So i have two points to say:

First: OP hates to do PVP i get that, but if you would read this forum thread alone you would have learned 3 easy ways to lvl the Skill lines without ever seeing some enemy players.

Second: How does it even come that players HATE PVP but they love raiding/dungeon progging where you lay in the dirt maybe 30% of the time aswell?

Is forcing PvErs to PvP any worse than forcing a PvPer to repeatedly grind a trial (and Lair of Marselok dungeon) in order to get the lead for an antiquity that is only useful in PvP?

I freakin' need to level up my skills, Horn and Barrier. I know damn well I'll need these skills for my PVE-only playstyle, but guess what? I'm forced to dive headfirst into PVP for this garbage. I loathe PVP, I mean, I seriously, really, utterly hate PVP in ESO. You have no freakin' clue how this crap drives me up the wall, and I'm itching to unleash a whole string of expletives because of it.

Put an end to this madness, [snip]! This isn't fun for those of us who abso-freakin'-lutely HATE PVP. Sure, some folks might enjoy it, whatever! But for the rest of us, we're livid. Stop this insanity, for the love of all that's holy!!!!! We need some other damn way to acquire those skills without having to endure PVP. We couldn't care less about PVP; we despise it, but we damn well need those skills.

Go into Cyrodiil, use zone chat and stay LFG. You should be picked up especially if playing a healer. You will quickly gain levels as a healer.

[…]Alright, I take my statement back then. Though I still would prefer all the PvE required skills to be accessible without having to play PvP[…]

I so sick of the entitled PvEer mentality of “I want everything to be given to me”. Pvpers have to get a majority of their gear, skill lines and practically everything from pve. A lot of them hate the idea of farming vMoS for Balorgh but they do it even if it means going in on a pvp build spamming Impale 🤷🏼‍♂️

I dabble in both gamemodes, made a new pve tank just recently, slapped a tanky set on and went about repairing walls and following the zerg for assualt/support skill lines. It really isn’t that hard. If you die, respawn and keep going

I completely understand if you don't enjoy PvE and are annoyed at having to do it for the sake of PvP, and you are fully within your rights to dislike it. The fact is though that ESO is predominantly a PvE game, wher majority of the player base mainly or exclusively play PvE. If you are playing a PvE game, and don't want to participate in PvE content, then I don't really know what to tell you.

I get that it's good or even mandatory for the PvP community to have new players introduced to this side of the game via the skill lines. The fact still stands that from a PvE players perspective the PvP skill line is the most annoying and time consuming one to grind (right after Mage's Guild let alone Mora's Whispers), and I've seen multiple new players refuse even attempting to play support roles because of the requirement to play PvP.

I don't really get what the "I want everything to be given to me" mentality that you are talking about really means. People don't want to play a mode they don't like. No one said anything about getting stuff for free.

The problem with the argument of PvP players having to farm gear falls quite short when you think about the fact that you only have to get that piece of gear once. For Balorgh, it's only 3 runs in vMoS, a 30 minute time investment if you run with even a half decent group, 60 with a slower one, and now you don't have to run vMoS ever again. If the PvP skill line progress would be shared to all your characters, this would be even close to being a fair comparison, but at that point I don't think anyone would be complaining about the skill line to begin with. If your argument was about psijic order, I would agree with you and stand by you. That skill line also sucks and I wish it would be changed.

It's such a flawed and dumb statement that people aren't allowed to find something problematic and annoying just because you find something else problematic and annoying. I happen to really like farming dungeons, you happen to like playing PvP, we both have to do things we don't like, that doesn't mean that things cannot be fixed and one side isn't allowed to point out problems in their view of the game.

You still get AP from completing a battleground match. Dedicate a day and just grit it out, the pain will be over eventually.

Precisely. It's so easy. OP could sit in the middle of a BG and not do anything while watching something on Netflix and still get rewarded a decent chunk of AP for their complete lack of participation in the content. There is no other content in the game where that is possible. Try to do the same thing in a dungeon, and you'd get vote-kicked from the group. Try to do that at a dolmen, and the game will literally kill your character. After a day of passively completing BGs, boom, you've got your Vigor, got your Caltrops, got your Warhorn. This is a non-issue.
    1. buy some cheap colovian war tortes from a guild trader.

    2. go to BG’s and do as much (or little) as you want to avoid getting kicked for inactive.

don’t worry about winning. BG’s aren’t fun and not worth stressing over. you’ll get a good chunk of AP no matter what place your team finishes.

Thats only because you throw all pve players into the same pot. While the truth is that only a very small percent of PvE players actual need those pvp skills to be competitive (since vigor got moved to the 1. slot and can be acquired by a safe pve quest).
The only ones who care about minmaxing their setups are the endgame PvE players (Raid HMs/ Dungeon Trifectas etc.) and their population has dwindled to the point where its not much larger than the PvP population. You dont need those skills for overland content or even non hm vet raids/ dungeons.

How to tell someone that you never looked into that vendor, without saying it.
The golden Vendor is Trash. A set can be meta for a year and be nerfed after that, without ever appearing inside that trader.
Also a monsterset, a necklace and 2 rings wont make you a build or even a full set. Maybe i would have a different opinion if the golden Vendor was something like the one in the endless Archive or would atleast offer Raidsets/Leads but it doesnt.

Also, I'm very certain the number of people doing trial HMs and trifectas is still much greater than the number of PvP players. You can check ESOLogs if you want some proof behind my statement.

First, why are you in BG's? Go to Cyrodill and join a zone pugs and it's not painful at all. YES if you go to the BGs I can imagine it's horrible! Better yet everyone in this game should be in a PVP guild that hosts PVP events. Just like every PVP player should be in PVE guilds. They allow you to have 5 guilds. If you join a guild group jump in Discord and PVP becomes much more fun and for me 100 times better than any PVE content.

STOP GOING TO BGS if you do not know how to PVP. You will learn nothing in there! Join a PVP guild and they will teach you the tricks of the trade and its much more forgiving than being in a small group.

Small group PVP is not forgiving at all just 1 weak link and your toast!

You're not stuck doing BG's if you do not know how to PVP stay out of BG's Small group PVP it is rough!

Please join a PVP guild and go to Cyrodill in a few days you will be leveled up. Stop going to BG's. I have pvped since release and I do not even go into the BGs that much. I suggest going into Shore est. time around 8-10pm ask to join a guild. There are some good starter guilds in running in those time slots. I would go for a bigger guild that runs large groups. If you cant find anything on Shore go to Greyhost!

This weekend I pvp'ed casually and made 500-600kK (Fr, Sat, Sun) 2 to 3 hours each day during prime time on shore.

Even a Zone pug will make 200k easy playing during the same time.

Monstersets are actual the smallest problem when you farm for a build, they are pretty easy to come by and dont require much farming (3 runs at worst). The biggest problem with the Vendor is that she doesnt offer full sets ( besides monstersets, but how i said earlier monstersets wont make a build) so you are forced into pve anyway.

I feel like that statement holds up as well as, only a small portion of PvP players need dungeon/trial gear.

It doesnt, unlike overland content, PvP is always competitive. If you dont minmax your build to the best of your abilities you will die to a player who did. If you played PvP you knew that the meta always revolved around somekind of dungeonset or mythic in the later years. Just to name some of the sets that dominated the landsacpe of pvp over the years: Viper/Veli; Earthgore, Crimson; Vate/maarselok; Zaan; Duroks Bane; Auroran's Thunder; Oakensoul ring/Markyn/band of Brutality/Sithis; Tarnished; Balorgh etc. Those are just the meta sets that i can name out of my head without going through the sticker book.
Also, I'm very certain the number of people doing trial HMs and trifectas is still much greater than the number of PvP players. You can check ESOLogs if you want some proof behind my statement.

Larger? Yes. Much Larger? No. The Endgame PvE community shrinked alot in the latest years to the point where you always see the same players in different groups. Lots of groups actual struggle to get members for the runs together. Than again i guess it depends how you define endgame groups and how you define "much" :D.
Moreover over the years of playing both PvE and PvP i got the impression that there isnt a hard line between PvP and PvE, its more like a venn diagram. I saw plenty of pvp players who got trifecta titles, while i also saw lots of endgame raiders who had one or multiple chars at 5 stars.

Other players operate within the environment made and controlled by ZOS.

If one of the strongest buffs that exist ingame is attached to one skill it's kinda obvious that players will want that skill used in their groups.

Yes, players are making metas, but ZOS makes the tools.

While that is true of ALL sets -- in monster sets, which is what the Gold Vendor sells, there are a lot fewer -- total of 60, right now, per the game stickerbook. Unless that stickbook is wrong on monster sets... but with 2 a week, and 52 weeks in a year, and with shoulders ... they go through most in about a year -- I had managed to get nearly all the heads in a year, despite, at the time, being an entirely solo player ..... keys from undaunted, as I was solo, was the weakness I had.....
