Star-Made knight achievement is now impossible to complete

Super easy hotfix: I'm guessing it would amount to a couple SQL commands on the server to give everyone who logged in after the start of Whitestrake's the Echo of Pelinal's Fury achievement (for reading the scroll).

Hopefully we don't have to wait 6 months for this.

So new players have to wait a whole year to try to get this title/cosmetic? Thats very disapointing.
You could even retro it asap and just update the achviement for people who finished everything but that component?

I the future event? That’s some kind of joke or am I missing something? Is this that big of a challenge to add IDK like readable replica of a scroll near Mayhem NPC that you need couple months to figure it out?

I'm not sure if this was what you had in mind, but I suddenly got the mental image of my toon eating a bite of anniversary cake and then immediately bursting into flames. It made me giggle, thanks.

Well there is create the replica, create the new build, push out a new patch for everyone (so taking the servers offline etc). From a priority point of view I suspect it isn't urgent enough to create a new build etc

We will fix it sometime in the next year isn't nearly good enough.

This exposes some issues in general. This shouldn't be a huge issue to fix and where is the QA.

If this requires a whole new build and downtime that is a significant design issue. For instance why couldn't the item be emailed and not actually increase exp or whatever it originally did? This would serve as another way to notify people that an event is happening and to jump into that content.

Also when the item was deleted from the code where was the "find all" to figure out where else that item might be referenced in the achievements. Seems like finding out where things are referenced before removing them should be standard procedure.

I'm guessing people arguing this is no big deal already have the achievement and the item. Fine, I get it, you got yours and don't care if new people didn't.

For a game that wants you to participate in these events and care about collecting items and achievements the apparent apathy doesn't do much to incentivize continued play.

A better response is "Oops you're right we messed up. It will be fixed on X date. We are doing Y to prevent this from happening again in the future."

This is not the first time this achievement has been broken because no one thought about consequences.
It's some MyM back when they broke completely Pelinal Boxes and I couldn't get the achivement because they changed the ID of the boxes and the new ones after some hotfix didn't count in the achievement.
I just had to wait for the next MyM which was in about half a year to get two, yes stupid two boxes and this achievement.
But I'm alive. Unfortunately sometimes it is illogical that they make a hotfix the next day for a useless thing, but for more important things we have to wait, even if they can fix it.

In case it was missed in the patch notes - you can use the gore thing until update 42 if you still need to read the scroll to get the achievement

holiday->whitestrake mayhem

and all event achievements are account wide

if you dont have the specific part of the achievement that used to require the pelinel scroll, you would be able to complete the achievement using the fountain, if your still missing other parts of the achievement, you would have to wait for the next mayhem to finish it
