Let's compare the times that, through the Daily Login Rewards, the Orsinium DLC and Murkmire DLC were given away for free:
    • When was the DLC given for free?
      • Murkmire — 24 November 2018. Near the end of the month.
      • Orsinium — 2 March 2024. Near the beginning of the month.
    • How long had the DLC been out?
      • Murkmire — About 1 month.
      • Orsinium — About 8 years.
    • What was the likelihood that someone would've obtained the DLC before the DLC was given for free?
      • Murkmire — Players were informed when the DLC was announced that it would be given for free later. Few people wanted to buy the DLC before it was given away for free.
      • Orsinium — This DLC is regarded as one of the best DLCs, it was included in The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition, and it is included in the Guilds and Glory DLC pack, which includes other popular DLC like the Imperial City DLC. It is likely that players would have this DLC before knowing it was being given away for free.
    • How did the community react to it being given away for free?
      • Pretty much the exact same way. Seriously, look up threads about Murkmire being in the Daily Login Rewards in November 2018. History repeats itself.

The bug where you cannot progress past claiming the owned DLC in the Daily Login Rewards likely existed back in 2018, but nobody seemed to catch it.

It was unlikely to happen — few people wanted to buy a DLC that they knew would be given away for free, and even if they did buy it, they'd have to claim the rewards at least 24 times that month to have seen the bug. Now in 2024, it's extremely likely to happen — there were many years of not knowing that the DLC would be given away for free, the DLC is popular and included in some Editions and DLC packs, and then the DLC was given away for free at the very beginning of the month.

The last time a DLC was temporarily given away for free, it was the Deadlands DLC, and it was given away via a bundle in the Crown Store, not in the Daily Login Rewards. Also related, there was an issue at one point where players couldn't buy the Guilds and Glory DLC pack if they had previously claimed the Imperial City DLC (which became free in 2019) but that issue has since been resolved. It'll just be a matter of time until this issue with the Daily Login Rewards is resolved, much like the previous issues regarding DLCs being given away for free.

Virtually nobody is upset about Orsinium being given away though. At least I haven't seen it.
Some people were upset that giving Murkmire away for free would lower the value of their ESO+ subscription, but that's an entirely different issue from today.

    Last day reward greyed out
right now 19h till next reward

I followed a post on reddit and ported to a owned DLC zone (Deadlands)
    This fixed my issue.

I already had orsinium but was able to claim it now.
This fixed the greyed out day 31 too.
All is fine now it seems :)

Can confirm, porting to Deadlands fixed my issue too. I didn't own Orsinium, but have ESO+ that allowed access, now I could claim it.

I also travelled to Fargrave from a wayshrine, and then was able to "claim" Orsinium (I already had it), and then the March 31 rewards became unlocked again.

Had the same issue on 2 accounts. Both PC-EU and both with ESO+

Fixed issue on account 1 (Non Steam) - Travelled from Daggerfall Wayshrine to the Brass Fortress Wayshrine (Clockwork City). This did not fix the reward issue but when I used the Wayshrine again, no map was showing, so I had to leave the Brass Fortress on foot.
When I went through the gate to the Clockwork City, the reward triggered.

    Thought I'd try the same on account 2 - PC-EU - Steam

Fixed issue on account 2 - This character had never visited the Brass Fortress Wayshrine, so I travelled from Daggerfall Wayshrine to the Clockwork Crossroads Wayshrine. Reward triggered on arrival.

Hope this helps some of you.

My friend is worried he can't collect and it won't advance to day 3.

Hey there, some folks were having issue with this earlier. We found that for some, fully turning off the console and restarting and logging back in resolved the issue.

Others found that deleting the ESO save data on your console helped. Seems like there is an issue with some on Xbox with the cache clearing properly. Link here for instructions.

This will removed any cached data, like brightness settings and such. But should resolve the issue of the calendar being up to date.

Give those a try and follow up just to confirm if those worked or not. We can troubleshoot from there.

I have tried everything suggested, including deleting my saved data on the PS4, to no avail. Please find a reliable solution @ZOS_Kevin

    deadlands solution:

worked for me on both xbox EU accounts.

At first did not work on my NA accounts.
Restarted game, tried again, did not work.
Then travelled from deadlands to fargrave - worked on both accounts.

I claimed the reward always once it popped up.

    Thanks for providing this workaround.

Got first confirmation in NA zonechat, that it worked for two others, too.

Question - What if you already own the Day 2 reward (Orsiniuma DLC) but do not have ESO plus - do you still get the bonuses mentioned on the official ESO Website? The bonuses are stated only for ESO plus members - but is that the truth? If so, its not fair to those who have financial constraints and cannot pay for ESO plus. The specific sentence I am referncing is highlighted in the below screenshot.

I already have everything they are giving away for free already too. Would be cool if ZOS gave those who already owned all(or some) of that stuff they are giving away for free, some seals of endeavours for their continued support.

Like if you own Orsinium already, you get 1k seals of endeavour.
If you own the mount already, you get 1k seals of endeavour.
If you own both the costumes already, you get 500 seals of endeavour. (not sure if there is more free stuff)
If you own the pet already, you get 200 seals of endeavour.

This would go a long way to players who are spending money on the game.

Kinda weird to treat those that have spent money on the game like this, because it makes it less attractive to spend more. Keep in mind, I left for years after I felt cheated by how the game went from Pay-to-Play to Buy-to-Play!

PS: This is my reply taken from another thread about this, which was linked here.

That is specific to ESO+ players, but all players will be able to claim additional rewards from 4th March for a few days for having completed some achievements in Wrothgar (Kingsmaker and killing world bosses from memory)

Do we know what those additional rewards are yet? If you ask me, all of the additional rewards should be available to ESO players, regardless of them having Plus or not - as it stands, I feel that those who pay are getting far too much favortism... but that is just my opinion...

Yes it is a mount and 3 costumes, they are related to having the kingsmaker achievement in wrothgar and defender achievement for killing world bosses. AFAIK its only the Dungeon DLC that is specific to ESO+

Free players are getting a DLC, 3 costumes, a pet, 2 mounts and 10 crown crates completely free this month, but god forbid people who pay £100+ a year get a little bit extra???

It’s not “favouritism” for people who pay for a subscription service that explicitly includes perks, to receive those perks.

Money is exchanged for goods and services and people who pay more get more it’s not a hard concept to understand.

This is another AWESOME month of rewards

There doesn't need to be "compensation" for those who have the DLC and mount already (Are you F-in serious??)
The month is stacked with crates, 500e, another mount, riding lessons, gold, Telvar, AP...

    FREE for everybody.

I remember many many lackluster months filled with pots, poisons, buff food and maybe one pet as the big thing.
Enjoy these months while they last IMO.

Even if you already own the DLC and mount (I do) you still have about $40(-ish) in free crates?

FWIW there are people who can't afford the DLC, now they get to enjoy it for free and Orsinium is a great DLC too!

Instead of focusing on what you don't get, try celebrating the successes of others a bit more.
You might find yourself feeling a bit happier too.

That isn't directed at any specific person, I just see comments in many threads like "What about meeeeeeeee?" and it isn't something new.

Broaden your focus, celebrate the successes of others.

"F-in serious" ? should I take it as an offense????
This reward behavior is very very irritating for people that have spent real money to buy something they are giving away for free.
It is a mockery and a slap towards those who buy from the crown store. How can you not understand? It's not so much that I don't get anything on that particular day. It's the fact that I spent real money to buy something a few months ago... which is now being given to everyone as a gift. Do they want to ensure that no one buys anything from the crown store anymore? this is the right way.

I mean, the entire process of gating desirable cosmetics behind crates or microtransactions is pretty heinous to begin with. Remember the outrage over the $10 Skyrim horse armor pack? (EDIT: whoops, it was Oblivion, and it was $2.50… sorry, it has been a while https://screenrant.com/oblivion-horse-armor-dlc-controversy-explained/ ) The microtransaction that spawned all other microtransactions? If we’d all stuck to our guns about the issue over the years, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation right now, as ALL cosmetic items would be purchasable with in-game currency and achievements, as was the case in the past. Instead, we softened up on the matter, and happily started handing over obscene amounts of money to video game corporations for our “shinies.” These rewards should not be the exception — they should be the rule.

You are the one who decided to drop 3k crowns on that mount. Perhaps take this is a valuable life lesson: spending $30+ on a cosmetic mount in a video game that only exists as long as the servers are up is possibly not a wise investment.
