 and Xbox1.

And before update 41 PC had way lower requirements than PS4 and Xbox1, update 41 increased it to windows 10 and hardware of similar age.

i doubt pc will get another increase in requirements very soon and when it does happen it'll probably happen with consoles.
Probably not until 2026 or 2027, 2027 would likely be when the new generation releases too.

    for your other suggestions,

1, surveys are personal so unless you're farming furniture materials use your surveys.
It's a multiplayer game so non-survey resources will probably stay for everyone.

3, furnishing crafting station would be awesome indeed.

4, i would love something for mounts, but other games having something will never equal it being possible for this game.

5, isn't that the Group Finder that we got from update 40?

For 7, I think I'd just want the sliders to have more freedom, and give us more masculine hairstyles. This wouldn't change existing characters and upset people, but still give something to those of us who want a little more.

Most of the time I find myself struggling with character creation because a slider just doesn't go far enough. One of my biggest issues is that for Nords and even Imperials (speaking mostly of men anyway), their eyes are so close together and I can't fix it.

more freedom with the sliders would indeed be good.

Maybe the character creator including all our owned appearance collectibles would be nice, hairstyles and eye colours for example

    Stop all new content. Period.

Server performance (rubber banding, "Error has occurred", 203, hard crashes, lag in general, etc) is absolutely in an unacceptable state for a game/company that has been around for so long.

IMO none of the other QoL changes matter if people can't play the game without being kicked.

So because we have RMTs and bots plaguing the game, the rest of the player base should suffer? This is a weak argument. I have seen many mmos where the nodes are client side and I don't ever see bots farming in a pattern. GW2 is a good example of this.

    5. No. Group finder finds you groups for specific things. I'm suggesting two different daily queues for dungeons. One for easy base game dungeons and one for dlc dungeons. Sort of how we have normal mode queue for daily and veteran.

I came here to say this.

    1. I'm ok with nodes being server side. Containers are client side, and chests in group content are group-lootable. Having a differences in the way the game handles different kinds of loot adds variety. If nodes were made client-side, would they then have to do it like GW2, where each node can only be harvested once per day?

    5. In normal, DLC dungeons are not hard. You only queue for random vets if you are quite confident in your abilities.

    1. Other games have server-side nodes, and they work just as they do here. The number of nodes would be because it is shared.
    4. I think everyone would like to see some new mount designs. I have never seen anyone say it can't be done as that would be silly so not sure why that is here. I think it comes down to lack of creativity since that seems to be reflected in the quantity and quality of content we are getting these days.
    5. Duty Finder? We have a group finder where we can queue for whatever dungeons we want. There is no reason to duplicate this. We can deselect the DLCs if we choose.
    6. Unfortunately, Zenimax has said no to a furnishing bag (assume that is what the table is). The query would be notably larger than the bottomless crafting bag since the number of furnishings dramatically outweighs the number of crafting items. So it comes down to server lag, so this will not happen until the servers perform adequately, and we are not there yet. This is something I have suggested many times.

Reading some of these comments really disheartens me.... We aren't capable of a positive mentality and imagining that the game can have improvements, much less is there agreement amongst the community that we should have changes.

Things will continue being as they are... so don't complain then when the game is lacking, players are leaving, and you have no one to play with.

Are players really leaving the game because nodes are shared with other players, rather than in GW2 where they are instanced but you can only harvest each node once a day?

Are they leaving because they can't get Fungal Grotto I in their random dungeon queue 100 times in a row? Personally, if we could opt-out of 5 dungeons and it still be considered a random, I'd opt out of FGI and SCI forever.

Nobody said any of this, have some deductive reasoning. Here I'll explain: I'm suggesting some improvements to current gameplay, and its upsetting to see the community react to any changes whatsoever negatively or like its impossible to implement.

Some things *are* impossible (or very hard) to implement. More housing space has been requested for years. ZOS have said they would love to do it, but not at the price of someone being stuck loading into a house forever and having to contact support to (hopefully) retrieve their character.

If older gen consoles are holding the game back that hard, they just need to drop them. Full stop. The game is in a very bad place and needs a serious QOL update. And if old hardware is preventing that, it needs to stop holding everything else back.

Be serious now... I never said to drop the whole console and close those servers, but to add more support for PC and limit older consoles. If you want to be that dramatic, games like FFXIV have dropped older consoles altogether and only updated for the newest ones.

Better housing editing options, create manipulate etc.

    Furniture storage

Biggest thing is a survey marker. A way to turn on or off. I can't stand doing surveys anymore, because I constantly have to look many of them up, especially newer zones. With 10+ characters and the surveys add up, when you spend a day doing them it just takes so long!!!

Get rid of items lying around the areas where you turn in your daily writs.

Move creation above fillet in the provisioning station. lol I don't know why this bothers me, I'm trying to hurry and do all my dailies.

This is typically a player that thinks they are bigger and better then other players just because they play games on PC.

Im pretty sure my Ps5 are not holding anyone back and for ps4 players I dont blame them for still playing on ps4 its still a great console!

And I sure dont want Zos to leave them out of the game because some PC gamers want to put 10000 items in their house.
