PVP - Zos has lost controll about their sets, what is that?

Just hide and siege, best encouraging pvp experience ever.

So you can sit on a coldfire in 20 meter distance, siege and do 18k damage ticks per hit and can see through walls of keeps (enemy and own keeps, in shooter games we would call that a wall hack), become more tanky and cant get knockbacked. Cool story.

Wouldnt suprise me at this point. Tanks standing on a flag, placing an oil or an meatbag, can see through walls and are unkillable nice

Here is what gets me about the new set... I've been gaming for a very long time now... and the part "and you can see enemies through walls."<~~~ That is a clear definition of wallhacking... why is ZOS allowing this in Cyrodiil? That is essentially cheating! Nobody should be allowed to see enemies through walls.

I mean, technically Zenimax has shown that they're not against that already with tab targeting.... not that I'm in favor of this set, just saying though. (and don't NBs have an ability that lets people see an enemy through walls as well?)

I think my biggest concern for this set is it being used to scout keeps and stuff.

ZOS has no idea how strong siege is, even though it has unique debuffs that nothing else can do. This set is just a troll set, should never exist. Someone can spec fully into tank (like they all do) and get the same amount of damage on siege as someone with full damage. People sieging can apply 50% healing reduction to enemies, 20% extra damage taken to enemies, among other things, while being invulnerable.

As soon as I read it I was like.... "But there are already people that stand on siege without reacting to anything and barely take any damage."

    Also what's up Netch Oil?

    Heavy – Netch Oil
    2 – Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
    3 – Adds 1206 Maximum Health
    4 – Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
5 – While you have Crowd Control Immunity, you are immune to Snares and Immobilizations.

So uh what do they think Immovable Pots do? It basically reads to me as "while you are immune to Stuns, Snares and Immobilizations you are immune to Snares and Immobilizations". Someone do me a favor and try out the heavy armor skill and Sea Serpent's and see if this set allows you to ignore their effects. If so, welcome to the new PvP.

Oh exactly what the game needs, to buff siege players so they need no reason to ever leave siege.

Siege is already super strong, especially since lancers came in, there's no reason to give a set to buff players that already never leave their siege in the first place

We've had wallhacks for a while now.

Edit: Also forgot to include tab targeting, and the Fighter's Guild ability, Expert Hunter, when fighting werewolves and vampires. Turns out that white glow remains on your target till they go invisible, sneak, or die.

The problem I see is my siege can still be burned while I'm on it. I purpose that they make it so your siege is immune to burning while you are on it.

Ah, my memory is a bit hazy. I haven't used them in years. Maybe they used to give snare immunity too? Or maybe I'm just getting forgetful.

Either way if it only works with potions then it's beyond useless. If it does work with self snares then it bring a whole new level of 1vX trolling to the table.

I wish they'd just stop making changes for Cyrodiil. The devs don't PvP and none of their changes are going to be good ones. So just stop doing more damage.

You can plainly tell that there is no PvP dev. Otherwise they'd know you can put 4 ballista in front of a door with a ram in the middle. The set says it does not work with a ram, but if you are on a ballista and close to the ram, you add to the ram count. Will the set still work since you are using the ballista and the ram at the same time?

To play devil's advocate: I imagine their thinking was that you don't get the damage reduction while standing on a ram and fighting normally.

Of course everyone here already knows why it's still an absurd buff. 10% would have been strong.

of cause it will. Also you can literally place oil on a backflag, even when it doesnt hit and can outtank all incoming dmg then

I'm happy with this set because as a DC player, my favorite people at sieges are the few players who actually bring siege!

Siege is a nice way to contribute to the bigger objectives in PvP if you're not on a character that can 1v1 very well. Or if no one else is sieging.

If this set makes people too unkillable, people will just need to put more effort into their siege-ganking builds. I mean, it's a stationary target, and you can burn siege.

Plus, the whole effect goes away the moment you drop siege or someone burns your siege to death.

Edit: Maybe it should reduce healing taken while sieging to prevent some permasieging.

Siege already having unique debuffs from back in the days when major defile was 30% and major vuln was 30%, yet the siege hasn't been updated after these changes.

Scattershot is a 20% dmg taken debuff, which is double MAJOR vuln, oil debuffs you for 50%, and people on siege don't have to spec into damage at all to take full advantage of the damage and debuffs siege do.

Oh, but we wanted to make them tankier and unable to be interrupted, so here's a set to make this an even bigger problem.

It is a siege troll wet dream.

You know, a type of player that will just place a siege, alone and try to tag the keep. Trying to siege the player back won't kill them. Attacking alone also won't kill them. At best you will just keep fighting indefinitely till the keep is tagged as every time troll is CC-ed, they will use CC immunity to activate siege. You burn their siege ? They will place another 2. And if the keep is tagged, they will radio for help & 10 or more players show up.

In a scenario like this, you literality need to call for help, for at least 5 players in order to get rid of troll like this.

I honestly think that behaviour like this should not be promoted. ... but it seems like it is ! It is the worst part. When I see set like this, it looks to me as if this type of player is ZOS target audience. They want more behaviour like this...

*looks around*... I guess Cyro is not going to be my place for a while... time to move on.

I'm okay with this set... with the exception of seeing through walls.

Part of what makes PvP great is being able to wait for an enemy to take down a door, stack up on a side and rush them and push them out. Or, the flip side and rush in. Having some one being able to see through walls is a bit.... janky?

Also, can't you get banned for wall hacks? How is this any different? Genuinely curious.

Siege is the main form of PvP in Cyrodiil. Why fight ball group vs ball group when you can siege from afar? It's safer, and it's designed to help you defend or assault keeps and resources, which is the main objective in Cyrodiil.

We have other modes for character combat, like Imperial City and Battlegrounds. Siege is an integral part of Cyrodiil PvP, so it's disingenuous to say that the "real Cyrodiil PvP" shouldn't involve it at all. This set sounds like it's designed specifically with Cyrodiil PvP in mind.

Not trying to defend it or anything, but being able to see enemies through walls or other objects is actually part of the Elder Scrolls lore from other games in the franchise:

    Morrowind:
    - Detect Animal
    - Detect Enchantment
    - Detect Key

    Oblivion:
    - Detect Life

    Skyrim:
    - Detect Life
    - Detect Undead

That doesn't mean it's a good thing to add something similar-ish to AW PvP; I'm just saying there's a legitimate lore basis for this sort of thing.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!
