Wretched Vitality Needs a Nerf

I dont think that wretched needs a nerf, but one thing caught my attention in this thread.

Are there anyone here asking for buffs to Sorc right now? Really? Even after recent patches? Ok, just give the class infinite sustain and why not some infinite spell damage too. The class needs them since ppl choose to build for stats. This is mind blowing in the actual pvp scenario.

All the classes have to build with restrictions, so why should not be the same for sorcs?

Lets have a little common sense, please. Sorcs are already an issue as they are right now, specially with the change to the Ward. No more buffs until this is corrected for the sake of pvp.

"Heavy attacks are bad for DPS in harder endgame content. So the problem with mag sorc is that to sustain in endgame, you have to give up too much DPS compared to other classes. So mag sorc can do good but not great DPS easier than other classes/builds, but really struggle with top tier DPS numbers."

I usually spend my time in pvp, but this makes a lot of sense, since I find myself spending time to recover resources too.

I know dumb place to ask, but how do you just get the part of a quote that you want without all the other quotes before it?

You have to edit the quote string while in your message you are typing like my quote of you above, you would need to cut the ""[quote=name;XXXX to "[/qwote]" part you want to cut out

I would quote something with multiple and play around with it using the preview post button

I apologize to ask and I do with all due respect. However, where is the source that sorcs are not good for dps on end game?

Also, a post to nerf a set should not bring more buffs to sorcs at this moment by any means. As stated by many ppl, the class is a problem to pvp right now and this is just more food to the monster.

Classes are not meant to be perfect in every way every player thinks. Lets please, talk about wretched vitality and stop using any oportunity to ask for buffs for sorcs or even other classes too. It is not my thread and i am sorry if this sounds rude in any way.

Wretched is good, but I'd argue for buffs of other underwhelmed sustain sets.

I've been searching the whole set database for a good mag sustain set recently, I was looking for mag regen buffs, cost reductions, and flat resource restoration.

All resource restorations are **very underwhelming** when you count how much do they give in per second, except maybe Vivec's Duality (which has really hard restriction and it could be even bigger without being broken). And take into account that flat resource restore is worse than regen because you can buff regen.

    Now for cost reductions.
First of all, it doesn't perform the same role: I waste stam not only on skills I cast, but also for basic actions.
Second, it is still underwhelming. 400 magica less per cast doesn't equal 800 regen, because you are not casting 1 spell per second in PvP setting.

I'd like to see more single resource sustain effective sets.
By effective I mean the kind of sets I can put on and forget I ever had issues with sustaining that stat, because how many sustain 5pc sets we are supposed to run?

    Back to Wertched.
5pc is 400 both recoveries. It is on par with good Weapon & Spell damage sets, if we are talking stat density.
It is not on par if you are using both stats, but that's not a bad thing since hybrids exist.

    Buff single stat recoveries sets.

Rallying Cry is the only set currently in need of a nerf IMO.

As a Wretched Vitality crutcher, I know that it's too strong. But it's because it can be one barred that it's strong. If it had to be worn on the body at all times, I would call it balanced. That goes for most sets that can be one barred.

A way to resolve this problem is simply require that gear be double bar or the buff/debuff is automatically removed if you swap to the other bar. This would impact wretched, trickery, and any set that gets a timer after it proc.

Front bar/back bar power is a corner of fun and good theory crafting in this game. There should be more competitive options for these types of builds not less, otherwise everyone would just run two front bar 5 pieces and an arena weapon with a monster set or trainee+mythic.

As others have mentioned, it's fine to have a strong set but what this really does is highlight how atrocious basically ALL of the competing options are.

If ZOS were more nuanced in the way that they balanced sets they would also take into consideration not simply that something is a 5-piece but the conditions under which you can use the set. Half of WV's appeal is that you can strictly back-bar it, which is very appealing and also very difficult to find in a set. Sets that have "worse" conditions, particularly ones that must be double-barred, should have a higher power budget - because the opportunity cost of running them vs. a strictly back-bar set is that much higher.

The main reason wretched is so strong vs other sets is that its one-barable. And so easy, just switch to backbar, cast race against time and boom its all done.
