Often having some time to play at noon/afternoon and today found this maintenance again. Now I have to wait for 3 hours on Monday while I want to farm my gear. The maintenance for EU could easily be performed during the night, when the night cappers are active. How can someone keep up who has a lot of time during office hours?

To be honest there is no good time for maintenance xD

no matter if they put in morning, afternoon or at night there will be someone who plays at that time and he/she would be angry xD

the only thing is to hope its short and there are no major f.... afterwards

make it quick and painless zos

Oh, like how every event the Americans have 4 hours before they wake up to get the last day of event tickets while Europe has like 12 hours? Or how the EU gets way more in-person events than the US, especially since the US ones only just started back up after the pandemic while EU’s been going for a while and the US ones get less than three weeks of notice and flights are around twice as expensive? Or maybe how EU normally gets to have their characters and collections on PTS for 10 weeks every patch cycle so they can test builds while NA gets a grand total of two?

Yeah, not everyone cares about each of those things, but some people do. Both servers get hit in different ways. And I know a lot of NA people that wouldn’t mind not being able to play during the middle of the day (y’know, since they’re at work) if we did get some of those benefits you have instead.

Besides, it’s not like this is a surprise. We get an incremental or maintenance every other Monday, unless there’s a holiday in the US (like the last one). And there’s always a forum banner.

Would be interesting to know what's happening during the 6 hour maintenance. A lot of copying and restarting i guess? Updating some hardware hopefully? I have no clue, but i could send some old ssds and cables if that helps

And why does it have to happen at the same time on EU and NA server? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to play on one server while the other one is being worked at? Are the EU servers and NA servers connected somehow?

There is ALWAYS daytime for someone on the globe so someone will always be affected. It's not only Europeans using the Europe servers.
And would you like to work at night, just because someone doesn't like it when you work daytime? Let alone legal regulations, night shift allowance, availability and work-life balance? You're not the only person in this equation.

Prime playing time for Australians (7/8pm start, depending on whether one lives in a daylight savings state).

Always been the way. I wouldn't worry about it. Just plan for maint to be on Mondays at X time, then you can't be disappointed/complain. I play BG3 or FO4 or catch up on talking to RL people (hahahaha).

The joys of EU and update times. While it's inconvenient for you and others, I'm sure it's a great time for other people.

I don't see any reason to make such a suggestion/complaint on something which is basically "My time is more valuable than others, so change this thing for ME".

There just isn't ever going to really be enough reason to change the time of this update for EU, because it's never going to be perfect for everyone.

You should change your own real life schedule to work around ZOS updates, rather than the other way around if it's such an issue.

ZOS Times > Our times.

"US players are asleep during maintenance" and bad luck for the rest of the planet...

I play this and another MMO that is Japanese and I've learned to just deal with the maintenance. I'm in the eastern US so ESO is usually when I'm at work in the morning. The Japanese one usually goes down when I get ready for bed.
It's not a big deal just plan to do something instead. Only time that stinks is when Japan MMO is 48 hrs.

Those in Australia should get somewhere between a 5% and 10% discount on ESO+ to compensate for all the downtime they get during their prime time
