Silly Little Glass Eyes

I love all the new apocrypha decos we are getting. But I can't help but to notice that it is extremely hard to get the eyes of mora required to craft everything. My proposal is simple. Have the Endless Archives drop a ton of eyes. That quest that requires you to get 10 sheafs of paper always requires 2-6 runs to complete so I think it's fair to have it always drop a random plan of any color affected by the homemaker perk and like 40 glass eyes of mora. I also think that the tho'ats should drop increasing amounts for every arc you complete the boss of. Start with 5 for completing arc 1 boss, then 10 for 2, then 15 for 3 and 20 every next level of arc boss you complete.

I wish they'd do something. Those eyes are way too hard to come by in any quantity much less the number needed for any serious crafting.

Yes please, I do plan on doing the dungeon more but there's only so much time in the day.

    How many do you get?

If there was a guarantee of decent-sized stacks of something like heartwood, mundane runes, eyeballs, even deco wax, I'd go for it. But the way ESO is, I didn't trust those boxes; expected them to have like 5 each of something cheap.

It's easy enough to farm Scrivener's Hall on normal, but groups typically only want to go for one run, which is maybe 3-5 eyes. Unfortunately I can't solo it.

It's weird they locked it to one single dungeon. Agree EA seems like a perfect place to drop them.

when i get Glass Eye of Mora from the furnishing material containers it's only ever 1 eye sadly.
but it's easier than going to Scrivener's Hall.

I was glad when I recognized that the containers can contain the glass eyes, but it still seems to me to be the most lucrative if you use mimic stones to generate them.

This is actually a great suggestion OP.

It makes perfect sense, it would be the only other place where that style mat drop would fit.

Hopefully this was an idea that never occurred to the devs and they will incorporate it in a future patch.

You have to know the style first, right? So, having to do vet Scrivener's repeatedly for a chance at those pages or buying one for 100k+? I guess it might be worth buying one for times when the market is low on eyes. Sadly the furnishings don't sell as well as they did a couple of months ago, to offset.

Or do you use the transmute station, also using transmute stones? (I'm not one of the types of players who's "drowning" in those.)

There’s only a few furnishings inside! I wonder if you got very lucky to get the Glass Eye of Mora in yours as I just got 1 piece of decorative wax, 2 clean pelts, 1 heartwood, and 1 mundane rune. It’s probably still a good deal considering the going rate of most of those, but for me those are things I get from harvesting and compulsive looting so my very first reaction was to be aghast that I had paid for them!

Anyway, while I enjoy the rotating stock we do have, it would be nice to also have a source of the Apocrypha style material either in Apocrypha or the Endless Archive. I do like the Scrivener’s Hall dungeon, it just seems too much that furnishing style material should come from there alone.

Yes, I bought one style page for around 120.000 gold some time ago and I only use the mimic stones. I thought it was a good investment. :)

Is it possible to use mimic stones for furniture crafting? Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I've never noticed that there is an option to do this.

No. The best you can do is make gear out of mimic stones and decon it to get the material.

These are definitely too hard to come by. Seems like every chapter the crafting materials get harder and harder to obtain. As a crafting and housing enthusiast, this puts a giant wrench in my gears.

Do you have people to run with or is it that popular in dungeon queue / group finder? I've asked in guilds but it hasn't been possible (for me) to get a group that often and too much of a hassle to repeat-ask. I'd be ok with queue though.

glass eyes of mora is the style mat for scribes of mora, which is from a dungeon

and the guaranteed style mat has been basically nonexistent since at least blackwood (which is why stendarr stamps (high isle) and ivory brigade clasps (blackwood) sell for almost as much as the glass eye of mora)

I don't need the eyes to craft gear. I need them to craft furnishings from the multiple patterns I have been finding.

I normally just purchase things like this from traders because I hate farming more than almost anything else in this game, but the price of these is way more than I want to spend.

When our availability aligns, I’d be happy to run it with you. I’ve only run it as a healer so far. I need further experience before I’d try tanking it.

on normal its not too bad, but you need someone moderately tanky for the 2nd boss which has a ramping dmg conal attack like earthen root final boss

companion tanks wont cut it for that because their AI doesnt know to block through it lol

That’s true — no need to do it on vet for the Glass Eyes and it should be good practice (and lower pressure) to tank it on normal first. :)

Honestly, with an apocrypha house coming and a ton of apocrypha furnishings, just running this dungeon is not enough. It wouldn't be enough if it gave 10X the glass eyes you get from deconstructing the gear. And yes I have the perks and skills. TO make a house with this kind of furniture we are talking about hundreds of glass eyes. You get 0-3 from each run with the trend being towards that low end and when you do a full chest room at the end you are maybe getting an average of 7. This is not enough and is why they sell for so much. Not even close to enough. Also it requires us to run the dungeon which is a nightmare I don't want to face down even with a scheduled group because I HATE running any content over and over. I get burned out for a week after about 3-6 runs. They have made an apocrypha decorated house an impossibility for people like me.

I have trouble running this even on normal. We load into the dungeon and almost always someone quits. Or they quit after failing the first boss fight a couple of time, or they quit after getting a key.

More than half the time it doesn't finish with all 4... If the tank is one of the quitters I usually do too because this one of the normal dungeon where it really helps to have a tank.

ya, the crafting materials across the board are getting ridiculous in drop rates and prices.

I need stendarr marks and they are hard to get. I have tried farming them, no luck. They are super expensive. The only way I seem to be able to get them is by crafting with mimic stones and deconning, but that is about a 50-60% yield and I only have so many mimic stones left.

It is not a pefect solution and is really annoying when you can actually craft an item but I often buy the actual piece of furniture rather than craft it.

Sometimes these pieces are actually less than the craft cost but not always.

I am on PC-EU and our prices are a LOT lower than PC-NA, I would hate to deal with that economy! Even so I have three accounts and atm two of those accounts are mainly dedicated to selling to feed my housing habit.

Stendar Stamp, Glass Eye of Mora, Hackwing, Ivory Brigade Clasp, Dwemer Frame, Tempered Brass, Shimmering Sand, Culanda Laquer, Ancient Sandstone etc etc. All of these are needed for housing, some in huge quantities, yet many of them are a total pain or really time consuming to farm!

Some of us(I don't, I still have many gold purchasable houses to decorate) spend huge amounts of real money on Crown Houses, it is then unfair of @ZoS to make furnishing them outlandishly hard and ofc don't even get me started on housing space limits(why not at least make smaller houses???)!! 😱
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

I was so excited when I first saw all the beautiful Necrom furniture patterns. I knew they'd be perfect for my desecrated chapel I built in Coldharbour. After snatching up a bunch of patterns I set out with my amply stocked crafting bag to finally furnish my home assuming I had the essential materials already waiting for me just from playing the game. And then I discovered the glass eye situation and lost hope.

Queuing for Scrivener's Hall is a long and tedious experience. Completing the dungeon takes less than half the time it takes for the queue to pop. Guildies seem disinclined to join that dungeon. So over to the guild store I went and upon discovering the price for the glass eyes I gave up on Necrom furniture.

I don't mind materials being rare. But I think the glass eyes are too rare and should have an alternate source. Give the world bosses of Necrom a small chance to drop eyes. Or maybe chests in Apocrypha could have a small chance to drop a single eye.

The farm is wild--it takes a group of 3-4 DPS about 25-30 mins to do normal Scrivener's Hall, and that gives a chance at a Glass Eye from each of the 3 bosses, plus 3-5 items to decon for more chances. I'd think you could get 1-3 Glass Eyes per run. Sometimes I explain that and run it as a farming group, especially for newish players who have some DPS gear and want gold.

Usually I just run a taunt and extra heals and a damage shield. Normal is tankable as a DPS in DPS gear with <25k health.

It is still a lot of time invested for not a lot of eyes, but at least the price can help convince people to do it.

Comparatively, if you get max 1 Glass Eye for the furnishing crate from the Archive that costs 2k Fortunes, I think Scrivener's Hall is way, way better, but I've never measured my Fortunes-per-minute on my Arc 5-8 runs.
