Your idea of 20 and their's might be different. You probably mean a younger, never went outside and was spoonfed 20,not a outdoors fighting, mining, hunting, etc type of char.So it's all a matter of perspective.

You can play a scholar or a noble in this game though, and I doubt that a young Telvanni or the son of an Altmer kinlord spends a lot of time doing hard physical work or fighting.

There is also that maybe the character takes good care of their skin.

Even in a fantasy/medievel type setting, they still had skincare products, they might have been toxic to you (arsinic/lead for skin for example), but they still existed, and in a fantasy world, who knows what type of skincare they have.

Look at some of the telvanni, there are a lot of them that are ancient, but don't look that old.

Everyone should be able to recreate the character he or she sees fit (excluded children of course, see above).

I want to create a Bosmer who just left home for adventures and this implies that he looks very young.

Add to this the long life mer enjoy we could as well assume, at least I do, that they age better than we on planet Earth.

Considering that female characters can look very young with the current editor there is no reason why one should not be able to create a very young male as well.

BTW: I don't request removal of skins so everyone should still be able to create characters using any skin already in game. What I request to ADD additional skins.

It's the regular bathing. Notice how almost everyone on Vvardenfell has a bathtub. ;)

Nah, seriously: That's most probably magic. Normal hygiene and skincare dosn't really help against injuries that cause bigger scarring. But not everyone in Tamriel is a laborer or warrior, so some just wouldn't be affected by wounds or even intense sun exposure.

I think arsenic as skincare was a 19th century fad, btw? Lead was used much earlier, already in ancient Rome.

Why would anyone even want to play a child? Who would take a child adventurer seriously? Lore-accurate gameplay would probably revolve around staying at home and mending torn clothes or being in the garden feeding the chickens. Or being scolded by your parents because you did neither of these tasks they asked you to do. While that might feel adventurous to some, it might not be quite what the majority finds exiting ;)

Yeah, was going to note that my understanding of Tween is between 9-12.

Oh, ok. That is not what I meant. I meant someone around 20 years of age. My mistake (English is not my mother tongue).

I will correct title and precise it in the first posting.

EDIT: It was never and will never be my intention to create a playable child in ESO and I will never ask for such. I understand and fully support the decision to not model children at all in ESO.

    No worries! Thanks for clarifying.

    ???

I said now many times clearly that I DON'T ASK to implement the possibility to play a child.

I think we can close this side discussion for good now :)

It was just a misunderstanding due to me not being a native speaker.

Also it cracks me up in ESO when the writing suggests you're supposed to be speaking to a "young man" and the NPC looks like he's on the far side of middle age, lol. Even just for immersion it'd be nice if they had some younger textures.

In fairness, being under constant Daedric threat and an ever persisting war would age me too. Life in Tamriel takes its toll on people!

Yes, I understood. I was just wondering why someone would think you might have suggested that, as I can't think of a reason why someone would want that. It just makes no sense considering what the player character does in this game.

I was mainly using lead/arsenic as examples of how people have had skincare, long before the current day. I haven't looked into it a lot, I just know that people used to do all sorts of things (mostly women) to make their skin smooth and get rid of wrinkles and lighten their skin.

And yeah, for people in ESO, it would likely be a combination of things, regular bathing, making sure to take care of any wounds quickly, some sort of skincare routine, staying inside a lot of the time (or behind lots of heavy plate so that nasty cooky thingy in the sky won't touch the skin)

Also, who is to say that skincare in ESO isn't partially magic to begin with.

In anime, child and teen hero and protagonist is common, so maybe it come's from that.

Everyone's being really weird about the child thing lol.
Nobody asked for such, or even hinted at it. I think we can drop it, since OP never intended to mean that, either.

Haha I'll give you that, but I wonder why the women of Tamriel seem to age half as fast as the men... maybe they remember their sunscreen every day B)

Interesting and I found one that was supposed to 'keep your face looking young'.

I actually do not find the male characters of tamriel "old looking" and it's a strange thing to see people seem to talk down or negatively about male characters in this game.

It's cool to add more skin textures and options.

But I think the pressure to "stay young always"...again, it don't look old to me...people naturally do have lines around their eyes or mouth if they smile... instead of holding their face still like a robot... to be "attractive" is so unhealthy in society.

Yes make your character as you like it but, why throwing shade at older people and characters?

I don't know. I like their faces. they don't look unrealistic. give people options but don't destroy what already exists please.

I think some of the issues people are talking about here are issues that only become apparent as computers improve over time. My dunmer was young looking to me when the game launched but seems to have aged with the game somehow.

Maybe it was your way of interpreting this thread.

I did not say that the males look "old" in the sense of "ugly" and I think no one did that.

I simply put forward that female characters can look younger than their male counterparts at the same age slider position (e.g. on the most left position) and I think if we go for a discussion on society and how it deals with aging this point should give you more food for that kind of discussion than my request :)

I play a few male characters that look on their 30s or more and all have some wrinkles here and there, including on the forehead. I am completely fine with these characters.

I however want to have ONE of my male characters to be very young, just having reached adulthood. And I want this character to look like it. With the textures we have right now this is not possible (while it would be possible for a female character).

Yeah I tend to move the age sliders up a bit to make the character look a bit more weathered.

Actually I've long wanted that elderly personality a lot of NPCs have for my greybeard mage type characters.

I have one more addition to my request: Please don't introduce this as a bodypaint as we no longer could combine this with other bodypaints. It should really be attached to the age slider.
