What we are getting is a load of unnecessary titles (probably assigned to the incorrect character) taking up database content

With the database savings from removing all of the duplicated achievements across characters, they now have oodles of space for new achievements, I guess.
Every new pointless tiny achievement we get I feel insulted by. AWA killed dungeon endgame. That’s not worth adding achievements that serve no purpose. There’s no motivational purpose to getting the survey achievements, or the hireling achievements, or the larceny per zone achievements. There was motivational purpose to individual character HMs and Tris and Challengers. But it’s gone and dead forever for this. Salt poured right into the flesh wound, ZOS. #SaveDungeonEndgame

Nah, some data is missing. I've gotten an achievement for doing my "first" blacksmith survey map today... And obviously, I'm a "social adept" because I have accepted some guild invite... years ago. The whole thing comes across as super strange to me. Like, there's info stored that has no big meaning for a playthough at all (number of received hireling letters?!), while things that would be interesting has obviously not been stored.

Each hireling message is unique, so all the game needs to know is which is the last message you got. If your last message is #482, then it'll send you #483 at the reset, and so on.

Are you sure about that? The messages are not all unique, but at some point, they repeat. I would have guessed that there's a counter until that last message, and if you reached the last one, it's done. And it's much lower than 500.

No titles or any other rewards, but these things show up as achievements in the achievement list. I got a good dozen after logging in today. Some do make some sense (like one big achievement summarizing all WB or dungeon or main quest achievements of all regions of the past 10 years), some (like the hireling mail thing)... less.
As for titles, I still want an Apostle title for completing CWC
