A Slap in the face for all those who PvP and hope for at leat some EXP.

So the only real form of EXP and Alliance Points for that fact has been the daily 20 kills which has now been nurfed to daily only. Fine.. Make people want to AvAvA less in already low populated campaigns. My advice... raise the exp and alliance points for taking keep and killing players. We took 5 keeps in a row with our guild last night to get about 800 total alliance points... We got what I believe was zero exp outside of guard kills which amounted to maybe a quarter of a bar for a level 10 after 5 keeps and 3 hours of work.

Understand that I am level 30, I am fine leveling outside of PvP too. But we have been doing nightly raids on Cryodil and it was already hard enough to pull people away from quest Exp. Now I cant even promise them a single level for hours of work put into securing our position in Cryodil and even better, I can promise then little to no Alliance points for doing it either....... I see this as discouraging PvP, when I tell you now is a huge draw to ESO, three factions, beautiful siege so much done right, but alas now we have no reason to do it pre-endgame, well done.

They made taking keeps less AP so that people wouldn't trade keeps for easy AP, not to mention the easy AP for playing at an off-peak time frame.

Killing people should give you the most AP, it IS Player Vs Player for crying out loud.
  • james220823b14_ESO
I disagree completely its AvAvA conquest which is controlling the map for crying out loud. Controlling the scrolls by trading keeps does not keep scrolls sorry to say. However, I agree it should not be much, but not non-existant, a now daily gives far more. I would be willing to compromise for some actual EXP though. Again were wanting to bring people to PvP for reason's other than a scroll.

It would be great if they raised the AP for taking points, but make it even higher for defending keeps... That way people have a lot more incentive to hold what they have.

Also, character leveling shouldn't be a factor in PVP... Only alliance rank.

They should just make it an ongoing automatic quest achievement because the main complaint about it was people suiciding to get the quest completed, thus leaving the tower/mission/etc. behind for their own personal gain.
  • james220823b14_ESO
I like the defending idea, now were steering the conversation towards advancements. Keep it coming, I am not saying any idea is perfect all I know is if your going to bother boosting lower levels to 50 to pvp, you might as well give them some exp for doing so.

Seriously I am guilty of this tho.... I agree if it was again to be made into a constant quest it needs to build up without hitting the board so the suicides to turn in stop.

I greatly enjoyed PvP in beta and was planning on making that a heavy focus on where I got xp seeing that early access has started; it's very unfortunate that Cyrodiil is being nerfed to the ground already.....what's our incentive in going there at this point aside from skyshards?

happen to enjoy Cyrodil immensely. Making the quest a daily quest seems reasonable to me.

Points and Exp are wonderful but if I am having a good time that's my main focus. After seven years post DAoC in LOTRO land I found Cyrodil to quite refreshing.

I hope this is a temporary change to the bounty quest. I do feel it needs a tweak some how.

Perhaps as a daily, make the goal like 300 players for a much better reward then the old one.

Judging the tone of this thread and many others like it it seems that people today don't just play games for fun. "3 hours of work" "but alas now we have no reason to do it pre-endgame". How about it is really fun and it was 3 hours of playtime not work.

Come on guys, no mmo was ever giving exp on pvp :D you exp on pve, and when you feel ready or lucky or bored of farming, you go for pvp! you don't do pvp to level up :D this way, strong players would become stronger and the weak would never level up :P you think like and american banker man :D heh...enjoy the game...it's more than just an mmo. it carries a 25 year old storyline, which i can tell you have no idea of...and maybe, if you have, it;s only fragments from stupid skyrim :p Morrowind ftw! Hail the Nerevarines :D

It is very disappointing to say the least. PVP is much more fun than PVE in this game and they just made it so you can't advance in PVP anymore. The PVP zones are going to be pretty empty now I guess.

There is no reason to pvp until 50 now. Why would anyone want to? So they can fall behind all the pve players and still be level 15 when all the pve players are 50 and working on veteran levels? One of the dumbest decisions I've seen an mmo company make so far. If they had done this along with a huge xp buff for player kills then fine, that would be fair. Instead they nerf the only way to level via pvp and give no indication whatsoever that they have any plans to compensate pvp player's for this game breaking decision.

    For killing players? Yes please.
    Not for taking (undefended) keeps.

It is not fun being level 20 and fighting against level 50 players.

And since you can't level in PvP anymore, this means that you will always be level 20 (ok, maybe in one month of daily pvp you'll get to 25) while all the pve carebears will be working on their veteran ranks and two shotting you.

If we don't have the bounty missions which is the only actual pvp mission taking keeps and farms is npc unless defended. Then how are we going to earn enough ap to buy the seige weapons and gear we need.
The way it is now I will not renew next month I came here for the pvp .
without pvp rewards what's the point.

Hmm weird you must be playing a different game then me, because in 3 hour play or so in cyrodill i leveled twice, i was 26, so not that big a difference. granted i did more then just kill players or take keeps.

You guys haven't given them a chance to sort out what to balance the change with. Changing the quest was probably a simple thing to do, but making a change to balance it out probably will take more time. I am sorry but the fact that people have 114K+ AP already bother me, makes me not to want to try and get on the leader boards, because a bunch of suicide muppets abused a quest to the point it got nerfed. Oh, and even without the quest I have seen the number of AP on the top of the leader boards go from 100k to 114k+ in a few hours.

I could not agree more with the OP,

My guild came here PURELY for PvP. And it seems that Zenimax is doing what so many other failed attempts before them have done, Force PvPer's to PvE to end game. We came here under the pretense we could get into Cyrodiil at lvl 10 and stay there. They need to up the XP BIG TIME for players you kill, solo kills, Raid kills, Keep taken, resources taken and outposts taken.

It would not in anyway be hard to implement but all I see them working on is more PvE garbage for the players that can't hang in Cyrodiil. I thought the DEVS for this game came from DAoC?? WTF happened to their new care bear approach to MMO PvP?

    D,

Also a quick EDIT: Players that are here for PvP should get double or triple the XP for every scrubby loser that knew he would get *** if he joined at 10 and just rushed to VET Rnk1 so that he stands a small chance in Cyrodiil. All VET Rnk1 or higher should yield 5x's the XP to True PvPers.

Can I ask where the idea you could do that (and level at a decent speed) came from?

LOL this guy assumes that everyone is racing to get to lvl 50 like it actually means something. I play for fun when I can. I explore. I really enjoy the quests that i find by exploring because they don't really point to each other.
Also, I think you need to learn what gamebreaking means. Good lord.
