    I do have this bug A LOT. I already offered a easy Fix (or at least placeholder Fix) to this multiple times.

    Allow Mounting in Combat.

    The Mount stamina system prevents you from just riding away from a previously committed Fight since a few attacks deplete all your mounts stamina during the mounting animation and will drop you right down on your butt.

    There, fixed.

    There's no reason you should be stuck in combat in your alliance home bases.

    Just fixing that would be a huge leap forward.

    Yeah, the combat bug is bad, but the fact that you can die and still be in combat even when there is nobody else in your group and you port to the complete opposite side of the map is insane. Don't know how this massive issue hasn't been addressed yet. It has plagued the game for years. Must be because it's more prevalent in PvP.

    The combat bug is remarkably annoying. When in cyrodiil I have to just walk from keep to keep because I can never get out of combat to mount or keep recall stone. Presumably you're still "in combat" with players you were fighting previously but its very frustrating to fight for a few seconds and be unable to mount until the next time you die.

    Amazing this bug actually occurs to me in pve too. If im on my mount and aggro some mobs but keep running I can expect to be in combat for the next 2 minutes and sometimes mobs in dungeons get stuck out of the map making using doors or the hardmode scroll later in the dungeon impossible.

    Its truly astounding that zos hasnt done something to address this considering the game has been out for 10 years. Perhaps you should just get out of combat if you have dealt any damage or received any damage for 30 seconds or something.

    This bug for me results in quitting the game the day it happens. First I play as slow Templar. Second, I can’t seem to get in any keeps while in combat. Third, usually fixing this requires a full PS5 system restart and going into the start up options and clearing the cache, which doesn’t always work. Once the system is back up 9 out of 10 times eso servers lock me out for about an hour if not longer. Yeah, so usually I just quit.

    I just had this happen to me in Summerset and could not get out of it. I ran through a boss being attacked and Miri started attacking. I kept moving to my next destination only to find I was stuck in combat and it would not release. I despawned Miri still no help. So I just found some critter, stood there and let it kill me. That was the only way I could get the game to release my character so I could fast travel or exit. :/

    In Pvp, death is not always the answer.

    One resurrects at a keep, walks 5 paces, and can suddenly be back in combat.

    There's also issues when grouped, and a team member rides past a wolf... and no one else can then mount.

    It's game breaking because people cannot adjust skills or bars.

    Pvp also has many 'effects' with visually remain on the bar long after they were meant to have expired. Devs are well aware but this is also never been fixed.

    Sometimes these effects are also bugged and the player assumes they're visual and they're not -they're still active.

    I've been noticing this a lot lately, that I can port into Cyrodiil, then port into a keep, not even in a group, and now suddenly I'm stuck in combat without ever seeing an enemy player or even leaving the transitus area. And the keep is not lit, or even under attack. It's like SIC is a virus that you can catch from players in your own faction!

    How is the stuck in combat bug getting worse and worse over the years, and never better? Somebody explain this to me in simple terms.

    At least in ES 5, the mudcrabs put up a decent fight. The mucrabs in ESO are pathetic! :)

    Yes, it sucks. There's a really simple fix that I've mentioned before - simply turn all the things that you can't do while in combat into things that you can't do if you've taken damage in the last 10s. There are some events like that already (escaping from pve mobs through a door, for example) and it's reliable. There's nothing in the game that would be game breaking if it were changed from "can't do while in combat" to "can't do if taken damage in the last 10s".

    No idea, I read it somewhere once when I was stuck and it's worked for me every time I have had to do it.

    You know what's funny about this problem...

    When I'm playing on my arcanist, runeblades will not generate crux the first time you use it if you are not already in combat.

    This seems to happen *very* reliably. Regardless of whether the game is telling me I'm stuck in combat. Maybe they should look at how they coded that and see if they can apply it to in/out of combat detection more generally.

    This has happened to me several times on my sorcs. It's unfortunately very easy to Streak under the porch in keeps with elevated steps in front of the inner door.

    not a day goes by that it's not a part of my game, even in pve.

    If we are talking about the idea where:
    - you 'alert' an enemy and despite running 'forever' they continue to follow you until you actively turn and confront them
    - then then will attack and interrupt you
    - then they become unkillable while they turn and run back to their spawn location.

    Then everything about that behaviour coupled with no apparent interest in a fix, tells me that this one of many, deliberate game play changes. It's not a bug.

    I have no experience with the mount problem.

    It happens a lot to me. Consider yourself lucky if you don't experience it. You aggro a mob and it returns to its spawn but you never leave combat. The only option to fix it is to either kill your character, queue up for cyrodiil, or Alt-f4 the game. I find myself doing the latter more often these days and not logging back in out of pure frustration. I would really hope at some point they would fix this.

    It's not a bug, most of the time you're stuck in combat because you hit a ball group in Cyrodill who stay in perpetual combat because of how they play. The whole reason I left Greyhost is that I wanted to escape this style of play, however, ball groups have been coming to Blackreach also. Most people in Blackreach will not defend or engage when they see a ball group.

    Yesterday I died, respawned at the home base safe zone, and was still "in combat" somehow. There's no way in hell that's intended behavior. Pretty sure a dev post here called this bug "a thorn in our sides" or something like that.

    It is 100% a bug. There was a patch where they actually fixed it and you would drop combat. It happens in pve as well, not just cyrodiil.

    I've been having a really frustrating issue while trying to leave Cyrodiil. For the past 15 minutes, I've been stuck in combat and can't seem to get out of it. It's making it impossible to exit the area.

    This bug has been around for years and years. Why would you even need a combat mode at all?

    When in Cyro, go visit uncle Cheesemonger. That'll clear the combat mode.

    It's annoying in Pve when you try to mount and you're "in combat" with an enemy about half across the map away.

    Get rid of the combat mode. It has no mission

    Could we install a slaughterfish pond in each base so you can jump in to get out of combat by death. This pond could remove all buffs/debuffs as well, especially the ones with bugged out timers.

    Why waste any server energy tracking combat with the dead in the first place? Seems unnecessary.

    Yeah, it has ruined every PVP group I've tried. The only thing that works is to port out and reset. I'll keep watching for something in the patch notes saying "they have removed it from the game". OBVIOUSLY, it can't be fixed so just remove it. It serves no purpose. It doesn't stop players from "getting away" in PVP or PVE. If anything it promotes just porting out.

    *Ahem* specifically, swap out the dagger for a 2-handed claidheamh-mòr. Your wife will be quite happy with the upgrade! o:)

    Back on-topic, I've gotten stuck in combat in BGs literally when I've gotten in the group and the battle hasn't even begun. The beginning countdown is still in effect, but I encounter the red "battle border" - go figure that out!
