    I don't understand the last bit. How can smaller guilds compete if the outlaw traders are linked? Won't the larger guilds just outbid them anyway?

    Nothing will ever out shine the prestige and foot traffic of the capital cities. I run several trading guilds. And even with the added features listed, the highest foot traffic most accessible traders will always be at the pinnacle of what players flock to. And no matter what you do to outlaw traders, they simply don't compare the mournhold or elden root as trade centers.

    I figure it's become rather an "imperative" to at least show the "attempt" to prevent children (those under 18 in the US) from being obvious in not only this game but others our very Victorian country sees as "adults only". Once a major corporation gets involved (Microsoft) things get really iffy with the government and COPPA.

    I had to totally privatize a bunch of sites I ran for years when COPPA hit, because I just didn't have the time or energy to deal with all that. So now, I'm down to one gaming forum, and it's only people I've known for 20 years now, so I KNOW they're not children....

    It's been mentioned a couple of times already, but it's probably the most important point to me, so I'll mention it too.
    More guild slots please. I don't need to have access to more traders than currently. But there's so many different activities in game that are improved vastly by being in guilds that are sort of specialized in that activity.

    I'd like to at least be able to stay in my 4 trading guilds, because that's an important function in the game I absolutely need a guild for. But eso would improve for me if I could also be in at least one pvp guild + one trial guild + one mixed pve guild (for dungeons and suchlike) + one social guild + one housing guild + fishing guild (admitted, only needed occasionally, but it's a hassle to be in and out of guilds) + one private guild for the bank so my accounts (my husbands and mine) can keep being playable.

    Just make it so people can only post listings in up to 5 guild stores by making it toggleable which ones of your guilds guildstores you want to participate in. That is if zos feels the need to limit it ;)

    Not everyone works on the same things and multiple teams review this information. So we have teams working on performance and bug fixes, but those are not the same people who work on systems, like Guilds.

    Really, if you want feedback on guild management and utilities, you should reach out to the Guild leaders of the game. Not just the PC players either. Console guild management is very rough.

    We built this survey after talking to some ESO guild leaders (across PC and Console) at some of our in-person events. The goal it to get feedback both from leaders and guild members (both current or lapsed) to better understand pain points and see how we can better improve the experience.

    That's nice and all, but it seems like you should already have a rock-solid understanding of your best bang-for-buck efforts in this area. Just go ahead and do them. I mean, does it take a survey to know that literally everyone who bothers with guilds needs more than 5 slots?

    Guild furniture would be nice. The only guild "merch" to show guild dedication since launch is the tabbard.
    You have guild furniture and leave that guild? It turns white (like the tabbard).
    You want to show in your house what guilds you are in? Place the crests or carpets or whatever in your house to show it.
    Or... it could be guild furniture to toggle between your guilds crests.

    I would say they should double the amount of guilds you can be in IF they have an active eso plus subscription. Otherwise it's just 5.

    It’s near impossible to foster guild relationships when the game never pushes you into guild activities, and it doesn’t help that you need to have four other ones for trader access.

    Any GM can attest to this, what we have with ESO is a failed system, in guilds with 500 people, you only ever see 15 people max in guild chat.

    I’m glad that Zenimax are finally treating this as a problem, but why wait a decade?

    most typically, games only allow you to be in 1 single guild at a time, sometimes this was a per-character thing

    my experience with previous MMOs is city of villains/heroes, which had a guild system where each character could be in only 1 at a time, but because it was per character you could have different characters in different groups (i usually always just had all my characters in the same guild, though i really wished it did it on an account level like eso does)

    that game did have a central auction house system, so guilds were pretty much only for group content/RP, etc

    in that game, the guilds did have their very own "house" (called a supergroup base) which could be extensively built and customized with a range of cosmetic and functional items

    They need to start with increasing the number of players that can be in a guild from 500. That’s one of the reasons GM’s run multiple guilds is because their main guilds stay around the 500 player limit.

    They also need to do something to overhaul and improve the way the traders work. Most other big MMO’s have a central auction house where everyone lists their items at one location but in ESO we have a hundred guild traders that are spread all over Tamriel as mini markets.

    The problem with the way traders work in ESO is all the foot traffic goes to the major capitols and so the biggest guilds with the most gold control the prime spots where items are actually likely to sell. With most of the other traders which are sitting out of the way or are in dlc zones the items just sit there unsold for 14 days.

    The devs also need to look at adding some type of daily content specifically for players to do with their guilds. Outside of access to a trader or to find a group for a trial or dungeon there’s nothing that really encourages you to join a guild or do anything with your guild.

    I didn't think to put this into my survey answer because I didn't consider it a guild feature per se, but please, pretty please, build the functionality that Tamriel Trade Centre provides into the game. I don't expect a centralized auction house but this would dramatically improve the trade experience for most players, especially console players.

    Instead of increasing the number of guild slots available to players, a more effective solution would be to enhance the capacity of existing guilds. If guilds are functioning optimally, players should ideally feel satisfied and engaged within a single community.

    The current system, as it stands, is flawed. Merely adding more guild slots will not address the underlying issues; rather, it will dilute the player base further, leading to fragmentation and reduced community engagement. By expanding the size and functionality of guilds, we can create a more cohesive and vibrant environment where players feel a stronger sense of belonging.

    Enhanced guild functionalities could include improved communication tools, shared resources, and collaborative activities that encourage deeper connections among members. With these enhancements, players would have less incentive to join multiple guilds, fostering greater loyalty to their primary community. Ultimately, this approach would cultivate a more committed and engaged player base, benefiting both the players and the game as a whole.

    Agreed. I don’t think PC players understand how bad the trader system is on console where we don’t have addons like Tamriel Trade Center.

    I remember the difficulties that the developers mentioned regarding guild houses. Therefore, I consider it necessary to repeat my idea of two years ago: Guildhall this is the same zone for all guilds (technically a dungeon in its essence, but in the form of an acquired DLC), where the whole furnitures is already there and nothing can be changed, but you can unlock the guildhall area - new castle premises, unlock gardens around it, houses. Furniture, stations, and non-player characters are also unlocked for achievements and currency. Each guild goes its own way to unlock the full functionality of its home. In general, all guilds will have the same guild house, the only difference is in the symbolism and the ability of the guild to open its rooms (some will be opened for achievements on the battlefields, others for a trade turnover, others for the duration of the guild's existence, and the like) The problem with overpopulation can be solved as in dungeons - mirrors: groups of players 20 people will not see other groups, but they will see their list of names, only the guild master will be in all of them.

    I run several large trading guilds. You are absolutely wrong. Outlaw Refuge traders are easily some of the worst locations, across every single metric, in the game.

    If that statement you made were true, the trade guilds would be fighting over those stalls. Sales wouldn't take an absolute nose dive in them and players would flock to those locations in droves.

    Even if traffic was (it's definitely not) mildly acceptable in outlaw refuges, having them connected is a win-win. Why even protest to this suggestion?

    The problem with ESO isn't just that the Devs don't give us the tools we need to run the communities in it or that the updates are lackluster, it's the fact the the forums have been so over moderated that most players don't use them at all. It's become an echo chamber of fan boys who don't want any real change and naysay everything unless ZOS says it then they just parrot it back.

    It's actually been amazing to watch over the last decade.

    I live in Vvardenfell and do not buy outside of my own 5 guilds and the guild vendors in Vvardenfell. Because it is a hassle. If I have to spend more than 1,000,000 yen for a very expensive purchase, I will do a lot of research.

    It's encouraging to see interest in improving Guilds. As a guildmaster with 500 members, my wish list:

    1. It would be INCREDIBLE for the guildmaster to be able to place their guild trader in the guild house. SO many people would use housing all the time if this was possible. I love housing but there is very little that draws people to go there. This is my #1 enhancement request in the game.

    2. Official guild house (that is intuitive and obvious to get to through the game interface)

    3. Raffle or contest built-in games that guildmaster could host would be amazing. Mostly to facilitate winners and prizes, rather than having to manually manage through mail system. I don't do raffles or contests but would all the time if there was an interface for it.

    4. Option to apply for a guild at the actual guild trader! The guild finder is nice but there is no way to search out a specific guild. This would be the #1 recruitment method if people could apply at the trader. I realize many guilds don't have a trader, but most popular ones do. It could be another option in the menu list, after "bid on trader".

    It's actually been amazing to watch over the last decade.

    Bruh, there is a world of difference between "no one goes there" and "I shop and sell there." No one is disputing that refuges see less foot traffic. But making an exaggerated claim and then getting butthurt when someone else's anecdotal evidence contradicts that is childish. Furthermore, if your claim were actually true, the same guilds wouldn't be actively bidding there all the time (which I know, because I have access to bids in multiple guilds as well).

    Five guild slots is a lot. The more guilds we are in, the less we do for the guild. I have found that guilds with 500 members, except trading guilds, tend to be all about the numbers instead of creating a great guild atmosphere with leaders organizing activities. I have kicked members who were there in name only or did very little with us as they were clearly not interested in being part of the guild. That does not mean they are exclusive to us but merely that they are a real part of our guild. They can be active with us if they want to wear our tabard.

    So, it is better to seek quality vs quantity.

    Letting gold be "lost" if donations to the guilds are made too fast is a really annoying bug that has been around for years yet has received no attention. ZOS deducts it from your total immediately, but it may not properly go into the guild (with you getting credit) if you go too fast.

    That is a major annoyance with guilds for me.

    It really depends on the purpose of the guild and your purpose in being there. A player might want to be really involved in a couple of guilds, but also is really into trading. If those more personal guilds don't have traders, at least on pc, that's lost data that could be helping you to price items well and sell faster. Then you have players who created personal guild banks by signing up during free play weekends because they need additional storage. And lastly, lots of GMs and officers have to give up fun guild slots to have another basically devoted to whatever guild they're running just to hold items used for fundraising. There are real and fair arguments to be made for increasing the number of available guild slots, and I don't think it takes away from any guilds that have a more selective view in mind for their communities.

    If you do t want more, you don’t have to join more but why restrict those who do.
    Not everyone likes or us the time to do every activity hence the need for multiple guilds. I have a trading guild, a PVP guild, a social guild and a couple of trials guilds.
    The survey needed to say that you can’t do it if you don’t tell us your age bracket. Why the restriction? Over or under 18 should be enough

    With all due respect are all these threads just in hopes to get players excited like for example the overland one? We’ve been told time and time again there is nothing that can be added without removing something else. All I hear is we can’t have this or that or how eso wish they could do this and that but can’t because of limitations due to the engine and the support of older hardware. I’m sure nothing will come of this besides the bare minimum or something that’s just mediocre like the last few chapters. I just don’t believe in the game anymore or the developers to deliver anything worth something until you fix all the limitations that are holding the game back.

    I feel like this is just another topic that will ignore all player feedback anyway and do whatever they planned to do regardless of what we want anyway. That’s the way it’s always been so why would this be any different ?
