I pay to play. That means I should be able to log into ESO and play anywhere I want at any time. Sorry for your loss.

I think this would only work if there were campaigns based on different prime times, with some type of campaign score bonus during each separate campaign's designated primetime.

The only issue is that that there would maybe be too many campaigns, unless they had like 3 10-hour campaigns that overlapped by 2 hours, so most players could pick one without getting caught in between two.

For the NA server for example:
A: 3pm-1am EST (maybe main NA primetime, even though I'm on PT)
B: 12pm-10pm Beijing time (or 2pm-12:00am for Sydney Daylight Savings time)
C: 9am-7pm Rio De Janeiro time (they'd also have the 5pm-3am time from campaign A to choose, for example)

Again, these are the times that campaign A, B, or C would have a scoring bonus, and you could pick whichever. So maybe one of these would work for most NA server players, whether they play evenings, nights, or daytimes for their respective timezone, whether it's New York, Australia, Brazil, SEA, wherever.

Don't know that nightcapping is a huge deal because it's just part of an international server, but I do see how it can make someone less attached to a campaign because of overnight changes. It might not be worth switching up the campaigns over it though, especially depending on population.

this is actually kind of a discriminatory post from OP

    No it's not. Settle down.

it kind of is... OP is annoyed that "non north-american guilds" are participating in the game and is suggesting they are locked out of meaningful participation. OP is suggesting ZOS treat these players differently from others. if thats not discrimination idk what is.

you even say its discriminating in your own comment:

    We've talked about this before.

The problem with campaign lockouts during regional off hours is that it prevents anyone living outside North America from participating in Cyrodiil. It also prevents any "late nighters" living in North America from playing Cyrodiil. You might think that's the whole point of the lockout and these other players can play a different campaign. But due to limited population, there is only one main campaign that everyone joins (Gray Host). It needs to be open 24/7 to support all players.

Anyone living outside North America would still be able to participate in Cyrodiil, just maybe not during their preferred hours.

Normally the word discrimination is used in the context of race, gender, ethnicity, etc. It's not used if you can't play a feature of a video game during a particular time slot. I often play Cyrodiil during the middle of the night (3am). A lockout would prevent me from playing during this time but I wouldn't consider myself discriminated against. That's a bit much.

"PC NA" implies a tailored experience for players living in North America but that's not really the case. There's a few things configured to benefit NA players, like the daily reset at 2am pacific, but Cyrodiil is not one of them. That's why OP and many others are frustrated with the night capping. They're fighting guards and sieging doors with no enemy players in sight. All of the hard work battling for 16 hours is lost overnight by players who have no enemy resistance. This is a serious design flaw.

Yes discrimination is usually based on race or whatever but it could just as easily be based on people wearing red or yellow. That's just a word used to describe what OP is asking for. I'm not calling them a bigot, you're missing the nuance here. I can't think of another word to describe treating one group of players differently than another. If you can think of another word please let me know. It's unfair to players who play at different times of day to have cyro active for only a certain portion of that day. That would be discriminating against those players.

It is not a design flaw that other players play the game while you're not playing the game.

One way to fix this "problem" would be to fix performance issues and bugs, and convince players that it's worth playing ESO again.

Then the campaigns would be filled 24/7 and almost all the problems people have with Cyrodiil at the moment would go away automatically.

Cyrodiil was supposed to be a place where hundreds of players come together to experience huge epic battles. Not whatever boring empty nonsense is going on right now.

Just like many other things in Cyrodiil this is not really a design flaw. It's causality. Action. Reaction. Cause and effect. (Yes i am old and i am quoting the Matrix...) Cyrodiil gets neglected for years -> players stop playing -> an awesome gamemode stops working because there is just not enough players anymore.

You could try to change the rules and make it a different game, but i am pretty sure that wouldn't work out the way some people hope it would.

If zos continues to ignore most of the offers. You paid money for fight alone in cyrodiil!
