There's no reason you should be stuck in combat in your alliance home bases.
Just fixing that would be a huge leap forward.

Amazing this bug actually occurs to me in pve too. If im on my mount and aggro some mobs but keep running I can expect to be in combat for the next 2 minutes and sometimes mobs in dungeons get stuck out of the map making using doors or the hardmode scroll later in the dungeon impossible.
Its truly astounding that zos hasnt done something to address this considering the game has been out for 10 years. Perhaps you should just get out of combat if you have dealt any damage or received any damage for 30 seconds or something.

If we are talking about the idea where:
- you 'alert' an enemy and despite running 'forever' they continue to follow you until you actively turn and confront them
- then then will attack and interrupt you
- then they become unkillable while they turn and run back to their spawn location.
Then everything about that behaviour coupled with no apparent interest in a fix, tells me that this one of many, deliberate game play changes. It's not a bug.
I have no experience with the mount problem.
Yesterday I died, respawned at the home base safe zone, and was still "in combat" somehow. There's no way in hell that's intended behavior. Pretty sure a dev post here called this bug "a thorn in our sides" or something like that.It's not a bug, most of the time you're stuck in combat because you hit a ball group in Cyrodill who stay in perpetual combat because of how they play.
