While it's certainly probable that we will get new Grimoires in the future, what about the possibility of us getting new Scripts? The achievement "Pen is Mightier than the Sword" states that the currently obtainable Scripts are offered "during the initial Scholarium expedition", implying that these are not the last of the Scripts we'll see:
So, it's not out of the question that we may get new Scripts in the future with new effects. Some of the Grimoires we currently have also have unique Scripts that no other Grimoire has, such as:
- Trample, with the Signature Script "Cavalier's Charge", which adds an increase to damage as the ability persists.
- Ulfsild's Contingency, with the Signature Script "Growing Impact", which adds enhanced buff and debuff application to the ability.
- Mender's Bond, with the Focus Script "Restore Resources", which adds resource restoration to the ability.
So, in the above cases, the Scripts were likely designed for the particular ability for which they are unique to, but they are still generic enough to be applicable to future, unreleased Grimoires. In this fashion, I'll review all of the existing skill lines, and think up some new Script effects which may be thematically applicable to some of these skill lines which have not yet been covered by the initial Scholarium expedition.
Focus/Signature Scripts (Could be added as either Focus or Signature, or as both)
- Stealth. Can be implemented as a reduction to your detection radius or as invisibility, depending on the Grimoire in question. Most likely will be usable on Grimoires for the Medium Armor, Shadow (Nightblade), Legerdemain, Dark Brotherhood, and Thieves Guild skill lines, due to the common theme of stealth.
- Detection. Can be implemented as an increase to your Stealth Detection, which can pull enemies out of invisibility. Might be usable on Grimoires for the Psijic Order and Scrying skill lines, due to their nature of "seeing" with magic (inspired by the "See the Unseen" passive in the Psijic Order skill line and the use of the Antiquarian's Eye for Scrying)
- Thorns. Will most likely apply the damage type of the Focus Script as outgoing damage to the attacker. Might be applicable on a Support Grimoire, as it's a PvP-oriented effect that support builds may want to use on themselves or their allies.
- Charge. The opposite of the existing "Pull" Focus Script, which instead brings you to the target or acts like a blink, depending on the Grimoire's implementation. If an Undaunted Grimoire had both "Pull" and "Charge", then Pull could pull an enemy to you, which is useful for tanking in PvE, while "Charge" could instead pull you to the enemy or ally, like Shield Charge or Nature's Grasp, respectively. Maybe a Support Grimoire would instead have this "Charge" Script function as a blink, rather than a gap closer with a target.
